When Ash was in the hospital I told her that I didn't know about our relationship. I told Miranda that we were still on. Is there still a change I can romance Ashley?
That's a good question. You should keep trying to get back with her and let us know if you can.

Ashley survived and so did Joker/Vega. *

My PC is acting weird. When I press enter, it comes up as an asterisk, and my browser window gets smaller.

Well written cptdata. ending was sad no closure for any of the characters but the one i was most disappointed about was with ash. That message helps add a little to sad ending.
We might continue supporting Ashley as long as possible 'though must admit I went through some dark hours already. Funny - it's just a game. But you can say the same about a book that makes you cry. If you do so, the writer made you investing feelings for characters - which is already an incredible achievment on its own.

We definitely need more "Ashbombs" ^^

Somehow it makes sense, but it also feels like grasping for straws ...
I can understand why ppl support that theory, which is also supported by Shepard's dream sequences or the fact Shepard gave the Normandy a semi-happy ending (instead of destruction, they land on an unknown perfect world),
Maybe he got indoctrinated on an entire different level. Maybe he was even dreaming large parts of the game?
However, there's also enough evidence to burn that idea. Why should BW use the cheap trick "dream"? Whenever it was used by writers, it horribly failed - except few examples like Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Why should BW use it?
For now I consider the endings as "reality", but who knows?
My "headcanon" brings Shepard back & Ashley together. And the Geth survived the destruction ending - at least some of them. Maybe 10% of the entire "race".

Figured this would be the best place to ask, can you start a romance with Ashley in ME3 like Liara (no ME1 romance)?
Yup. Just visit her frequently in the hospital and use nice options. Guess the "entry point" of Ashley's romance is the same like for the guys who romanced her in ME1: the date on the Citadel.

If Bioware knows one thing, it's how to write characters. In this case, a game well done is more than a book. When reading book, your role is passive, just an observer. In ME, you actively interact with these characters and they're responding to you. You're in control (to a certain degree) of how things will evolve. Needless to say, all ME's characters are well written and we got whole three games to get ourselves attached to them. I guess that's why it's so hard to accept current ending.CptData wrote...

Although I must admit the guys got quite lazy in the end - or run out of time. My sources say (so to speak), Ashley's character sufferes several cuts in ME3, mostly funny dialogue. Just imagine Ash having the same amount of dialogue like Garrus, Vega or Liara ...
So yeah, BW knows how to make characters, but they also know how to mess it up. Kinda. In ME1 Ash had a 10/10 (one of the best fictional characters since lifelike) to a 7/10 in ME3 (still lifelike in the romance scenes and combat but entirely different on the Normandy) - caused by destruction of illusion.

The guy/girl here may be right... If you have Ash (or any LI) in your squad on Earth and get hit by that laser, only Shep wakes up and he's hearing Anderson ordering full retreat. Ash is nowhere to be seen. When you made it to the Citadel, Anderson is there too. If he could follow you there, why not Ash? She's obviously alive after the Normandy's crash. So, she has abandoned you, fled back to Normandy and flied off? Doesn't make any sense.trobbins777 wrote...

Tried to explain the crash:

I'm not sure if Ash is dead after getting hit by the beam. But Shepard is dying for sure ... and nearly fully indoctrinated. The only way for him to survive is to get rid of that indoctrination, and that's only possible if he chooses the destruction ending with as much EMS as possible - only his free mind has enough willpower to survive those injuries.
Which is basically what Shepard DEFINES in ME1 and ME2 and ME3!!!
Shepard was able to take that Prothean Beacon without getting crazy.
Shepard was able to survive death and even attempts of manipulations by TIM.
Now, the final achievement for Shepard is to withstand indoctrination.
And if Shepard is in his dying moments, he needs only one thing: comfort. Believing the Normandy and his closest friends somehow made it out of the mess is the greatest comfort he could get - since the Normandy is his home, the crew is his family ...

Yeah, my thoughts were similar (here). If it's true and they will release a real ending via DLC, I'm not sure if I'm going to kiss them or kill them. Probably both
I doubt BW will release a "real ending" DLC - or at least won't call it like that.
In "worst case" every single DLC adds more data for another / altered ending so you need to buy them all for the "real" perfect ending. I shouldn't go into that idea any further or BW/EA might do it exactly like what I have in my mind. Paying 60 bucks for the game plus another 120 bucks for the perfect ending ... ouch.

Could always just watch it on youtube. Wish to god I had done so for ME3

Can you go on date with Ash BEFORE getting email from her to meet her on Citadel? Because with Kaidan, you can find him in Apollo's and initiate the date scene right after recruitment, before you even get the email.
Also, does Ash disappear from the Citadel after the date?

ME saga is my favorite story of all times... and if having an ending I think it deserves would cost me some extra money... so be it.CptData wrote...

because it feels the most real. theres actual problems. they fight, they get over it, and ultimately it makes them stronger for it. it has its flaws and im glad it does because relationships have flaws, no such thing as a perfect happy relationship, so thats why the ash romance is my favorite. because it actually feels real, some of the other ones feel like cheap soap opera romances from daytime tv int he middle of a sci-fi epic. feels out of place. but with ash, just feels right.
just thought i'd share my opinion. carry on!
