I just came here to say that Ashley's romance is amazing in ME3, totally payed off for loyal Ashley fans. Very in character and well written, such a treat. I feel sorry for the guys who didn't romance ME1 characters or romanced ME2 ones - they're missing alot.
PS3 guys got the short end of the stick. However, they can romance ME1 characters in ME3 and get a wonderful (slightly different) romance.
Think it's obvious Liara, Ashley and Kaidan were meant as primary LIs spanning three parts of the game. Other romances seems to be extra options and ME2 romances got the shortest end of the stick

The Normandy is really "alive" this time around. You get the feeling that things are happening outside of the conversations with Shepard. This is what you should be feeling in a good story - filling in the blanks with your imagination based on little hints. Things like Vega and Ashley referencing each other re: her getting drunk. It implies that they were hanging out and probably drinking together, maybe talking. There's a lot of that this time around - Garrus and Liara hanging out having drinks in the lounge, walking in on conversations between Liara and Joker etc. I love it!
And it makes you think Shepard is a part of all of that outside of what you're seeing as well.
I admit that I was frustrated after Ash got on board because she gave me the "hey there" and "good to see you" treatment. I thought there needed to be a little something there (just a friendly thing even) kind of in between her arrival and her hangover conversation (which was so cute). I was also scared that there was some kind of romance bug and we were just buddies again. Thankfully that wasn't the case.
Haha. I blew through as many story missions as it took to get her talking again. Now I can finally takek he time for the side missions.

I have completed my mission for Wrex and the Primarch, cured the genophage, and thwarted Udina's evil plan. For the longest time, I didn't even see Ash, ever since I saw her in the hospital. She was guarding the councilors from the Cerberus troops when I saved them all. Now....nothing again. She is not on the Normandy either....I haven't even been to any funeral that you all have been talking about.
I haven't had any contact with the Migrant Fleet yet.
Is it just a case that I am not patient enough?
Also....going through some of these conversations with other "potential ME3 LI is like wandering through a minefield. I never know if something I am going to respond to is going to lock me out of the Ash storyline.
For instance: dancing with Jack on the Citadel, telling Liara she is a good friend when she shows me her idea in my cabin...etc.
I really don't want the story spoiled for me, but I will be really angry, like nerd rage angry is I screw something up.
Any help from you kind folks would be appreciated.

Dancing with Jack and telling Laira she is a good friend doesn't ruin the If you saved the council and Ash survives your encounter she ask you at the end about come on the normandy or joining Admirral Hacket. You must chose for her to come on the Normandy or she will become a war asset. Think it requires the paragon option for when talking to her when she has the gun pointed at you during the council encounter.Raanz wrote...
Ok, out of curiosity, I need a couple of questions answered. I will add a big please to it.

I chose the paragon responses with Ash during the showdown with Ash regarding the council, even dropped my weapon to prove my intentions, but there was no option for her to join Hackett or come on the Normandy, at least not yet.
I guess that is why I am confused.

I had a romance in ME1 with Ashley, stayed loyal in ME2 apart from a dance from Kelly.
Now, for ME3, as soon as I saw (and heard) Samantha Trayner, Ashley was going to get the push.
However, I now realise that Sam is a lesbian (NOOOOOOOOOO). When I had the dialogue with Ashley in the hospital, I chose the "let's take a break and see how it goes" option (or something like that), now I realise I want Ashley back, she's already become a spectre so have I left it too late?
Thanks!
tl;dr - Said no to Ashley romance in the hospital, is there still a chance we can get together?

Alright guys, let's stop trying to suger coat everything and let's be honest: What did you think of the Ashley romance?
Personally, while it had it's moments, I thought it was quite underwhelming. I was expecting more real conversations with Ash. Shepard and Ash only had like 1 real conversation in the Normandy and that was just her being drunk... and I think the dialogue was the same even if you didn't romance her. I wanted to see more of the playful flirt that Ash was in ME1 and I was disappointed that we saw so very little of that.
The dialogue between them near the end was rather good, but overall I felt it was lacking.
And is just me or was the Ashley love scene rather short? The way the music just cuts off was bad...
Too early to tell, since I'm at the beginning of everything. However, I'm not the biggest fan of the Zaeed-style dialogues. I just hope Ash will tell her oppinion after each big mission with a dialogue.
Overall, must say, I loved the romances in ME1. ME2 were okay but lacked real progress. ME3 ... some are treated in a really bad way, others work quite fine. ME3 lost a lot of stuff that made ME1 great and ME2 awesome - the dialogues. Too much autodialogue.
Unfortunately it's true, she gets the Zaeed treatment after every mission, except the one I mentioned

To be fair, they all get this treatment of certain conversations. I personally kind of like it. If they have nothing new to say to me, I don't want to have to go through the whole dialogue tree to find that out.
Now whether or not you like the contents of the conversations is a different story.

*spoilers*
Eventually she'll meet you at the airlock and give you the option to bring her back onboard.
I was somewhat disappointed with Ash's presence in this game. She spent the first half of the game off the ship. You eventually do get her back, but then she doesn't really do all that much. The "highlight" is an out of the blue cutscene in which you find her laying on the ground in her usual location, suffering from a massive hang-over. The scene itself is pretty funny. But it seems to hint that there was a specific reason that she was drinking (i.e. not just for recreation) and the game itself never provides any clues what that reason was. There are some other conversations with her after she's back onboard the ship. And the romance cutscenes (both the date and the consummation) are alright. But I think they could have been better.
She does get a good conversation on Earth, though.

I'm at the same point where I'm getting one-liners from Ashley; should I focus more on the "Priority" missions to re-activate the romance - and less on the side missions?

I have PT's of both in them though my anon's both save ash and that's what I'm playing. though my third PT has Kaidan alive.Asch Lavigne wrote...
Does anyone have both an Ash and a Kaidan playthrough? I know their personalities are different but I was wondering how much of the VS dialogue was the same? I would imagine the stuff on Mars, the hospital and the Spectre stuff was pretty close to being the same. Of course the banter would be very different. But what about everything else?

If i bring her aboard the normandy do i get war asset as well ? (hehe here's hoping!). And how;'s the overall dialog when she returns to the normandy, would you say it's better to let her go with Hackett, or bring her back to the normandy.
Cheers in advance ..oh and you don't have to answer al the questions some are fine !

After a few missions again she wanted to meet me at the citadel, and went through the deal with her sister. Now after that i've done a few missions again, but she has been quiet lately, so am wondering if i've missed something, or am i on the right track, and i just have to wait?
Last priority mission was "Priority: The Citadel 2" but i've done a few side missions as well as some cerberus mission after, but not the new priority mission yet.
Edit: http://social.biowar...10740/1#9728811 found this thread, so looks like am on the right track after all, just have to wait and do more missions.

Does Ashley ever leave the Normandy after the memorial thing with her sister? She's always on the Normandy while mostly everyone else is on the Citadel.
There's one more, on the Presidium commons.
