Yeah but he becomes a Spectre probaly agian and there both probaly willing to listen to him since he was always in charge unless they trade places or some command story instead of always taking lead and ingoring Undina or the Illusive man

Spectre status isn't a military rank though. It is a seperate chain of command than the Alliance military. Nihlus for example, wasn't commanding the Normandy in ME1.

Nihlus was only an observer, it wasn't his mission. I suppose Shepard is the senior spectre, that's why she is in command.

Well, technically. As Mordin said - "the consequences could be... unpleasant" if something doesn't go as they planned.

Shepard can be the CO again, Normandy belongs to him, Alliance just have put hands on her. And Ash/Kaidan will give back 1st seat to Shep, no doubt about it.

Edit: Well, that's true what Barquiel  wrote, Nihlus was an observer. But it's still stupid - just imagine Vasir coming on board and automatically becoming CO. She can just try taking it by force, and no one will mention that.

Sine the Alliance ranks are based on U.S. Navy ranks, Ashley does not out rank Shepard. She's right below him though.....uh.....no pun intended.

That works out for my canon Shep then. Kaidan died on Virmire in that playthrough.

Of course Ash deserves to be XO, It's hard to find anyone who fits this role better, but this choice is, umm, pointless. What I mean - I always take her with me, so generally both commanders are out of ship. XO needs to be on board when Shep is away. Joker was in charge during collector attack, seems like helmsman is the 3rd person on Normandy.

Pressly, who was experienced navigator, was great as XO on SR1. My money is on Adams then - devs said something about great comebacks of the old crew, maybe he's included.

Afaik Shepard is a Lt. Commander. Same rank as Ashley, but since he holds the rank far longer (with exception of two years being dead and the months while he was working for Cerberus). Therefore Ashley is still taking commands from him once reinstated.

In case of Kaidan: he outranks Shepard. However, the Captain is the one who's assigned to the ship - even if that's a guy with a lower rank than the officer with the highest rank. Think about it: sometimes Battleships have a Captain AND an Admiral on board. While the Admiral is the commanding officer of an entire fleet, he's not the ship's Captain. 

So if Hackett / Anderson reinstate Shepard as the Normandy's CO, Kaidan's rank doesn't matter anymore on board of the Normandy, especially if he's ordered to obey Shepard's command.

Canadian ranks afaik.

Their rank system seems to be less detailed.

That makes sense. IMO there's nothing left to say - Ash and Kaidan didn't take the Normandy just to pick Shep up and say "Hey, you know where your XO office is..." *. If Shep is reinstated as the Alliance officer, same goes with Normandy as his ship.

Her face looks more feminine as well.

Lets say CGI!Ashley is a bit different from ingame!Ashley, but she's still close enough to be recognized.


She -does- look like Ashley, just ... softer. More feminine. I can't put my finger at it. Guess the guys who did the trailer didn't use Ashley's original face but made one from scratch. And since it's done from scratch it's not entirely identical to the one used in the game.

It's different artists making them so they no doubt apply their own level of artistic liberty with the characters.

That's from the first TV commercial afaik. Ashley looks quite identically to the one in ME1. However I can't tell you if they simply used the same model for that CGI trailer like in game, but the -new- Ashley here is definitely different and made from scratch.

You're right about Miranda. The Miranda in the CGI trailer looks entirely different and far more sexy (no offense, Miri fans). I would say she also looked a tad older.
TIM looked different too.
Tbh Shepard also looks different. His face in CGI usually comes with a crooked nose and non-symmetric  lips, overall, Shepard's face IS visibly asymmetric. Not just a bit like you would expect for a normal human being but almost Harrison-Ford-asymetric. The ingame Sheploo sports a nearly symmetric face.

well dosent shepard become a spectre in every game it is getting outdated but he better become one or the council will get two more middle fingers to the face

Yeah, that's definitely the M-27 Scimitar. Ash needs the M-300 Claymore.
