Much more posts & higher activity - easy conclusion, Aurora is back.

My Shep just had a little talk with Ash about Miranda.

"I can be angry about whatever the hell I want."

Yes you can, Ash... yes you can.

Edit: Forgot about "I wear armor into battle, not a swimsuit"
That was hilarious.

My favorite girl is tall,
comes with dark hair,
hazel eyes,
lips I would die for,
with a smile that might bring me back,
and the love and passion of life.

Her name?

Ashley Madeline Williams,
second human Spectre,
hero of the Citadel,
hero of Earth,
slayer of the Reapers.

I'm doing my first playthrough with Ashley alive, and I was looking forward to speaking to her again on the Normandy after she rejoins the team after the Cerberus coup.

But she just gives me the same one-liner over and over again: "Just catching up on stuff." Is there something I must do to make her willing to have a conversation? My MaleShep even romanced her in ME1 and stayed faithful in ME2, and hasn't even flirted with anybody in ME3.

follis2: Finish missions and talk to her. Too bad Ash has just very few lines of generic banter. Her main romance scenes are, once you got her back:

- Memorial for her sister's husband
- Drunken scene
- Date on the Citadel
- Pre-battle romance scene
- Farewell

Ok, thanks! I did a side quest and then tried to talk to her again, but nothing changed. I attended the memorial and tried to talk to her again on the ship afterwards, but nothing again. Disappointing. Had he known he would get the cold shoulder, he might have picked some one else in ME2.

Nah. It's not really Ashley's fault - her writer(s) were lazy. That's it.

ME2 romances got pretty much shafted: Miranda has her scene midgame and can be saved, but her romance feels sidelined. Same for Jack. Thane dies and Jacob moves on.

Lets say, there's only ONE female romance in ME3 that's better than Ashley's - Liara's romance. Allers' "romance" is no romance at all, it's a fling. Traynor is only available for fem!Shep. And Tali returns too late.

I want one too - one that expands Ashley's romance ;)
But sure, if BW hands out a Romance-DLC it should improve ANY romance, not just few.

Yeah, my canon FemShep was very pleased with the Liara romance. My MaleShep regrets all the possibilities that went by without grasping them with both hands. But maybe things will get better later on. But my FemShep who didn't even romance Kaidan got more conversations out of him than MaleShep has with his LI! :-(

Much as I want it I don't think BW will give out a Romance-DLC though if they release the whole "Shepard was just indoctrinated DLC" you will get some kind of interaction with your LI. At least what i think...

Btw and now i'm going to play Mass Effect 1<3:innocent:

A telling sign of Ashley needing more content is the movement of the thread. There's so little of her in the game we barely have more to talk about than we had pre-ME3. We still don't know why she was promoted to LC from Ops Chief and we have no idea what she was doing durig Me2 after Horizon and after the hospital the only convo with dialogue choices is her drunk and she doesn't move around the ship and have banter with everyone else. We need more Ash than that.

Yup. We don't even know why Ash got drunk. She's not the type for getting drunk without a very valid reason - "letting steam off" is none.

A lot of stuff dealing with Ashley's past (the time between Shepard's death and Horizon) is missing, also we don't learn anything new. Technically, Ashley's romance doesn't even continue the one of ME1 but is a new romance from scratch. Only few lines make the difference - the rest is the same.
A couple that finally finds together again wouldn't waste too much time. As soon as Ash is back, she should talk with Shepard, move around, may even suggest moving to his cabin ... all that stuff. I guess we Ashley fans simply know better how to write Ashley's lines & scenes than the one who had to write Ashley's content. S/he simply was no fan.

*sigh*

By the way, just check out Liara's thread - it seems to get 10 - 20 pages a day while our thread is pretty much dead with less than 3 pages a day - and most of the postings contain not more than an image or 2, 3 lines.

Sad :crying:

^that. They're aboutt ocatch us because they ahve tons of content to analyze and discuss. Time Capsule, Shepard waking up fora d ream and telling Liara she misses whoever she lost on Virmire, not to mention Thessia, Edne prime and Javik and her romance scene and mind meld before the final fight. Ashley doesn't have half of those moments and I'm close to seeing if Kaidan does.

Good to see I wasn't the only one that thought Ash got the short end of the stick, while Liara could do no wrong it seemed. Hell, I think I had as much interaction with Liara than I did with Ash, despite her being my LI and me being faithful to her in ME2.

The fact that she was taken out for half of the game early on irked me as well, at first I thought I did something wrong because no way they'd take Ashley out of the game just as Shepard and her finally united, but turns out they did. Its especially annoying they did this when we only had a brief glimpse of Ashley in ME2, while Liara was in an important DLC and she was in the ME3 team from the get go.

Outside of the love scene and the kiss on the presidium, I felt the relationship between the two was incredibly neglected. Outside those two scenes, you never really get the feeling that Shep and Ash were together. Not only that, the only scene you have with her on the Normandy is one when she is drunken, lieing on the floor. It irked me she got drunk with Vega, because up until that point Ash's screen time with shepard was incredibly lacking - why she couldn't have gotten drunk with shepard, I do not know. That would've been an awesome time to learn more about ashley, what she has been doing etc.

I remember getting angry at that scene because I kept waiting, and waiting, and waiting for ANY scene in which either shepard or ashley acknowledges their relationship, and by that point the game was nearing its conclusion. And when that became the first proper scene between the two since she got out of the hospital... I was furious haha. They made up for it later,

I do agree with some of the sentiments in this thread, did we actually learn anything new about Ashley?

^ I was actually quite pleased when I talked to Javik and he said something like "you and the femael, are joined?" and Shepard says correct. That was a nice validating moment for me atleast, to hear it from someone else, just made it more real. The fact that he picked it up by reading my pheromones....well nothing is perfect B)

Yap. Pretty much this. I don't mind all the Liara-content - I really enjoyed it - but I definitely dislike the lack of interaction with Ash. Besides the romance (and the illusion of one gets damaged), Ash has no real content. She's there, part of the roster but doesn't act as part of the crew.
Kaidan got a slightly better treatment but also feels more like a forgotten extra than a full squadmate.

If I wouldn't pick Ash every mission she's available, I could go through the second half of the game with less than 15 minutes of screentime of Ash. No need to visit her in her cabin - she doesn't say anything. The romance scenes were beautifully done, but outside of those scenes, Ashley lacks ... Ashley. She doesn't act like her. Man, Ash was really talkative in ME1, she always had an opinion or two in most scenes. Click her and you get something. I never had the feeling she got sidelined in ME1.

In ME3, she barely says anything. And if she's doing something, it's strictly formal outside the romance scenes. Heck with it? WHY? Garrus acts like a best friend, same for Vega. You even have more interesting dialogues with Traynor.

*sigh*
The more I think about it, the sadder I get. So much potential wasted here. Of all orginal ME1 romances, Ashley feels least complete while Liara's romance shows how it should have been done. Too bad she's not my type - sometimes I wish she were, I would ditch Ashley for her just to experience that extra content ...:crying::crying::crying:

Don't get me wrong here ... Ash is pretty much what I want when talking about a perfect lover.
She just got a horrible treatment in ME3 - between the romance scenes.
