Yeah, I think if Shepard (and he admits it too) survived the war, then he'd retire.

In my headcanon, he'd retire as well, people would still call him Commander out of curtesy or habit, but mostly he'd only be using his SpecTRe status to keep Ash company as she transfers around the fleet for relief/command work. Maybe take care of lil'Ash and lil'Shepard if and when they came along while mummy is out on long assignments.

Speaking of, I wonder how things turn out in case Ashley is taking command of the new SR3.

How's her style of command? She had the chance to learn from the best, so maybe she's pretty much like Shepard? What's his new role then? ^^ Still soldier? Or does he act more like a diplomat, an icon for mankind ... ?

She's got a similar command style to Shepard, though I think she'd be more for the formatilty, more pragmatic and less idealistic than Shepard. His new role? Probably there as an icon/hero, but I'd say more tactical and strategic planning, advising and occasional ground commands. He's retired from the Alliance, but it doesn't mean he's forgotten how to be a solider.

Hell, maybe the Councilors might make him the Leader of the SpecTRes, dealing with recruitments and things like that. Dunno. Basically, I think Shepard - anyone's Shepard - would wanna take a step away from the battlefield after the war's over.

Hmm, I think my Shep would end up like Grissom. On some distant colony, where he could live at peace and just be himself, not 'the Commander Shepard'. Ash would be with him, of course.

However, the only thing that would force my femShep to retire would be her (permanent) death

My Shepard is already off his nut before ME started, as I have stated several times, he'd go back to solidering after a long break from the battlefield. You know, recover - at least physically - before returning to active duty. I highly doubt he'd ever recover emotionally... probably be on medication for the rest of his life just to help him sleep. Something that a third party - IE Ash - will have to regulate. (again, Jon-Mal = former drug addict+addictive personality)

Shepard: Yep. I just had a meeting with Hackett. He accepted my request for retirement. Didn't look that happy.
Ashley: He just doesn't want to lose one of the best officers in the Alliance.
Shepard: Hackett didn't lose me. I'm still here, as advisor. And if duty calls, I'll pick up my Widow again. But for now, I feel I'm more needed to keep the galaxy together. Without shooting someone.
Ashley: Sounds like a plan. Hope you stay with the Normandy - she won't be the same without you.
Shepard: That's what I'd like to discuss too. Had a talk with the Council a few days ago. Seems the Spectres are pretty much down to just a few dozen heads. They decided to give the Spectres a leader - and it seems they picked me. Don't ask me why ... I'm still puzzling things together. And ... they want the Normandy as mobile Spectre HQ.
Ashley: What ... and you're telling this NOW? Why not earlier?
Shepard: Hackett.
Ashley: That explains a lot. So I'm the captain and you're my boss?
Shepard: *snickers* ... yup.
Ashley: Boss me around and I'll introduce you to Mr. Airlock, Skipper *smirks*

Maybe Im shooting blanks here, if so, just ignore this. I recall there was a musical theme to Ashley from Mass Effect sounding kinda similiar to the Vigil-theme. Is this just wishful thinking or is there actually a sountrack to Ash and where can I get my paws on it? If there isnt one, there definetly should be one, just like there are tracks for all the characters in ME2.

Am I the only one who misses the heartbeat-track of ME1? I loved that one. You can imagine Shepard listens to his own heartbeat when Ashley shows up ... to get into a romantic moment. And a night together ...

Sometimes I wish I were Shepard. In the Shepley-moments ^^

Shepard: You said 'John. I wish I could speak to dinosaurs so I can make them eat the Reapers'.

Shepard: I kid you not. You liked playing with fossils as a kid, Ash?
Ashley: No, but my dad's favourite movie was Jurassic Park.
Shepard: Ah. I get it. Jurassic Park , Tennyson and brewing his own beer. Your dad and I woulda gotten along like a house on fire.
Ashley: Yeah. And career military. Bonus points for saving the galaxy thrice over.

I know what the romance theme is called, believe me, Im a huge ME-music fanboy. However ive listened throu the whole Mass effect 1 and 2 on spotify, and the third from CE. But I just want the Ash-soundtrack from the first one, and I cant find it on the OST.

Maybe it was all in my head after all, too bad, then I guess someone should make a soundtrack for Ash. I really thought the tracks for Tali and Samara on me2, was so well put together to define the characters and their personalities

There's a romance track in ME1, Vigil's theme and the heartbeat stuff, but think it's same for all three romances.

Yeah, but LC is really the first nickname Shepard gives her. It's kind of like her calling him 'Skipper' despite not being the CO of the Normandy anymore.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. I mean, I know it's been months since I did a complete ME1 runthrough, but I just don't recall any music specific to Ash. The only soundtrack I remember that's close to the Vigil Theme is the Love Theme, and I wouldn't say that's Ash-specific.

^ yup. There is a romance theme but no Ash theme.
You can consider it as "Ash theme" if you romance only her, but besides that, it's just a generic romance theme for Kaidan and Liara as well.

Remind me to tell BW to create an Ashley theme if they want to make a reboot of the series.
