I've noticed on other topics that there is alot of Ashley hate, but I guess haters will be haters. But I do wish she would have capped Miranda just to ****** even more off. Ashley is the best plain and simple.

Yea, there are a lot of haters. Some have knee jerk reactions to some of her lines that can be construed as racist (but are not really if you explore those feelings further) and some people are not fans of the fact that she has religous faith.

Also, if she isn't a LI, Ash really isn't that good of a character.

I never thought of Ashley as a racist at my first FemShep playthrough. Maybe a bit biased, but who isn't. I thought she was totally a sis material for FemShep... It broke my heart to choose Ashley over Kaidan...

But I saw the romance scenes for Ashley and ManShep, and maybe I'm a bit enamored with ManShep, but damn... I thought the scene was well done and touching.

Funny. I think she's a great character, one of the best - since most authentic. Not too much stuff crammed into one character, but also not too few so she would feel shallow.

Ashley: Skip, need a hand.
Shepard: Sure - what do you need?
Ashley: Remember that Black Widow you bought last time we visited the Citadel? It's a great gun but definitely ... I have bruises all over my right shoulder!
Shepard: Lemme see if I can help you with those bruises-
Ashley: Hands off. Don't need help with them - I need that upgrade that decreases recoil. It's called "Recoil Compensator M V" - think I saw one a while ago.
Shepard: Sure. I'll get you one ...

*several dozen missions later and the galaxy's safe*

Shepard: Here.
Ashley: What's this?
Shepard: That's the "Recoil Compensator M V". You wanted one for your Black Widow. Just costed me nearly my mind, my left leg and some other things you might enjoy again if the doc can patch me together ...
Ashley: Oh that ... thanks. I owe you one. *gently kisses Shepard on the forehead*
Shepard: That was worth it
Ashley: I know. Now get me a cookie. *laughs*

Took Ash to Eden Prime. Already I hate Javik, I mean I already disliked him, but now it's hate. He just biotic blasted Ash away, along with Shepard....

You'll learn to like him.
He's pretty much awesome in late game and even mentions if you have a thing for Ash (without calling her name). :wizard:

I know that much. I'm up to recruiting the Quarians now...

He's still an Ass, and from what I gathered he's supposed to be 'the one that failed.'

I'm saving Javik for Liara's playthrough ^^ Javik and Liara in the team... sounds interesting. Unfortunately, will have to go through ME1 and ME2 first.

He's the "Anti-Shepard" and displays the fate of Shepard in case he fails. That's even more obvious when Javik tells Shepard the story of how he had to kills his own crew.

Think Javik is a great character. Entirely different than I imagined him first, but not in a bad way.

Javik is cool and makes a good counter to paragon Shepard.

Wish Ash had a little more to say on the mission to get him though.

lol I like Javik. He reminds me of HK-47 from Knights of the Old Republic. I miss that robot ><

Replaying ME3 makes me wish I could bring Ashley and Garrus in all of the missions instead of waiting for a bit after Mars.

My only beef is that she just completely doesn't trust you at the start... I mean Anderson and Hackett do and really they have alot more to lose if Shep betrayal them than Ash does At least she understands after you shoot Uldna,

She's presented a lot of evidence to be uncertain about Shepard. The scene I note in particular is when you look at the Cerberus mook and his face is very husk like. Considering Cerberus rebuilt Shepard from the ground up, it's understandable that she's hesistant to trust him. For all she knew, there was some kind of implant time-bomb inside him somewhere waiting to turn him into an indoctrinated puppet of TIM.

The trust she once had in him was shaken. Sure Shepard saved her life, but it doesn't mean he's the same man. He was there investigating Collectors. Saving Ash was a bonus.

Ash needed to see actions to prove he's the same Shepard and had retained his will, not a few words. To be honest, a character arc like that is refreshing.

Interestingly enough, the conflict seems to be solved in the Mars mission when Shepard tells Ash he wanted to be with her. Her trust gets shaken again when he shows up while the Cerberus coup on the Citadel.

Makes me wonder how the relationship would have turned out if Ash hadn't been put out of comission. I wouldn't think the Romance resumed immediately, but they definately would have been on better terms.

Pretty much this. In that case, Ash would have seen Shepard had nothing to do with the coup or Cerberus. I think the entire "take out the VS for half the game" was introduced to create a "story" based on drama. Technically, it kinda shows BW lacked good ideas what to do with the VS: taking out for half of the game, reducing the VS story to the romance arc, bringing him or her back for the second half with little to no interaction with the rest of the crew and almost no lines in missions and aboard the Normandy, reducing the VS to the romance arc AGAIN.

Remind me that I do the VS story in case BW reboots the series. B)

Cheers mate, glad you liked it.  Wasn't sure chapter 2 was as good as my first one as parts were more difficult to write as it was not as action orientated - lots of dialogue.  I had positive reviews and some constructive comments so will start working on chapter 3 later on this week.

I agree on Data's rebirth project - it is looking top notch Posted Image

Actually, depending how it's played out. Ashley might recieve a call from Udina say a little before the STG base ordering her back to the Citadel for reassignment. Shepard and Ash can have a heart-to-heart talk after it's revealed she's been put forward for SpecTRe status. Paragons show interesting in reviving the relationship, renegades wanna keep it professional, citing their original relationship was a mistake.

Depending on how you play it. On the way out, you either give her a gentle kiss and tell her to stay safe or a harsh salute and goodbye.

Well thanks ...
Still need some native speaker. I hate grammar & spelling issues. Think I don't lack spelling but grammar, 'special some tenses are a huge pain in the ass. :?

Sure.
Must say it's kinda bad: in ME1 you also could pull certain renegade lines with Ash without killing the romance arc. In ME3 it's always "paragon -> romance", "renegade -> kill romance". Seriously ... why can't I be nice to Cortez without running into a gay relationship? Especially since his dialogue happens BEFORE Ash comes back. Virtually ALL renewable or new LIs have their special dialogue BEFORE the VS returns.

I was nice to the guy, when he offers you a drink just say "I like looking at the stage' or something like that.

And I was stating it generally. If you've rene-manced her then it might play out differently. She might be more bitter about the assignment and Rene-Shep might encourage that antagonism. Para-Shep might encourage her and brightly remind her about how far she had come in such a short time.

In a lot of early scences, Ash comes off better if you pick renegade in conversation. If you go all paragon, then it feels like you just stand there and take crap from her, and also makes Shepard look like a ponce getting chewed out by a controlling girlfriend. The renegade choice actually have him fight back verbally, even out the things in general and make them look like a couple.

I only picked the nice paragon things to say because I was afraid to mess up the romance down the line, which is probably what alot of people did and ending up feeling animosity toward her.

Never felt like that. Ashley is quite dominant in some way - after all, she's an equal in that relationship. If you go down the renegade route you make her less feeling like an equal partner.
Actually, I love paragonizing Ashley. Sure, Shepard takes several blows, but none goes below the belt. However, picking renegade options on Ash can easily jeopardize the entire romance.
It's like in R/L: if you play the nice guy, you might take some sh*t but also may end with the reward. If you fight back, you MIGHT earn some respect and feel less bullied around, but you also might lose that girl.

I prefer the "positive options" first, as long as the relationship isn't running - fighting back verbally works once you're IN a living relationship since both have a better understanding of each other. Would you try a violent argument with a girl you're currently dating? I doubt so.

In case of Shepard and Ashley it's like that: they need to rebuild their romance first. It's more like dating than being in a relationship. And that means Shepard has to take some blows first, rekindle the romance - they can sort things out once they're together again ^_^
