Not really. no matter what you put her in on Virmire she's in that heavy armor that they RECYCLED on Horizon. I hate that she wears the same outfit for 2 years while everyone else gets new armors. Also Everyone's sexed up, Bioware was only blunt about it with Ashley. Vega wears less clothing than Ashley does, his is also thinner than her outfit, at least her outfit has SOME armor on it.
We've gone over this before: It's not about skin, it's not about armor. It's about style. If we were going by sheer amount of skin shown, Samara's outfit has less sex appeal than Vega's too
Ash's outfit is being called a military uniform. A uniform uniquely designed with the sole purpose of making Ash "stylish" Me, I'd rather she had something like Kaidan's outfit. I find it stylish as well. And in a way that also says "bad**** marine" too.
Why can't I have that, and you can keep the stylish jacket?
Kaidan's casual outfit has been shown? Do provide a link please!!!
/uneducated fan opinion.
apart from the humor he does wear the same uniform as Shepard, granted he's packing WAY more muscle than he did in the first two games and he's also in the running for the "most likely to rip shirt by sneezing" superaltive with Vega.
OMG... OF COURSE he does!!!
he gets an appropriate outfit to wear when not suited up for combat... and Ashely doesn't. Such a load of bull****!Mr. Brainheart wrote...
And about Vega, they obviously went for sex appeal too with the bulky muscles and the skintight shirt, but it's harder for me too judge if the sexing up is equal for both genders or not since I'm not female or gay and don't clearly know how they experience it.
The difference here, to me anyway, is that... sure they went for the manly, seriously buff appeal here with Vega. HOWEVER, he still gets to look like appropriate when not in combat armor and it's actually something that soldiers would wear while still being in the "sex appeal" category.

Ashley:
I mean seriously.... WTF? The whole... "they sexed everyone up" excuse is fail.
How can you guys not see the clear difference here?

because sexualizing males is confused with Idealizeing them. The ideal man has 24 in python arms, a 6 pack of abs, a toned but, huge thighs, and muscley calfs. EVERY guy would love to have a body like that so when you see a buff guy you don't think "what an unrealistic image of the male body, I'm appauld" you think "Damn I wanna work out to be like him" All the while They're easy on the eyes of heterosexual women and gay men who have fantasies of very intimate realtions with said muscle bound men. fro Kaidan they said "We buffe dhim up to show he's been in battle" He's 32 in ME1 and 35 in ME3 OF COURSE HE'S SEEN BATTLE! it was an convienent excuse for them to give him a body model similar to Vega after everyone COMPLAINED about him being really muscley.xxSgt_Reed_24xx wrote...

To the first point:
Fact still remains that Vega looks like soldier on and off duty. Ashley does not.
To the second point:
Yes.
And FTR, it's not the amount of skin showing that makes her look a certain way... it's NEVER been about the amount of skin.

If it's not about the skin what is it about then? The armored shoulders? Wedges not heels? padding on the chest? Weapon holders on the back? Knee pads on the boots? or is it the fact that she has hair similar to femshep's "classy" hairstyle?
It's the style and the 180 turn around from what she was in ME1 & 2.
And no it's not about the amount of skin (there is none lol), padding on her chest, weapon holders, hair, makeup, or anything like that.
It's the tightness, the tacky look (I mean, seriously, look at it), the "jacket" looking like a skirt, thigh high heels, etc.
You put her in a casual outfit like shepard, kaidan, or vega and I have absolutely no problems with her whatsoever. And if you wanna give it sex appeal... make it super tight, at least it will still look like something a soldier would wear when not armored up.

They're not heels, they're wedges, big difference there. She was exactly the same for 2 years in game same Armor, Same hair, Same everything. That's more insulting to me since they decided she didn't warrent a new look like the other squadmates from the previous game. Wrex got new armor, Liara got a new outfit, Garrus and Tali got two because they were on the ME2 squad, even Kaidan has two seperate armors. That's BS. Now she finally has her own individual look and you're complaining that she's not like everyone else after we complained about her and Kaidan being treated like one person because of Horizon. You can't have it both ways Reed.xxSgt_Reed_24xx wrote...

About it not fitting in with Alliance standards, it's probably true, we haven't seen anyone else in the Alliance wear something like that and Ashley isn't that special it seems. On the other hand maybe it's not forbidden to wear what she wears as a casual armour, maybe a lot of people don't dare to wear anything else than normal outfits because of some kind of stigma. It might be close to stretching what you can believe but I don't think it's impossible. In part they probably created it to make her stand out from the crowd, maybe it fits her in ME3, maybe she stand out from the crowd in personality as well? There are possibilities here.

I don't recall complaining that she wore the same armor in ME2. Big deal... she was only it in for 5 minutes. So there was no point anyway.
Now though, she has the new hair, the make-up, the new dark blue armor.... what's so wrong about wanting an outfit that's not tacky and out of place especially compared with her male counterparts?

a few hours later:

Shepard: To be honest...I wasn't complaining, it's just...wouldn't you rather wear this in private? like in my quarters. Much calmer.

It may very well look "science fictiony" ... but look at everyone else in the room. IF they were all science fictiony looking too, it'd make sense. As it is, she's the only one and it sticks out and looks tacky.
And as for the second, sarcasm filled, point...
FTL, translators, and aliens are expected in a game like this. THEY MAKE SENSE to be there. Soldiers in heels are not a good idea... game about space robots or not.

I mean, I figure she loves to sing (badly) as loud as she can when showering and after a couple of beers she'd throw herself into a Karaoke competition I think. But she also loves showing you some of her dance moves (which Shepard desperately needs) and I could see her getting fanatical about that too.

I think what Reed wants is a more realistic uniform in a game that showed Alliance personel (including Ash in the past) wearing more realistic uniforms. Including in ME3 itself. Including Kaidan, Joker, and Shepard him/herself. A feeling I share.

How about that the VS will betray us in ME3 (they will think that Kai Leng works for the good guys and Shepard has to convince them not trust Kai L. or he has shoot the VS, killing them) and after the Mars mission (next mission after Earth) the VS is in a hospital for half of the game.xxSgt_Reed_24xx wrote...

Dancing (based on what I've hear in-game). She talks about dancing and showing off her moves and you can also see her dance in the game.
