Don't worry about it. If Ashley had to hunt Shepard and bring him to earth. That means they had some time.......... ^^^^^^^

But I don't want that time to be behind the scenes.

Worst thing BW could do is if Shepard and Ashley are back together in the beginning without having had a talk because that happened before the game.

I want to have that ... no I want to have these talks with her myself at the beginning of the game. I want to fix our relationship myself and don't want this to have happened behind the scenes.

I would think that this will happen on-screen like LotSB with Liara ... some Shepards will need to work through additional romantic complications as well and these can't be done off-screen.

I thought that Liara & Shepard's romance re-connect was done well with their being options of faithful, break-up, outside dalliances but "I want us back", etc being choices. Hopefully Shepard & Ashley will have that kind of re-connect. Posted Image

i dont think they will reunite shepard and ash off screen.thats just being lazy.no good reason for it,unless theyve got alot of good stuff planned for the actual relationship and want the whole "horzion" bit and "reconcilation" out of the way.

That's a shame. I had hoped for a meeting with Ash in the Prologue were she tells him that she has to take him in or escort him to the trial. Would be a great opportunity for the first conversation (attempt to either repair their relationship or to break it off) between the two of them.

This.

The council probably instructed Ashley to find and bring Shepard to the trail. (Spectres hunt sprectres.) It's the best way without violence, simply because of Shepard's personal history with Ashley. They used his weakness against him! Using Ashley on Shepard  is like....using kryptonite on superman.

Posted Image

I thought it was the Alliance putting Shepard on trial not the council, therefore the spectre status was not an issue. Especially since not all Shepards were re-instated as spectre's as well. I have one Shepard not re-instated.

If that's so... Then why the hell would Ashley be with Shepard at that time... What other reason would she have for being there.

I would think killing 300,000 batarians would be bigger than just the Alliance alone. Posted Image
The Alliance will be the ones who punish Shepard, since he's human.

Damn man. I was trying to bring up the mood in this thread...and you bringing it down. Posted Image
Bioware won't let us down, this isn't Dragon Age. At least we get the characters we love back.

To bring the mood up a bit.

I find this funny. Not ME related.

You are right. At least we get Ash back.

Problems with that is that the Batarians are technologically not as advanced as humanity in the ME universe. Balak and Shepard talked about it in BDtS. That is why the Batarians ran away and hid after the Blitz and because the Council wouldn't want to help them.

I can't see the Batarians becoming a big thread to the Alliance unless its wiped out by the Reapers first.

Shepard being brought before a trial by Ashley is just pure politics.

Based on what Hackett says, the batarians are looking to use this to launch a war on humans which the Alliance does not want. As a result, they are going to pull Shepard back to Earth to stand trial ... Although, if this were a "secret" mission for Hackett (ie, personal favor), why did Shepard even submit a report?

Ash is still Alliance so she could be there in that capacity. Or they had re-fitted the Normandy to give to her ... like they gave you the Normandy once. Who knows. Wouldn't that be weird to have the VS over the Normandy. Posted Image

Put it like this.
Ashley is either acting on behalf of the Council or the Alliance, or both. And I'd still reckon that she was the one who found Shepard and brought him to Earth.

Let's hope not, because that would just give more fuel to the Ash haters. Posted Image

I would hope that she is there to support and/or be a positive witness to Shepard's character in the trial.

This.

That is the only way the Alliance and the Council think that they can get Shepard back without provoking an unnecessary fight.

Ashley/Kaidan is Shepards kryptonite. In our case it is Ashley because our Shepards still love her.

I also roleplayed my Shepard as hating Cerberus and wanting nothing more than to get back together with Ash and to serve the Alliance again. Those were also my Shepards motivations why he took the mission from Hackett. Because he wanted to show Ash that he was no traitor.

It's doesn't have to be just in the bedroom... massive flirting can happen from her trying to give Shepard orders... in which he tells her how sexy she sounds whilst trying... ;)

In one of the demos it was stated that Shep was reinstated into the Alliance. Considering that he is an Alliance Commander again he would outrank Ashley yet again but I too like her to boss my Shepard around. Posted Image

It could go down as harmless as Ash sending Shepard an e-mail to report in to the trial and she would like to accompany him to testify on his account. He could then pick her up before the trial and thus no reason for the haters to hate her.

That is my concern. I would rather her be there as a support than "bringing" Shep in. This might strike the "grandfather in shackles" memory and she shows up pissed that they are putting Shepard through this. Even though she blew up on Shepard, doesn't mean that she would like others to do it.

Like when I would talk about my brother .. I could, but no one else could.

Ash: Right! Shepard! Watch your right! Take some freaking cover!
Shepard: You sound so sexy when you command me.
Ash: God! Right now is not the time for this! *Starts shooting*
Shepard: Later? Much later? Tonight?
Ash: *Smirks* Uh-huh. Tonight Commander. I'll warn you though...I'm a Renegade.

I couldn't care less what haters think. They can rage all day and kick rocks.
Ash won't arrest Shepard. That won't happen. If we actually get to see the trial in ME3, I say Ash will speak up for him, same goes for Anderson.

That would'nt happen though. Shepard is reinstated. He is an Alliance Commander again. She can't give him orders.

IIRC, doesn't Shepard tell Hackett s/he will go back to Earth voluntarily?

It could just be Ash going along with Shep for support, by possibly using her status as a Spectre/former Alliance Marine to be a part of his/her 'escort' during the shuttle ride to the trial.

Afterall, it's not like Shepard could just park the Normandy right outside the courthouse.
Not to mention, we all know the Alliance retro-fits the ship, so Shepard has to be 'confined' somewhere else. Posted Image

yea i prefer to turn myself in....its time,i need to be debrifed by the alliance and council.the only problem i have with that is why would a renagade shepard who refused to be re-instated as a spectre turn themselves in.in a rengade shepards eyes he dosnt owe the alliance or the council a explanation and would write off the events of arrival as nesscary to stoping the reapers.

anyway in regards to ash.i dont want her to bring me in for the trial.i prefer the first time i see her to be that brig scene i posted about 20 or 30 pages back.

^ Actually that's a good point, I've never done the rengade dialogue choices with Hackett, so I'm not sure how it plays out.
