@Brainheart; I totally agree. Shepard isn't without flaws Paragon or Renegade and I want the VS, the person that has been with Shepard the longest, to be the conscience that makes him question his decisions. Question what it all means, what price is too high, what's negotiable in war, and what matters most to him.
If TIM picks up on the tension between Shep and the VS, he'll make short work of them. A nudge in the wrong direction and they might spiral out of control. The emotions are so deep, the VS is more than just angry and suspicious, at the heart of it they're frustrated, confused, and fearful. They want to hope for the best when it comes to Shepard but they can't wipe from their memory his past two years in Cerberus captivity. The healing process, or lack thereof, will be, IMO, the highlight of this relationship.
@TNS; When you write keep in mind the driving emotion behind a character's words. I think you were getting the hang of it by Ash's line about Ilos though. The more you do it the easier it gets.

God thanks we still have headcanon. And in mine, Ash & Shep found a family one day, get children, grow old and die @ very old age. Cheesy, sappy stuff. But both deserve a happy life after all that sh*t they had to go through.
