What do you think: if you can have Ashley and Grunt in the same team, would she like him as fellow soldier? And does Grunt respect Ashley?

Does Grunt even respect anyone except Shepard?

Wrex?

But on the Normandy...I'm not seeing Grunt respecting anyone but Shep.

Shut the **** up and stop acting like your so noble. My point was that is about as much sense as it makes for Ash being bisexual. I have said multiple times I have no problem with s/s romances except for the fact it makes no sense regarding Ashley's character

This.

I am being honest, not noble. Religious people can have any sexuality and gender identity. Common sense. You're generalizing.

No one has seen/heard the scenes with FemShep and Ash. We have no idea how it is handled. I am hoping for the best and I think it will be handled well. Ash being bi (which isn't even confirmed yet) isn't going to take anything away from your Sheploo's relationship with her. So I don't understand why you're complaining. If you truly like Ash, then you should be happy that so many additional people want to romance her.

It probably will take something away from the relationship.

But that's not my problem with it. I think most people know my problem(s) with it.

Whoa whoa whoa. Not cool. You're obviously very upset about this but it's no excuse for treating people like that.

Anyways, hello Ashley thread. I really do hope that I can romance Ash in ME3. She was by Femshep's buddy in ME1 and I can't wait to get her back. :D

But you don't know that for sure because you haven't played the game. We'll wait and see. I don't want it to take anything away from the Sheploo romance but I don't think it will.

I don't see the point of getting worked up about it. At least not at this point since the game isn't even out. It makes more sense to complain about it after you've completed the romance in ME3. I am hoping everyone (FemShep/Sheploo and Ash romancers) will all be pleasantly surprised. Posted Image

I think everyone needs to just drop the subject, before things get ugly.

Real ugly...

Posted Image Me too!

As for that person's comment, I understand that they are upset because they're concerned their romance with Ash will some how have a negative impact by making Ash bi. I get it even though it doesn't excuse it. People rage all the time over games. And there are far more serious things in life to complain about...but I won't go there. Posted Image

Yeaaaaaaah. I think I remember somebody saying you'll be pleasantly surprised before the release of ME2. Nothing got cut from the romance there, and everybody was happy.

Oh, yeah! That's right, I DID just bring up Horizon again! Booyah.

Hello and welcome Jellobell!

@People4peace: One would think that, wouldn't one? Maybe that makes too much sense.. D:.

Anyway, how are you all going to use Ash in combat? As a sniper? Up close and personal?

You're not using Ash right... unless you've used her with a sniper.

I don't care if that sounds dirty.

Thanks for the welcome.

I ended up using Ash and Garrus a lot when I replayed ME1. Ash is a beast in that game. I play Adept, so I have Garrus for sniping and Ash for getting close and wrecking everything that tries to come after me.

She'll do what she's best suited for - sniping. Although I'm used to have her as my main tank as Infiltrator, it's also going to be fun to have a RPed contest who's the better sniper ^^

Ash will get her boomstick too, but main outfit is Widow if possible.

Feel welcome:lol:

Ashley was - hands down - the best squadmate for the grunt work. Saved my Infiltrator!Shep's life more than once and with the right setting, she simply won't go down. "Killersquad" consists of Wrex and Ashley. Sometimes I even could send them into a room - and both cleaned it up without my influence. Too bad Wrex won't be with us in ME3 ... as long as Ash stays tough and a real hellcat on the battlefield, I'm fine

This is rude and you are out of line.  We are ALL fans of Mass Effect and those of us who support the possibility of s/s romanced Ashley are obviously all fans of her.  Shouldn't that be enough?  Shouldn't that be what this particular thread ultimately about? What you and your ilk perceive to be in and out of character  reflects only readings of her person and subsequently present your limited understanding of characterization as reality.  This should not be presented as reality; this should not be talked about as if it were fact.  Have you played the game?  Do you know how a potential relationship between FemShep and Ashley would go down or even what it would look like?  No, I don't believe you have, and furthermore, since you have not you are not in a position to make any judgements about quality of writing or believability.

One more thing.  Did Ashley mention Jesus?  The Bible?  Allah?  Brahma?  Since when does, "I believe in God" mean that I believe in the Christian ideal of God (or any specific incarnation of a deity), and furthermore, that I agree with the homophobic ideologies of a very specifice group of people. It didn't.  These people would take exception to your grandstanding and circumvention of their faith.  So just stop, please.  Exercise some humility and some kindness.

Let's all find comraderie in enjoying the game that we all love and support the characters that we enjoy.

I would like to use her up close, since she's so fond of her boomstick. Unfortunately, BW has changed her to be more effective from distance than up close (iirc) and made Vega the tank, so I'm not so sure.

Well maybe I am just too optimistic. Posted Image But I like looking at the glass half full so I'll continue to be happy until there is evidence of it adding something horrible to the game. Less than two weeks away! Posted Image

@Mr.Brainheart  Some people refuse logic because they rather be angry. Which is too bad since it feels a lot better to be relaxed and happy. Posted Image

And to answer your question, I'll probably use her as a sniper. Even though I like when she uses shotguns, I usually have Tali and Wrex use them as well. Plus she looks good with a sniperPosted Image

Think my first manshep playthrough I'll take Garrus and Ash whenever possible. He's an Vanguard so that covers pretty much all bases. Since I see Garrus as more of a long ranged fighter, Shep and Ash will be the ones getting up close and personal with the bad guys ;)

My Shepard loves Ashley. He understands that she was emotional and doesn't hold it against her at all. Plus my Shep was with Miranda so lets call it even.
Although I still love Miranda

For myself, I get nervous at any possibility of the conclusion of the Shep-Ash trilogy romance being disrupted in any way.  This has been five years in the making, with an awful, awful Horizon scene already souring things once.  I'm already nervous that having a "rekindled" and "new" romance may dilute the experience with copy/paste dialogue...

Adding something horrible to the game? Please... That is not it at all. I support S/S romances with new characters, I always have. But Ashley is the ONE character, that IMO doesn't fit with it. In the end, it's all because Ashley is the VS. Most people don't care if it doesn't agree with Ashley's character correctly, so long as they get to romance her. Hell, some people wanted it that badly they modded the game for it. Didn't matter if it made sense.

I am relaxed. The game has gone gold, nothing else I can do except wait, and discuss it when the topic is brought up.

Actually Ashley is designed in me3 to be a tank. the problem Is that Vega is better in that role.Posted Image
