That pic of Shep and Ashley playing with the models is still my favorite Ash fanart. I get a minor case of the squees whenever I see it.

So? Liara has more fans. Blue alien, easy to get, easy to understand - wet dream of many. While Ash is for... more 'matured' people. Besides, I haven't seen any dialogues there. Just a bunch of heavy quoted text and some pictures. And yes, Ash could definitely use more content to talk about. But if this thread was the same as other ones, I wouldn't be here.CptData wrote...

By the way, just check out Liara's thread - it seems to get 10 - 20 pages a day while our thread is pretty much dead with less than 3 pages a day - and most of the postings contain not more than an image or 2, 3 lines.

One little question. In my playthrough i'm a Colonist and survivor. For a more RPG feel to the game should i restart to new game as my whole family was slain on Mindoir and my friends as well on the planet. Starting to regret a little bit that i didn't pick Earthborn. Ashley is a family person after all and my whole family was slain :///
I played colonist with EW Shepard and while her parents were on Mindoir her father's family were on Earth (Savannah, GA). Her mother's family was also on Earth but out of the picture so they really don't count. When do families (parents, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc) all live in one place anymore? My family on both my parents sides are scattered all over the US.

Some threads run faster than others (Miranda's is a steamroller) based on the posters. I love both Ashley & Liara and one of the differences is that Liara has relationships with both genders. This means that you see a good mix of men & women on that board.
Kaidan's fanbase is also boys and gals so he runs quicker as well. Maybe if Ash had been opened up to the women this thread would have seen a shot in the arm after ME3 but who knows. She might have received more content like Kaidan ... But that's pure speculation on my part so you can just ignore it.

Agreed.
I don't mind Liara. My Shepard actually came closer to her throughout the series and especially ME3 as a friend. Relationship wise, it just seems too simple and straight forward. I like the dynamics of the Ashley relationship throughout the series.
She has flaws, a quirky personality, and a mindset on things that not everyone agrees with. I think a Paragon Shepard is good for her in ways as she is good for him. Their relationship is realistic in the sense that there is a lot of struggles in distrust but in the end I felt like the two really loved each other and that's not something I see displayed well in video games.

Just wanted to point out what AD said: our thread is running slow since we lost a lot of faces lately and there's nothing new to analyze. Others - especially Garrus, Vega and Liara, got plenty of attention and they have a lot of stuff to discuss about.
Guess I'm jealous. Or I lost the will to fight, after all, holding the line everywhere takes its toll.
I'm tired ... feeling old ...

Well you can always come over and visit the Liara thread. They don't bite.
I visit the Liara, Ash, Miranda, Tali and Kaidan threads although I primarily post on the Liara thread. It's amazing the different feels each thread has depending on the character. I just hope that the posters who were so adamant that Ash not have the option to love female Shepard keep this thread active. It would be a shame that Bioware listened only to have her thread die ... that would be cruel to her character.
I played my first run Shepard so I never did get to play my Shepard who loved Ash. I just don't have the heart to replay the game with that awful ending. It took all hope out of me. Maybe that is also what is factoring in. If they release a DLC that adds additional play to the ending that also gives hope this thread will pick up again?
Keeping fingers crossed. And don't give up ... Ash is worth it, right?

Not an option, sorry, PMC. Sometimes you can see me in Kaidan's thread ... besides that? There's not much to talk about Miranda anymore. And Liara? I don't know her well enough to talk about her ... I'm simply focused on Ash. The one and only character I nearly care for as much as I do for a real person
Well Ash is pretty rockin'. I loved her hangover scene although I almost missed it because I didn't originally see her lying there. I ran all over the ship looking for her after Traynor said to check in on her. The fact that she ended up more like Zaeed & Kasumi once she was back onboard was a little sad though.
When she got hurt on Mars I kept going back to the hospital to check in or just look at her from the window. I can only imagine what it would have been like playing her Shepard ... he would have been crushed. I took her and Liara on the final run and if I had seen them die that would have been 1) heavy handed overkill & 2) the last time either of them ever went on that run again.
EDI and Prothy would have been my partners from that day forward ... not that I hate them but they would be my two most disposable over the rest of my choices.

Must say, Ash held the line, but Liara died really frequently. Maybe it's not a good idea to go into close combat with a Banshee, huh? -.-
My final squad survived since I had my EMS at nearly 6000. Dunno how much less EMS you need to get your squad killed. I'm a completist and I do Coop play as well, so - no issue to me.
Still: a lot of content is missing for Ash. Everytime she had nothing to add after a mission or used a cold "Shepard" or "Commander" instead of a warm "Shepard" and "Skipper" I felt betrayed a bit more ...
Really felt ... incomplete.

I felt the same, after every mission would go track down Ash for some dialogue and the way she said Shepard or Commander just did not feel warm as you would expect if they were in a relationship.

Both Liara and Ash in my runs survived even when they were pounced by those gorilla things! And I hated those banshees ... one got Ash and it pis5ed me off. But both were really kick butt when I took them out to play on missions.
I had over 6700 but I still didn't see Shepard live on destroy. Apparently you have to play MP & bring your readiness % up or you need at least 8000. That really go against the "you don't need MP to get the best ending." Truth is, there is no best ending ...

Wow i'm annoyed. Just spent about twenty minutes writing down all my blatherings about Ashley as a character, why i like her and all my feelings on her ME3 content or lack-thereof. Only for my keyboard to glitch and delete it all.
Well i'm sure no-one cares, but i lurk in this thread a lot and have done for a long time. And i just want to say i really like this thread and all its Ash-enthusiasm especially its great dialogues. And that you guys certainly aren't alone in feeling kind of deflated/disappointed in how much of the character we know and love was in the last game of such a great trilogy. I'm also hoping that any DLC bioware produce has plenty of Ash-awesomeness included.
And now to slip back to the shadows of lurkerdom, awkwardly hoping this didn't all come out too garbled/idiotic.

*After Rannoch*
EDI: Welcome back Shepard.
Joker: Hey Commander. Totally took down a Reaper.
Ashley: He totally did.
Tali: I believe that brings the count up to three doesn't it, Shepard?
Shepard: That it does. Ordering an orbital strike has never felt so satisfying.
EDI: I also have some good news, Shepard.
Shepard: Oh yeah?
EDI: Yes. According to the last data burst from the Alliance, a wolf-pack flotillia of Normandy-class Frigates have brought down four more Destroyers in the Argos Rho Cluster.
Shepard: And here I thought this day couldn't get better.
Ashley: I'll say. Five Reapers in one day, that's a freaking miracle right there.
Tali: And Liberating my homeworld from the Geth.
Shepard: Yeah, this is a good day today.
Joker: And Commander, I would also like to point out that the Marathon Captain sent us a message.
Ashley: Read it Joker.
Joker: Alright 'That makes four. Stop dragging your ass or I'll win. Rox.'.
Shepard: Damn it. Gotta step up the game a bit.
Ashley: It's not a competition Skipper.
Shepard: Yeah - Says you.
Ashley: What are you - a child?
Shepard: ...
Ashley: Don't answer that.
EDI: Incoming communication from Admiral Hackett.
Ashley: Answer that, It's safer.
Shepard: *chuckles*
