Okay, you guys are toying with me regarding Ashley finally being open to my fShep. I refuse to hope.

But if she is then this would work for me ...

Ashley: Shepard, about Horizon …

FShep: It’s okay, Ash.

Ashley: No, it’s not. I was angry, hurt and confused.

FShep: Confused?

Ashley: When you died … I missed you and realized that …

FShep: I know.

Ashley: You know what?

FShep: *looks at her smiling and saying nothing*

Ashley: You’re not going to make this easy are you?

FShep: *slowly kisses her* Is that easy enough for you?

Ashley: I'm sorry, I missed that ... Could you repeat the easy part?

Yeaaaaaaaaaah, I don't have much faith in Mac. Ashley and Kaidan's writers are gone now. They were never intended to be bisexual, it wasn't part of the plan at all. Now, it's changed becuase, the VS is in the same role, same shoes, so what's the point in being exclusive? It make sense from Bioware's POV, but it doesn't click. And I truly don't feel like it's doing justice to Ashley's character overall. There's a solid chance that Ashley is going against her religion and all the tradition in the world and all that blaaaah. But I won't get into all that.

When you see some of the lines, it doesn't fit and makes Ash OOC. In the s/s romance with Ash it isn't even brought up that Shepard is a woman at all, Ashley doesn’t even acknowledge it at all. As soon as you hit the first flag and active the start of a romance. You don't get an explanation for it. Yet she refers to a romanced male Shepard as guy ONLY at the start and middle, before that point. It's a half ass-job, and Bioware don't explain it, and actually try to do a little justice to an s/s vs romance.

Without going into spoilers, If you romanced Ashley before in ME1.... You'll get different romance options with her right up until you get to a certain point in the game. Only here is when the new players can pursue a romance with Ashley. Her romance dialogue goes from being, exclusively straight, to all gendered.

I agree completely but the FFTL community pushed and bullied.  They got what they wanted and the rest of us who felt differently were either called bigots or told our beliefs didn't matter.  The waived the politicaly correct flag in everyone's face and said fall in line or shut up.  So this is my last game that I'll buy from Bioware.  I've stated my feelings before so there is no need to state them again.  I just hope they remove any reference what so ever of her being religious because that will cause the biggest uproar that you'll see on here.  And yes...I'll be right there in the middle of it.
And FYI:  If I, a moderate Christian, feel this then there will be plenty of others who feel the same way if not more so.  So people can go ahead and call me what they want.  I'm used to the manipulation on these forums by now and I don't care anymore.

Yeah, they're both awesome. I'm going to have a hard time choosing between them on my canon playthrough (male shep).

In Mass Effect 1 at first i hated her. I thought she was just a racist but the more the talk to her i feel like i saw her true self. I saw how Shepard changed her and how she loved him and that made feel the same way. the Horizon fiasco troubled our relationship but i remembered the ME1 romance and i heard the voice letter from Ashley and i fell in love again

Y U NO LISTEN SOONER?

I'm joking, welcome. I think if you want the fullest out of a romance, play it right and stay faithful. Then you can romance another character in a different playthrough. As for me, I've only got two playthroughs. One with my broShep who's loyal to Ash and the other my femShep who's loyal to Kaidan.

Also since we romanced Ashley in ME1 will she react differently to seeing us in ME3 on Earth?

Okay, okay. The rumours I've been hearing are not just about the VS being bisexual. There is plenty of other stuff that I've only just heard. that make me think: “WTF?” So I'm clearing that up.

I would love for Bioware to come out and explain to me why they did it, to BOTH Ashley and Kaidan (Funny thing that. Wonder why?)

The way I see it, Bioware only made the VS an s/s romance now, at the end of the series, is because at the end of the day, they're basically the same character in the same role now, so what's the point in them being exclusive? And we all know the VS gets the short end of the stick from Bioware.

Anyway, Bioware will play it most likely like this: "The VS has always loved you even though they've shown no interest in the same sex before." So they can fit in with the current romance. That right there is what will set me off. If she was feeling you, Ashley is a confident enough woman to come out and say it straight in ME1, like she did with male Shepard, like she did with her religion. Call that OOC if she suddenly comes out of the closet and says that all shyly like Liara.

They wouldn’t pull the whole “your suddenly bisexual now” with Tali, Garrus or Miranda that’s for sure, and they didn’t.

…But you’re right, love can develop. It didn’t exist in ME1 as Ashley showed no interest, but in ME3 it can after a certain point (half way through the game after the *U* Scene.) and I can live with that so long as Bioware don’t pull the whole: “I’ve always felt this way about you.” when we know that's not the case. It's all about how they handle it, and make it fit to Ashley… NOT K/A as Bioware refer to them as.

It's not the sudden of the s/s romance, it’s more of the VS being pushed into the same character, same interests, and the same situation when it doesn’t fit. They could make it fit, but that would require two different romances, and there is no way in hell that is happening.

That's why I'm expecting OOC Ashley. “I've always loved you. I've crushed on you from the beginning.” No.... That wasn't true.

Maybe I'm showing a lack of faith on Bioware part, because I read messed up stuff the other day. I dunno.

When you put it that way... I totally agree with you.

I mean I'm all for my FemShep getting in on the Ashley loving... but, you're right, coming out all shyly about it would totally be OOC for Ashley. She's just not like that... waaay too confident in her own skin.

And Kaidan shouldn't have the same version of "coming out" as Ashley either. They are different characters with different personalities.

Yes, even in ME2 that has really gone without question. Have you read the leaks? I can send you some romantic dialogue if you want, so you know what's in store a little.

Pushed and bullied? maybe. but that's life. FFTL community didn't push or bully more than anyone who's wanted something added to the game post ME1. Tali and Garurs fans got their romances, why should we have to sit back and be nice and quiet when we wanted something? I do however WHOLEHEARTEDLY REFUTE that those who felt differently were called bigots outright. I know SEVERAL people who have disagreed with me on making Ashley (since this is her thread) S/S and I'm still great friends with them. It's when there's HATEFUL, malicious, and downright rude disagree ments that the casues someone to get called bigots and being told your beliefs do not matter. Whenyou're only in it to ruin someone's happiness in favor of your own, that's where the line gets crossed and the rules go out of the window.

You are completely entitled to your Belief's, feelings, and opinions Nick. but please don't try to make this out to be some pity party for a gorup of people taking bioware up on their word of listening to what the fans want for OPTIONAL content. Because as we all know, Romances are Sub-plots with little to no effect on the main overarching story.Posted Image

I'm sorry that this upsets some players but I'm happy if it's true.

She was the reason that I fell in love with the game to start and was disappointed when my femShep couldn't romance her.

But now I'm happy they waited until ME3 for two reasons.

1) It forced me to play male Shepard (PV Shepard to be specific) and I love that guy!

2) It will make the relationship seem more real and even sweeter. Their feelings have time to evolve instead of just jumping straight into bed.

Hold on there Reed. Ashley not as confident as you make her out to be.

When she tells you about her grandfather she asks you if you're gonna throw her off the ship, or if you're gonna stay with her because she thinks that's too much baggage. In the romance scene she says she never felt she was good enough for the things she fought for and that Shepard makes her feel good enough. So it's not as OOC as you might think that she'd be a little shy about expressing her feelings to a possibly lesbian female Shepard when she has a higher chance of having her random sexual outbursts being accepted by an apparently straight Male Shepard. Remember society has people assume everyone's straight unless they've said they're gay.
