Did they not have time? They already delayed the game for a few months. It's like they took some squadmates and intentionally gave them the Zaeed/Kasumi treatment to get finished with the game sooner.
Didn't they say the game was 100% playable in December of 2010? Did they really spend a year and 3 months bug testing and polishing? If so they didn't do that good of a job since there are bugged side missions, and some weird textures.

I agree, they could've put a convo in there after the whole Citadel business for instance, but I don't see how it feels incomplete, thus far her character arc is handled very well, issues get resolved, romance continues again a bit after that and she has the family arc. (which I liked, since it's a big deal for Ash) The essential stuff is there.
@Ebevan 91; haven't read it but there could be various reasons. It might not have fitted in very well pacing wise or have been repetitious. It might've simply not worked the desired way and feel half-baked..you have to put a limit somewhere as a developer..but I haven't read it so I can't really say. (although I doubt I could after reading it)

pprrff: think we're on the same side if I say, the dedicated Ashley-scenes are pretty much perfect. I loved her arguments on Mars, I loved the scenes in the Hospital, the date, the drunk scene ... yep, great work here and absolutely IC. Lack of the word "Skipper" is a very light issue.
However, I'm more talking about the stuff that got cut: Ashley has very few generic lines and the few she has are strictly professional. Since you easily can spend 50+ hours in the game, that's kinda annoying: Ashley has 30 minutes of deticaded scenes, if at all, and almost no generic dialogue / post-mission lines.
Can live with that, but it feels a bit incomplete if you ask me, especially compared to Garrus.
Yea, but I feel that those post mission lines are more for humor anyway, Garrus is just more natural choice to deliever those lines. She has her moments too, like the line about Human 1, flashlight head 0.

@Data; I think she says Skipper at least once or twice.

Yep. The essential stuff is here.
However, a car is a car as soon as it got four wheels, an engine, gear (or automatic) and at least some kind of chassis. It works, but is quite ugly without an appropriate hull, right?
Ashley's romance is beautiful, absolutely. It's just missing the fluff, the generic banter. That's why I have her with me in as many missions as possible so I can squeeze out every line she might have in the game. Besides that, she's one of the most useful squadmates

I focus-fired her on 2 marauders just to test how well her upgraded assault rifle and marksman ability would do, and she took out both marauders by herself fairly quickly. I made my other squaddie attack someone else and I just watched. On hardcore difficuly, btw.
They really did make the squad AI better in this game if you ask me.

I romanced Ashley in ME 3 after not romancing anyone in the first two games and I must say overall I was very happy with the romance (well except the end). I really love the dialogue between them on the citadel when you initiate the romance. Ash seems genuinely surprised at Shepard's advances after not pursuing her in ME 1. Yet the conversation between the two displays the fact that each has harbored feelings for the other for quite a while, only now the climate of galactic war has made any obstacles in the way of their feelings moot, and has forced them to finally throw caution to the wind.

It may take an incredible long time to go through all the messages I had with MegaBadExample. Basically, some of the cut stuff are more flirty lines hinting Shepard and Ashley had offscreen sex and it's also hinted Ash moved to Shepard's cabin if romanced.
Since it's not in the game all those teasing lines make no sense anymore.
Also I think I saw hints for a second sex scene that got cut.
Basically, that's it.

No worries, I have the leaked script so I'm sure I can find it on my own eventually, I don't want to put you out. If fact now that I think about it I think I do recall reading something that struck me as a second romance scene. *fervently looks through leak*

"After our talk all I'm thinking of is my Dad's coking. Normandy chow just isn't cutting it."
"Why am I not surprised that mess was all Cerberus. After everything we did trying to help those people on Horizon."
"Doubt any of us will be getting much sleep anytime soon. But I believe in you."
There may be more from earlier on. The oldest message of Hackett congratulating me over the Quarian/Geth resolution.

ME 3 did at least give my Shepard Ashley back. However now I need to become a better writer so I can write out my Shepard finding his way to that planet where Ash is now. HE MUST MAKE IT THERE!
I agree ^
I feel there should have been more Ash content, but what in the game was quality not Quanity. I did like it, it felt right in my book. I did melt too when She said i love you ..and begged me not to go. I personally was like when you put it that way, I can be convinced but the game didnt give me the option. I was happy she survived, so lets see what happens from there.

Imagine if there was a "The Things I do for Love" option where you could pretty much give the galaxy the finger and run off somewhere.

Seriously, I have beaten Mass Effect 3 twice now and still have not been able to romance Ash. Its really bringing me down. I dont know what Im doing wrong. I bought her and gave her the book, recruited her back onto the Normandy, and kept picking the Paragon choices. I dont know what else to do. She never says that we're over.
I still feel like I havent beat Mass Effect 3 yet because seriously, whats Mass Effect without the romance?
Maybe you activated another romance without noticing it? Ashley returns quite late in the game (second half) and at least Cortez tried to get in your pants if you didn't shoot him down.
Think Allers tries to.
So if you have an active relationship with another romanceable character in ME3, you can't have one with Ash.

However, dialogue dealing with an issue:
Ashley: That is not acceptable, Shepard.
Shepard: Huh? What did I this time?
Ashley: Hmmm ... first of all, you never invited me to your cabin while Allers had it two times, Traynor hat her time and I think Liara visited you three times. Not to speak of James, who also had a visit.
Shepard: Oh that ...
Ashley: Why no visit for me?
Shepard: Uhh ...
Ashley: Now? Spit it out, Skipper.
Shepard: Guess it simply doesn't make much sense to visit me in the cabin since you already MOVED to my cabin. Remember?
Ashley: Wait ... and what am I doing in the observatory lounge all day?
Shepard: I have no idea *shrugs*
