Yeah, though we also have to look for some growth. My biggest fear is that she'll be static. She won't have grown alot in 3 years and she'll be MassEffect 1 Ashley which is what I don't want. I want her to be familiar, but new. along with Shepard.LessThanKate wrote...
Yeah, for all the fuss over Ashley's looks, there is the issue of how she's changed on the inside. I'm not looking for leaked info or anything, but I hope she mentions...or even just vaguely alludes to Tennyson and/or God and/or her family at some point.

Just saw the take back earth commercial for Mass Effect 3. I'm so happy because it was mostly Ash and Shepard kicking husk and reaper ass!

For me, I stopped to think that bioware thought really about Ashley's outfit, when they said : " she needed to be sexy. " I was stunned and disappointed. That's it. Kaidan, a leader, stronger, blah blah blah. I don't complain, because it's done and I like her outfit, but the mindset is ridiculous. That's why I can't even argue anymore about that, when Bioware admitted themself they just wanted to please eyes with her design.
Yeah, I think the description was something like, "We wanted to add sex appeal,". It was "we", like it was decided for her. You see all the other description, and most of them take other things into account: personality, changes in the story, making them stand out in their race (Tali and Legion, for example). As much as I've tried to bite the bullet, that bit really stung. Might have been easier to swallow if it had been worded differently.
Of course, whoever wrote that paragraph...doesn't speak for everyone in Bioware, right?
As for the commercial, it was pretty awesome. I was shocked that Ashley was included; not claiming to be an underdog, but we got so much exposure of her it seemed selfish to even hope. Nice surprise for us.
Although...she looked whitewashed. Certainly wouldn't be the first time a Bioware character looked dramatically different in a commercial from the way he/she was in-game.

Shepard: ...
Ashley: This... is earth? I don't even recognise it.
Shepard: ... this is a slaughter.
Ashley: They'll pay for this, right? They have to.
Shepard: Damn right. *Pulls out rifle and loads it.* Let's go.

Here's a thought. (not gonna say my "they sexed everyone up" thing because despite it's truth it goes on deaf ears) but in Mass Effect 1 they'd already addressed Ashley leadership, combat expertise, and her life as a blacklisted Marine with potential to be a force in the Galaxy. what they never really adressed. In her romance thing she says she doesn't feel like she's good enough for the things she fights for and we all admit her looks is modest with her ahir up and little to no make up and the same outfit as everyone else. Now her hair is down and she has a unique outfit that fits both her apparent fashion sense and her tastes in combat since it obviously has light padding and weapon holsters on it. (it also used to have the Spectre logo but that's been pushed back it seems) she's finally able to accept that she's not just good enough, but she's more than worthy of the things she fights for in her life.Sylvianus wrote...

I feel a bit embarassed. And I am not someone who scream " oversexualization " everytime he sees a sexy female. But the mindset goes a bit too far for me... Fortunately, Mass effect 3 is the last episode, It couldn't be worse..
Right, I guess I'm just hoping Mister Casey and co see it in a different way. That the design change was supposed to be a sleek hybrid of form and function, as a means of showing how she's changed....rather than a bland, unfortunate attempt at grasping the attention spans of fanboys. I want to believe that, even though I'm sure it's not true.

Because, only ' sex appeal ' , people can't really understand what they mean. But anyways, the outfit is fine for me.

Shepard: But Ashley-!
Ashley: No 'but's!
