The ending explosion

There was a scene with Kai Leng. He knocks Shepard out with an explosion, when Shep came too, he's stuck crawling cause there was a piece of debris lodged in his back. And it was a slow crawl to save Liara or the VS.

Yeah that's one thing (of many) I don't get about the ending. The Catalyst, which is some Reaper AI thing that lives in the Citadel, takes the form of the kid Shepard saw die in Vancouver, BC.

WHY?

Contact did the same thing, when Jodie Foster talked to her father instead of an honest-to-goodness alien. And Contact was mocked mercilessly for it.

It was stupid then, and it's still stupid now.

Also, another thing. I thought the sci-fi version of the ultimate form of evolution was existing as energy (I may have read one or two sci-fi series). Not this transhuman, techno-organic fusion crap.
I wish my Shepard could saythis.

If anything, the Catalyst should have been the VV, or Shepard's counterpart (femshep for the males, bro!shep for females).

This is all I wanted to be able to say to the little ****.  From about half way through on it fits almost perfectly.

Probably the part that enrages me the most is how easily my Shepard excepts the bull****. He would never do that and why he didn't bring up the Geth and Quarians getting along together on Rannoch is beyond me
