No? What do you call shooting at enemies in a hostile environment then? And she, unlike Shepard, didn't escape her trial during an unexpected attack from the Reapers.

The E3 trailer is an unfinished product. Casey Hudson said she gets armor and a helmet. Whether or not she wears it in that scene, during the surprise attack is irrelevant.

We have the same amount of limited info we always had an I for one am tired of arguing in circles about it. That's all. Not begrudging anyone's opinion on whether or not they like her new look. I'm just not understanding what's so hard to get about it not being the only or final look.

Casey Hudson said that she will get an armour, yes. Her default outfit in the scene, which I'd hardly describe as irrelevant, appears to be what we've seen though.

If you don't feel like arguing about it, then don't? Posted Image

Covering fire while Shepard got on the ship. as soonas shepard was on the ship it closed up and left. shooting at Melee creatures to prevent them from crawlig on a fleeing ship is hardly what I call frontlines combat.Posted Image

@ Chig I'm really not trying to be this antagonistic I promise. I just think you're assuming a lot based on limited info. We're all hitting the panic button way too early here.

Read my comments again, it appears you've misread what I wrote:
Where did I write frontline combat, AD?

I said combat situation and it is a combat situation.

Edit

I know, Badpie. What I'm getting sick of is the whole "You're afraid of change"-shtick. I am not, but that doesn't stop me from openly stating my opinion on what I like and dislike.

yos aid ashley was a frontline soldier. so she'd need armor for frontline combat and providing covering fire for your CO to get on the ship is hardly frontline combat and her outfit is perfectly practical to fire at creatures with no projectile weapons.

I would never do such a thing. from whatI've read you dislike it because appears to be her combat outfit, which it is not. CHud has said twice that she has armor and a helmet but this has been forgotten by alot of people. I'm fine with it as armor and casual, but my opinion is not shared by many.Posted Image

And where did he say it is not her combat outfit, AD? This is simply an assumption on your part. All Casey Hudson has said is that she'll also have an armour and a helmet, nothing more. Her default outfit appears to be what she's wearing when we've seen her in the E3 demo and the recoloured version in the Alternate Appearance Pack preview.

And as I said, I'd suggest we'd drop it now because we're going in circles here.

Ok I want to point something out that will make me and others that are concerned about Ash's combat gear feel better. In the Earth demo Shep is in just a jumpsuit and while in combat if you look closely you can see that he does not have any shields. You can say that well he was in jail so he couldn't have shields. What I am hoping is that they have made the switch to non-biotics must have armor to have shields. So my speculation is that all we have seen is Ash's "casual" wear.

But then again Kaidan is in armor my guess is that since he has an engineering background he will be more comfortable in armor.

Hey tele! XD

The only problem with that idea is that... why would they show everyone else in that screenshot in their armor? And why isn't Vega in the demo wearing a "casual" outfit instead of the armor he has on?

I seriously think that is her default "armor" for ME3 ... with the promised armor as an alternate. Which apparently the squadmates will have more of in ME3. (thank goodness... since apparently it's too hard to make the squadmates customizable. =/ )

Anyway, as long as Ash does get armor and her personality is largely the same... I'm fine with her default outfit.

Another thing that many don't acknowledge (yes I know you're one of the concerned) is that we know that Shepard and Anderson aren't equipped with armor to fight in the demo.  We have no issue with that because we knew Shepard would be armored anyway.  And just to prove that they showed us various clips of Shepard diving and fighting in armor.  Shepard's never been able to adopt a new style similar to that of the Normandy SR-2 crew.  Shepard's always been armored and Shepard will always be armored.  We understand that.

Yeah a lot of my speculations turn out to be completely wrong anyways. lol

Actually, we haven't seen her armor yet ... Here are the two tweets from CHud to date:

"Also lots of questions about Ashley. We've only showed her in a jacket outfit & its CE variant. She will also have full armor and helmet."

"For the next set of #MassEffect3 screenshots, what are you hoping to see most? Ashley in armor? A first look at James Vega? Something else?"

I know that these tweets are supposed to calm me down but to be honest I will only be able to do so when I see the actual official screenshots of Ashley in heavy armor with helmet and without helmet. She needs to have her hair in a bun while wearing armor or at least have a bun and helmet toggle.

Since this was the demo, it was nice that we got a good look at Ash ... which would not have been possible if she were in full armor & helmet. We would really have liked her looking like Vega in that demo? It makes me think of what Joker said, "It's good to have Tali back .... that is Tali right?"

If she had been all covered up and then Casey informed us that the two soldiers were Vega & Ash it would have sucked ... "That was Ash? Couldn't they have let us see her?" Posted Image

I seriously don't think a bun toggle will be in or w/e.... but I would have LOOOOOVED to have a scene where when Shepard first meets Ash again... he doesn't know it's her. Say, she saves him from an enemy or w/e and Shepard turns and is like... "whaaa- " and stops as she takes her helmet off revealing her long flowing hair... :wub:

but that can't happen b/c we know how they meet. :(

We have seen part of the first mission (Escape from Earth = Escape the Lazarus Station) not the prologue (??? = Save Joker).

Perhaps we do get an epic meeting with her in the prologue.

I know that the bun/armor fans are nervous but I was responding to the "And where did he say it is not her combat outfit, AD?" line ... He did say that what we saw her in was not her armor. I personally don't care for armor & the bun, but either way I'm ok. When the scions, husks, etc start attacking me I am too focused on their bad as5es to really look at what my team is wearing. But I get that to others it matters. Hopefully Bioware gives everyone an option ... Posted Image

This may be when they first meet?

My Shepard will look haggard because he lost faith in what they had and strayed ... and now he is wondering if she nows. "****! How do I fix this?" Is what he is thinking. Posted Image

I like that pic.

My Shepard doesn't have to worry. He never strayed. He stayed faithfull in both my completed ME2 playthroughs.

He would be thinking about how to fix their relationship which has been on hold for about 3 years or even a bit longer (depends on BWs final say on when ME3 will take place).

He loves her more than she knows.
