Hey great dialogues except you completely made up the parts where Ash and Kaidan said they were only interested in the opposite sex.
Oh and also the part where you have no idea how the discussion will even come about in the third game.

But it's hard to ignore all the ignorance in the other threads and I don't like it when it bleeds into the one thread that I frequent.

I didn't actually get that. I always got a bit of a "could be" vibe from Kaidan myself. And lots of people felt like there was chemistry between Ash and femshep.
When it all comes down to it all of this is all based on you your perception of it just as it is for the others. Why does your perception have to be canon for everyone, particularly when there is no actual indication either way, just a feeling that the player (you) has.

There is waaaay too much discussion about religion and sexual orientation on these boards right now, and I'm sick of these threads hurting peoples' feelings or implying that people have loose moral or religious standards if they're gay or bisexual. It borders on hate speech and the ignorance of it all makes me incredibly sad.
WTF does anyone actually care what happens in someone else's games? GET OVER IT. IT'S A SUB-PLOT. Mind your own damn game and let's get back to talking about how awesome a character Ashley is - which isn't affected in the least by anything you're discussing here.
I want to kiss you right now.
Just...this. Please this.
As for sexuality. I must've missed the part where my Dude Shep hit on Kaidan and got rejected. I assume there's a similar missed part for Ashley and FemShep.

No one is forcing you into a same-sex romance with the VS. You're really just arguing for the sake of arguing now.
Please. I am asking you politely, enough.
If you wanna argue that point, I believe it should be made into a seperate VS thread. Or discussion group, which I'm fairly certain that a number of them have already been created.

In ME1, what dialogue between Kaidan and MaleShepard gave you that vibe?
...Anyway, And now, Ashley's gotta change too? Because they share the same role in ME3? Funny how they made BOTH VS bisexual init.

Anyway, the thought that I wanted to post was that Ashley never actually says anything about an actual organized religion, does she? She just says she has faith and believes in God. I know lots of people who believe in God, and even pray, who don't go to church.
I had a thought this morning at work about the whole VS s/s thing. I always wondered why so many people hated Tali and called her squad inclusion in ME2 "fan service." Then I got all offended because they decided to make VS bi. Not because I have anything against homosexuals, but because it wasn't something that fit with their characters, IMO. Then I thought, "Ha! Fan service..." Which was when I realized that that's exactly what it is, just like the Tali thing. Lots of people wanted it, BW listened, and it was included. There's nothing wrong with it. If someone wants their RPG experience to go that way, cool. I want others to enjoy this game, too.

Why is that so different for someone like Ashley or Kaidan?
And I dislike people using the "Ash is religious so she can't be gay" argument. That's nonsense. Not only does she never say what her religion is, but to imply that there aren't religious gay people or to imply that all religious people are against being gay is offensive to so many. It bugs me when people have just sort of claimed her as having their own beliefs.

Where do you guys see your first date with Ashley being?
In my head they've kind of gone on one. In between ME1 and ME2 I figure there had to have been some point where they were docked at a station for at least a few hours. I always thought maybe they snuck off to some dive bar to have a few beers and actually talk.

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. She's not going to change in your game! You are complaining about something that you will probably never see. Good grief, no one knows how the VS is going to be handled yet. Stop being so presumptuous.MegaBadExample wrote...

Don't think what happened?
Are you talking about our earlier discussion or are you talking about the date I mentioned?
Because if you're talking about the date, you're free to think whatever you want happened in your head canon. If it hasn't been written by Bioware it's possible and that's why everyone has so many different ideas.
So yeah. Sorry. My Shepard and Ashley have had beers. Sorry if the idea ruins your game...
And Megabad I've tried to be patient with you but you are obviously not reading anyone elses' posts and you jsut keep sayig the same thing over and over.
Ugh. I have to go.

In my head they never planned an actual date, but they had some lonetime moments on the Citadel, (in my canon they were stuck in a cave at one point), neither of them felt like it was ordinary dating.Totally Not Swaggacide wrote...

If bioware wanted to make Ashley bisexual (Which was never intended.) they shouldn't have made her into the character she is. The religion, the tradition. It would've been a lot easier to accept that way. I feel as if they're doing her character a diservice. Sorry, but that's the way I see it.
Like BadPie said, I don't think that "religious" definatively means straight. ALSO like BadPie said, you don't have to see it in your playthrough, and I probably won't either. Not because I'm against it, just because I'm not interested in that sort of thing.
On the more pleasant topic here... I always figured that the night before Ilos was a one time thing at the time. The were mutaneers during that mission, and afterwards they probably acted professional again. Granted there was probably a more suggestive undertone to things, if I phrased that right.

I know that. It just would've made it easier, if Ashley wasn't the character she was, and didn't have those foundations.
Don't have to see it in my playthrough? Yeah, but when you look at Ashley's overall character it doesn't do the proper justice IMO.
I also, get the vibe that Bioware did it because hey, it's the VS!
Bioware writer: Oh, but we made these guys exclusively straight in ME1. How are we gonna handle this?
...
Answer: Re-write, -re-write.

And that's fine, no need to apologize for the way you feel about it. But surely we all realise we've said the same things a dozen times over and look! We didn't get an inch further! And this goes for everyone discussing the subject. Everything we had to say has been said, that's usually a good time to move on to a new subject.MegaBadExample wrote...
