Ashley wouldn't fall for Garrus though XD too many health hazards and she wasn't kids...that come out of her. XD

Haha, true.
Oh, Ash could be Mara Jade. (For those of you who don't know, she was a Sith Assassin sent to hunt down Luke in the Expanded Universe. Luke showed her the error of her ways and eventually the two married.)

I like that idea better :wizard:

I was more thinking the Citadel as Coruscant. Galactic politics and that junk.
Illium could work as Muunilinst, a planet where money matters most and technologies are available on the black market.

Nah. I love Mara Jade (Thrawn trilogy - the only one I accept as following trilogy of the original two trilogies) - but she's not even close to Ash. In some ways she is, but in most aspects she's entirely different. Would say Mara is closer to Miranda (who's also sharing some traits with Ash) and Samara. Yep, Samara, you read it right. ;)

Think there is no real character in SW that comes close to Ashley - except Leia.

Uhh and check this one out!

One of the posts I did there was regarding Ash. I might share - it's about how BW should have done post-mission interaction for ANY character. Used Ash since I know her better than anyone else ^^

CptData wrote...

^ that's what RP is for, Demon *g*

Okay, have the example:

Neutral!Ash: Commander? I saw what happened on Thessia. It's hard to believe all major worlds are under siege now. If we can't unite the fleets faster, there won't be anything left to save.

Friendly!Ash: Hey Shepard. I saw what happened on Thessia. Did you talk to Liara already? She must be devastated - if she feels the same I felt when watching Earth burn, she needs some comfort. Hope you can talk to her. And how are you doing? I'll be here, if you need to talk.

Romanced!Ash: Skipper ... I can't believe what happened down there. Thessia - burning. Like Earth. I wonder how you can take it - or can't you? Don't need to answer that. Just ... let me now if you need to talk, hmm? And talk to Liara, Skipper. She needs a friend now.

THAT's how it should have been done. For ANY character.
(Or kinda similar).

Yeah, that's true. Still, I didn't want to say that as it would seem like I'm a Mirandamancer, in which, for obvious reasons as you can tell, I'm not.

You know what makes me laugh?

People who were saying Ashley was a racist for what she said in ME1, when we see in ME3, she was absolutely right.

When the time came to ask the other races for help, they refused to do anything for us(Even going so far as to use our plight as a delaying tactic to save their own skins), until we threw ourselves at their problems.

Am I right?

Ash and Kaidan share one trait: they're prophets without knowing it.

They kinda predict stuff that's going to happen much later in the series. Like Ashley pointing out the Council's room is easy to defend in case a battle is taking place there. Or about human nature - which is also found in any other species. No one believed in the Reapers since the truth is too cruel to take. And everyone tried to pretend they're not existing only to find hundreds of worlds burning once the Reapers came back.

It's stunning what great job BW did with Ashley and Kaidan in ME1 - just to kick everything off the ship and reduce them to drama!romance.

Yeah, I aside from Mars,  the hospital, standoff, date and "culmination", I didn't really care for how they handled Ashley's romance. I had more conversations with Garrus and Vega than I did with Ash, which really sucks, since Ashley's my favorite character in ME, while I didn't care for Garrus till about midway through ME2 and Vega is...alright, I guess.

So much for "less squad members for more interaction", huh Cpt.Data?

I´m just laughing everytime I´m seeing someone writing that Ashley is a racist. What´s important is that there is still a lot of Mass Effect fans who likes her :).

Don't throw that line at my head, I created that one :P

Yeah, BW concentrated efforts on Liara, Vega (two guaranteed squadmates) and Garrus (who can die in ME2). The VS definitely gets the shortest end of the stick of the gang this time (again). ME2 characters get sidelined with exception of Mordin. It's a shame - lots of good opportunities wasted. For example, I wanted Miranda on board - for epic banter between Ash and her.

Nope. We don't have Miranda on board and we don't have epic banter with Ashley at all. :crying:

That's social programming for you. Racism is very much a modern taboo so anything that has even a minute chance of being perceived as such, for example, the children's nursery rhyme 'ba ba black-sheep', is branded racist. The case here is that being (sensibly) cautious about the unknown is branded.

More fool them though - they cannot see past their own problems.

First impression creates your opinion of a person.

Ashley suffers not only a bugged line in general banter (aliens/animals) but also uses a bad analogy half of the players simply didn't get: the bear/dog analogy. In that one, we humans are the dog, not the aliens!

Once you get beyond that first impression and learn more about her, you find out she's not even close to that image first impression gave you. She's entirely different ...

Hehe.

Well, with Liara, it's like BW was literally pushing her on you to romance her. I'm really not a big fan of her, I don't hate her, but I'm not really interested in her either. And she get's the better "romance" scene out of them all, which to me, is not fair at all.

Miranda, well, I was atleast satisfied with her role in ME3, but then again, I'm not really a big Miri fan either.

When it came to ME2 characters, I was more of Mordin and Zaeed guy. They just seemed the most interesting to me. And they did handle Mordin's role extremely well(My eyes actually watered when he died), though Zaeed's couldve been better.

Either way, they really shouldve treated it more like ME1 where it was more character driven than action. That's one of the peeves I had with ME2, and it was even worse in ME3.

The lack of character "interaction" we were promised and the horrible endings are what make, IMHO, ME3 the weakest of the series.
