Yeah, but as much fun as the journey may or may not be.... if you get to the end and it just completely blows, it feels like it was all for nothing.

(I haven't seen the endings... just fyi. lol)

Apparently the guy I spoke to (he's a Spacer Edition player) says they satisfy. After much deliberation,  I agree...

You work fast! Love the piece, it's sad not all three of them can be together anymore! (Sometimes I forget that for a brief moment, like now.)

I have to agree with Aurora on this one, the journey you take spans dozens of hours, the ending 15  minutes at most. And yes it can leave a sour taste, but think of it this way: If the journey was crap but the ending decent, would you have felt like you enjoyed the game, you probably wouldn't ever play it again.

I don't quite understand why it would feel like it's all for nothing, that makes it sound like the game is just a means to an end to me.

The only hang up is that with something like the end of the trilogy the ending is almost equally as important as the start and journey.  While the  start is the first impression and the journey you have some times... the ending is the last impression you have. Its like starting a race strong of the gates but fading towards the end - you want to finish strong.

Either way... I see how  it shakes out in a fews.   Just my thoughts on endings.

Yes and no.

The journey (your life) is of course better than the destination (death). However, that "great journey" can get splitted into smaller portions.

We're witnesses of Shepard's life, more than a year (+ 2 dead-years) - and that time, the "mission" is just a smaller journey in the great picture.
Since smaller journeys usually don't end with a death, there's a different destination. And that destination should be a satisfying one - or you wouldn't even take the journey.

In our case it's easy: we enjoy the journey of Shepard with Ashley but we also want to see a "happy ending". Growing a relationship till wedding is such a journey - and the wedding itself is the destination of said journey.

Got what I'm saying?

I'm not normally an optimist, but I'm still holding out a bit of hope... We'll know soon enough. I still intend to enjoy every moment Cole Shepard spends with Ash, now even more so.

Edit for top ash, I know how this works :P

Like to think of it as a photo Shep always has with him...

Guess he'll always have a series of photos and beautiful memories of Ash, huh?
And even if not - there's still the "other" side. :innocent:

I usually don't put that much importance on endings.
I have started plenty of TV shows I knew were cancelled mid way.
The ending is just the motivation. It's like the carrots at the end of stick, you really want it, but it's just there to motivate you in doing whatever the person holding the carrots wants, here it's the devs making you explore and discover the world. The ending does validate what you did. But it doesn't cancel my enjoyement if it's sucky.
I mean there are the occasional mind blowing endings, but more often than not, it's just passable.

And a good start of a new franchise is always easier than a good ending of an old franchise.
You go fresh into the first game, so you just take whatever they give you at face value and accept it. You learn the way the game works, the rules of the world, and so on.
But when you get to the end of the franchise, you have expectations tainted by the previous rules and stuff that happened.
For a game like ME where choice is important, it's probably a lot harder than other games to get good endings as people did experience different things, in different tones.
I for one, did not have any loss in my crew that I could avoid. How would it taint my view of the world and experience? Would it feel redondant to loose some more in ME3? More "painful"? Maybe if I lost a character I liked, loosing some I didn't connect with in ME3 will disminish whatever I feel at the time.
Anyway, I didn't read the endings spoilers, but I'm going in there to kick some reaper's ass. See some awesome dialogs. Romance the heck out of Ashley and slip in there the idea of a threesome. And hopefully, my ending will be the icing on the cake... and it will taste damn good.

@ladywinde; This looks amazing

As for you guys who have seen the spoilers and keep dropping hints let me say this we are not ignorant. I fully expect that Shepard is going to lose squad members throughout the game and when it comes to the end I wouldn't be surprised if not even Shepard makes it out but in the context of the game THIS IS WAR. All that matters about the ending is do we win or do the Reapers that it.

All I know is that I will enjoy every moment we have with Ashley in ME3 since all we got was a dozen lines, a letter and a picture on Shepards desk in ME2. If she goes out fighting for what she believed in like Kaiden on Virmire so be it. Just remember what happened in Halo 3 near the end both Miranda Keyes and Sgt Johnson both got killed but the war was won.

Of course it's going to be a wild ride this is the final chapter of this story plus the fact that they made it possible to save the entire crew of the Normandy at the end of ME2. That part always did bother me a little it was too perfect.

I just feel sorry for those of you that have seen the spoilers because now your going to play your first game knowing some or all the consequences to the choices you going to have to make instead of shaping your Mass Effect Universe on what you Think is Right not what will give you the best or most interesting outcome first time round. That is what second, third, forth etc play throughs are for.

I love the new look, I have always been into brunettes. I think the hair down is very hot on her, better then the pony tail makes her look older more refined. I can't wait to have my ME1 squad back, 5 more days yay.

So I have 5 days to get 1 last ME1 and ME2 run in. takes me 30hrs for an ME1 run to complete very things and about 25hrs for ME2 to complete everything. So I might be able to do it. Did a 10hr ME2 run yesterday but that was renegade and killed everyone but a few squad members lol.
