Hi Everyone!

Big Shepley fan here, I don't visit this thread as often as I'd like. Can someone please PM me and tell me in greater detail as to what exactly happens on Mars. I am really dying to know now.

Thanks in advance.

You really don't want to know. Its better if it's a surprise.

Oh but I do. Its really killing me. I am on Mass Effect overload right now and I need something to get me by. I give myself major props for staying relatively spoiler free up to this point. I need a "cookie" if you you will, for all of my diligence.Posted Image

Well this isn't a cookie, it's more like a cake. You can get away with eating a cookie before dinner, but there's a point where it starts to be detrimental.

In order to get out of the Mars discussion let me ask you guys something. How do you think Ashley would react to your Shepard going after any of the ME2 li's?

It’s evident, that Ashley truly loved Shepard, if he pursued her in ME1. So she’ll be heartbroken, obviously. That he doesn’t want her the way she still wants him. How she’ll handle it? Most likely bottle it up, and concentrate on the war. That’s what she does - buries things. If Shepard starts acting d*ckish towards her, or ignores her like he couldn’t give a care in the world, then she’ll get over it a lot faster, and old wounds will heal as they say.

After horizon, it sort of was explicit that she didn't see him the same way. Clearly there has to be some degree of penance from both of them. No matter whom you romanced in ME2, it's set up so no romance can occur (with the exception of Jack's renegade sex, but you have to recruit her first) before Horizon occurs.

Damn, Damn, Damn.... DAAAAMMNNN!!!Posted Image March 6th can not get here soon enough!!!

You WILL thank me later. I know a few odd things here and there about the game, and what happens on mars is one of the very few things I wish I didn't know.

@ MBE:

Oh, Ash can cry - if Shepard gets critically wounded or something. Or KIA, of course.
But not under normal circumstances. Keep in mind: Ashley is the beacon of hope for Shepard, MBE. She should be strong.

Maybe my expections are a tad too high, but:

- Ashley's romance should come with lots of romantic moments, sappy, cheesy, funny - Ash-like.
- if there's more than one on-screen sex-scene, make it tasteful and fitting to the mood
- if there's a proposal scene, make it touching and a bit emotional, since it's maybe the last thing they might do
- keep Ashley in character
- make her romance meaningful and "real"
- if there's an option to summon her to the Captain's cabin like in ME2, make it more than just snuggling and "Continue ..."

And God helps you if Ashley does the Garrus: "Can't it wait?"

I have two FemSheps and Garrus' constantly being too busy with "calibrations" to even talk is one of the reasons why neither of them will end up with him.

Ashley just doesn't understand the situation. She's been left in the dark. It's more of, she doesn't know what to believe anymore, especially when Shepard comes back. That just goes against everything in her good book.

On Horizon, Ashley lost the plot, got herself worked up, and did the easiest thing - lash out. The e-mail afterwards,
basically said that she still thinks about him, prayed for him everyday after he was gone, and is willing to try and fix things in the future. She knows Shepard's doing the right thing, but doesn't trust Cerberus, and never will. There's still old feelings there, if there wasn't, she wouldn't even bother wasting her time on an apology. We'll that's my take on it anyway.

I see it in a very similar way. However, poeple can hurt those closest to them without intending to. Saying those things to Shepard, even with an apology rings hollow since there's so much time apart. It becomes unclear as to how to go about fixing that. Then with the opening of ME3, they're clearly estranged, so anything that comes from there will clearly start from scratch.

It has to start from scratch. I can't imagine Bioware making the effort of creating two different romance paths for new and imported Shepards. I am thrilled. : /

You have to keep in mind that the Ashley and Shepard in the demo have no romantic history. That scene could be somewhat different if they're actually old lovers. We don't know yet.

That's true, but for Ashley there's still feelings there, for her to even want to attempt at mending the relationship. If Shepard wasn't important to her, she'd just let go. The trouble wouldn't be worth it, and it's been such a long time too. Things might be uncertain for them, but Ash doesn't give up on something she wants that easily. Even more so, if Shepard wants to still be with her. Call her stubborn. Posted Image

I figured they had a set cannon for the default male shepard, paragon, romances ashley, etc.

We'll have to see. I did leave her for Miranda, but definitely am going to see if the option is there. If not I'll have to do another manshep play through.

See, if Ashley ended up in that situation. Ok, remember the extended version of the Take Back Earth trailer? Well, pretend all other marines weren't there... now pretend that they're all Cerberus... Now pretend that the giant brute Shepard charged at during the final scene was TIM...

THAT is what he'd do if Ash got hurt, all by himself, fueled purely by vengeance.

^ welcome back, Aurora *g*

And yeah. Shepard's "berzerk button" is hurting Ashley.
Same for Ash. And I won't start the Chuck-Norris story again ...

Thanks. Glad to be back.

And I think Shepard's Berserk button is hurting anyone on his 'Family' AKA. The Normandy crew. The LI, in this case Ashley, is an epic Berserker button.

Heck, my Shepard's crew is his turn into Liam Neeson from Taken button for shepard, because if anyone hurts them...

He will look for them...

He will find them...

and he will kill them.

Liam Neeson creation from Taken could definitely be my Shep, lol. I'm not sure if there's any option for Ash to be kidnapped, but still.

- Shepard, you can't just run around tearing down Zakera Wards...
- [cuts him off abruptly] Anderson, I'll tear down the Citadel Tower if I have to!

If ashley gets hurt. SHepard goes beserk and then TIM, cerberus and reapers will die. Hell that will happen any way, and still Shepard and ashley will end up together forever.

Shepard and Ashley together again, reapers do not stand a chance, the odds are against reapers.
