Neither have I so I can't confirm whether or not a renegade Shep would even humor the idea of going to trial however...  It can be said that if a renegade Shep would, it might be under the belief that he feels he has nothing to hide.  It can work both ways if ya ask me.. And  If Shepard HAS to be escorted to the trial I'd much prefer he be escorted by Ashley than some grunt who Shepard doesn't know or trust.  A spectre (or ex spectre) being escorted by another spectre makes sense as well.  Hell, maybe Ash even volunteers to do it knowing that the alternative would be much more unpleasant for Shep.

Shep: Turn me in if I can turn you over later

Ash: I just might take you up on that

Shepard says that the Alliance should thank him for stopping a Reaper invasion and Hackett replies that Shepard will be used as a scapegoat to avoid war.

I'd love to see how many (if any) quotes come from fan threads like these and make it to the actual game. Not to knock BW too much, but the dialogue I see in character threads like these are just pure gold

I know I'm a bit late to this party, but I don't like the comments about Ashley fans worrying that Ashley critics will have a new reason to hate on Ashley. So what? Many of them have used so much twisted logic from a few scenes to promote the idea that she's a xenophobic religious nut who longs to hurt poor little Shepard's feelings by not staring at him longingly and stroking his ego.

I'm not saying that the writers have done a perfect job developing her, but at least she hasn't become a Shepard groupie, a condition that even claimed Miranda by the end of ME2. Ashley has kept her independence and dignity, and now stand alongside the new-and-improved LotSB Liara as a woman worthy to stand beside Shepard because she is capable of being her own woman and not just a satellite of Shepard.

So long as the writers don't destroy her in ME3, I'll be more than happy to consider my Ashley support as the acquired taste of a select audience.

Seriously, can we go a page without mentioning Miranda?! is that too much to ask? this is the Ashley thread, not the "Ashley and sometimes Miranda thread" ugh.

i agree with everything you said.

but still could do with a little less outright unchecked "OMG I WANT TO RIP HER EYES OUT" HATE!!! every now
and again.

EDIT: but you know what it isnt nearly as bad anymore as it was before.

i would say anywhere from ME1's initial release all the way to few weeks or a month after ME2s was the worst time peroid to be an ash fan.

Sorry, I brought up... uh... um... "the cheerleader," while complimenting Ashley. I felt the need to say what I liked about Ashley and what disappointed me about "the cheerleader" since I considered "the cheerleader" to be a failed version of the independent woman that Ashley is and Liara became.

That being said, I believe that each player should be allowed to be a fan of whomever s/he likes without having their fan sites flamed and trolled, so if anyone is a fan of "the cheerleader," more power to them.

You, I REALLY wish that Ashley could have taken part in LotSB. Especially if it meant Shepard was pinned down and Ashley got to go kick the crap out of the Shadow Broker. Solo. Yeah, that's it. Liara gets pinned down, too.

I would go as far to say that period goes all the way up to the Gameinformer story when they revealed she would be a squadmate. I am sure most people remember the times when we would have a question (The armor or no armor question for example) and no one would give an answer. For about 4 years we would be yelled at for defending Ash then had absolutely no info from Bioware about Ash. The dark times of no info about Ash besides a 5 minute conversation on Horizon. Then the "bridging" dlc's had not even a mention of Ash. Thinking of those times makes me appreciative of the times now.

I have to admit I was quite disapointed that I never got an Ashley DLC for ME2. Liara got a DLC! Posted Image

I was disappointed in this at first but I'm glad they didn't blow their wad early really.  I'm excited to see where that leaves Ash and Shepard.

Cue me yelling at the screen "FIX IT NOW.  KISS HER.  DO IT.  DAMMIT WHERE IS THE GRAB HER AND KISS HER BUTTON!?"

oh yea that time period sucked for sure, but i was more or less refering to the hate and the trolling.by the time darth made the orginal ash thread and around the time it reached 1000 pages there was a slow reduction in the hate and trolling ashley recived on BSN.

up until now where i would say really that she dosent get all that much nowdays.

IMHO, Liara NEEDED that DLC for her much needed make-over.

It would have been cool to see Ashley in "Arrival," especially if there were still dramatic tension between the two and there was never any chance to resolve it. I don't know about you, but I LOVE tension, drama, and a LI that isn't a groupie, unless Bioware screws up the pay off in ME3.

Twitter update on the romances! Thought I'd drop it here since Ashley is in ME3.

twitter.com/#!/patsquinade/status/90223453784907776
"Talked with CineDesigners about this: I rub wife's shoulder as we read. Would love that in-game. Little things."

twitter.com/#!/patsquinade/status/90208755983192064

"Many loves returning in 3. More about growing relationship. Aiming for heart, not lower. But still room for fun. :)"

twitter.com/#!/patsquinade/status/90205066178465792

No, sorry. Romance not mature without explicit presence of slick, glistening genitalia.

LOL AT THAT LAST ONE.

I really wanted Ash to be in Arrival, but then.... I played Arrival and it was so soulless. It was such a "okay let's just do this quickly so stuff makes sense" thing and it just didn't have heart. So after playing it I was glad it wasn't the venue for Ash's return.

I'm not sure if we'll get to see her in ME3 before when the demo showed her, but either way, what a kick ass return for her! :)

AD, it's perfectly fine for people to mention other characters here, just not to monopolize conversations with them.

Also, LOL at those tweets.  And OMG.....SHOULDER RUB.  YES. PLEASE.  <3<3<3<3

Also I'm posting this because Ash's face in it makes me giggle.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how on Horizon Ashley tells the mechanic, "You're in the presence of a god!" about Shepard before telling him/her how disappointed she is that Shepard APPARENTLY sold out to Cerberus and walks off.

I also love how critics complained that she was skeptical about an infamous terrorist organization that murders Alliance officials and conducts illegal biological experiments (like how to control alien life forms -- Garrus, anyone?). She should have taken Shepard's word without hesitation. Forget Joker's report about Shepard getting spaced, puncturing his/her space suit and plummeting toward the planet. All you need to bring someone back from that is two years, all the top scientist, and an unlimited bank account.

I bet Ashley is going to REALLY embarrassed in ME3. Yeah, that's right. She should get down on her knees and BEG for forgiveness for being so mean to Shepard and forcing the poor player to pick up another LI in ME2 so he can get a watered down snuggle-bunny scene. B***h!

Yeah, I know what you meant by the trolling problem. I was just trying to point out the double edged sword of trolls and lack of info from Bioware that was slashing Ash fans to bits.

so true, but as im sure most of us ash fans know,in our INFINET WISDOMPosted Image you have to experience hardship so you can better enjoy a victory. and i would say we have victory indeed despite the best efforts of some narrow minded people.
