You are right. And that is actually what I meant, but didn't say right. The first real conversation that isn't strictly buisness.

Another topic that has been mentioned:
I think the game will start in a hearing, we will never know how Shepard actually got there. All my Shepards ranging from the Alliance poster boy to the egomaniacal a-hole would show up on their own free will anyway.
The first chance we will have to talk to Ashley will be aboard the Normandy after they rescued Shepard and I hope it will involve a lot of awkward behaviour and her cute sideways look.
Also, the concentration of Sheploo faces is getting to high for an Ashley Williams support thread.
In the words of David Archer: Please make it stop!

I have a problem, when someone says they don't like the look because it goes against Ashley's character and against everything Chris L'Etoile, whose role in the actual character design, i.e. the visual aspects of Ashley as well as the armor, were probably rather limited, against everything, that Chris L'Etoile, maker of all things good and just, has decreed.

(sad) Ash question time!
What did Ashley say at your shepard's funeral.
I touched on this in my story (link in the siggy) and Ashley got emotional during her speech and the crew had a toasts to Shepard.

I would imagine he wouldn't really have a public one. A small thing maybe, but it depends on your Shepard. My Shep is a Spacer so Hannah probably no doubt had some sort of service. It may have even been official, but classified.
I like to think Ash was there and only really spoke to his mother, and only enough to introduce herself as the gunnery chief, tell she was proud to serve with him and say she was sorry for her loss.
Ash didn't cry there or be anything but the dutiful soldier.
To be honest I'm glad they didn't say (and I hope they don't) because everyone's Shep is so different.

I'm shocked that people dn't think that Shepard owuld get the funeral of a hero. I know Ash would probably be saying Shepard deserves it too.

true, but there' shepard memorials, Mindoir getting the rights to use Shpes image for colonists, Hannah honnoring her hilds memory by captaining a ship, etc. they were really trying to downplay the reapers.Telemachus78 wrote...

It was my understanding that the Alliance was trying to down play his death. So a huge funeral would be counter productive.
yea from what i understand about the council and alliances attitude towards shepard in ME2 after his death they couldnt care less if he was dead.Telemachus78 wrote...

i dont htink the alliance "smeared" or disavowed shepard i think they just discredited his reaper warnings, everything else they love. they use shepard alot in recruiting and have memorials and funds set up in his name.Quething wrote...

It's prolly the whole "the Alliance and Council disavowed Shep over the Reapers and made him/her out to be a delusional pariah" thing.
But that didn't happen until a while after Shepard died, by all accounts. At the time of the SR-1's destruction, Shepard was still Savior of the Citadel, First Human Spectre, rescuer of Eden Prime, and potentially hero of Elysium/Feros/Terra Nova. (Must have been one hell of a smear campaign, and you can see it still didn't take all that well, given Shep's endorsement is worth a discount and promoting Hannah is a valid political maneuver). A hero's funeral back at the zenith of Shepard's fame is pretty much a given, even if it wasn't widely publicized.
My question is only how it would play out. For Sheps who have pallbearers or some equivalent role, would Garrus and Wrex be allowed to participate? For Sheps involved with Kaidan or Ashley, would they risk bringing that
relationship out into the open in order to claim a lover's role in the funeral, or keep it on the QT to protect their careers and reputations, and just serve as a close friend (Ash would be entitled to main!Shep's flag and dog tags, but I can see her leaving them to Hannah)? Would Joker pilot one of the fighters in the missing man flyover Shep should be entitled to? (Oh man, Shep's a high-ranking officer, I dunno how the Alliance does it but a US military service would have a horse. I wanna see them bring a horse to the Citadel for a funeral).
Also hey, I've gotten myself embroiled in a Horizon argument on another thread. I feel like a Real Ash Fan now, heh.

also goodluck with your horizon argument....lord knows how many times we have to jump into those. its almost as if every one who blames ash for that encounter is th same EXACT PERSON. cause the all think and act the same exact way about, ****ing crying and whining that ash dosent stroke sheps ego and give him the respect a big uber awsome hero like him is entitled.....how annoying it is.
