Because I'm feeling a lot of Liara rage at the moment.... and since Rox is the 'darker' half of my alter ego. Made sense to write this.
(Includes fem!Shep-by-other-name, Pierce. Be warned. Her true colours show through here.)Ashley: Thessia's burning. Damn it.
Pierce: Another notch on the Reapers' metaphorical belts. Have you seen Knives since your shore party came back?
Ashley: No, I can't...
*shakes her head* I don't even know what to say to him.
Pierce: Just being there for him would help immeasurably. If you have the chance, just go up there.
Ashley: You didn't see the Reapers landing, Rox. The devastation. And this was only a few Reapers.
Pierce: I can only imagine how Earth is fairing right now. Anderson is one tough bastard, a cunning strategist, but there's only so much they can do with the resources they have.
Ashley: My family managed to get out of there in time.
Pierce: So did Hannah. I'm... not sure about Kaine. He was in the second fleet. There were stragglers, but I don't know if any of them are him.
Ashley: Goddamn it I hate this war.
Pierce: Yet, I can't bring myself to feel sorry for Thessia.
Ashley: Rox!
Pierce: I am sympathetic to those who were scavenged and reanimated by the Reapers. And to Shepard for the crushing loss, but the cold harsh reality is it's the Asari's own damned fault.
Liara: How dare you!
Pierce: I'm only stating facts, T'soni.
Liara: My entire homeworld was just obliterated. And all you can do is sit around, gloating about it!
Pierce: And ours has been since the start of this war. Welcome to the club, Doctor. We have pens, novelty mugs and even a nice billboard on the Citadel.
Ashley: Roxanna, don't continue this line of thought. That's the advice of a friend.
Liara: I did not sit by and gloat while your world was lain to siege! While your government was destroyed!
Pierce: *stands up and stalks over to her.* Stow the sanctimonious bullish!t, T'soni. If I wanted it, I'd ask for a lecture from Shepard. My Government did not hide important information behind high-security barriers and religious doctrine then decide to exploit everything they learned from it and sit up in a seat of power acting so pious and moral.
Liara: Don't you dare insult my people... !
Pierce: I've scarcely begun to insult your people. You know what? It's about f*cking time the Asari were dragged down from that self-appointed position of power and morality. You're world is burning.
*slow condescending clap* Welcome. to. the. f*cking. club. Enjoy your stay. Don't forget to pick up a t-shirt.
Liara: *biotics are flaring before they calm down.* You're not worth it. Neither of you.
*stalks off*Pierce: Could say double for you, toots.
Ashley: Roxanna!
Pierce: I'll be in the armoury if you want to talk. Maybe you should go check on John. I imagine he's punching through walls right now.
Ashley: That completely was uncalled for and totally unprofessional.
Pierce: In case you hadn't noticed in the last few years, I'm an unorthodox woman. And a spiteful one. Its odd to hear you defending aliens, I thought you weren't a fan.
Ashley: Doesn't mean I'd go out and say things like that! Don't you feel any pity at all?
Pierce: I'm called '
The Ruthless', Lieutenant Commander, and not without good reason.
*turns to leave* Now go check on Shepard. Make sure he hasn't drnk himself to death. That's an order.
..... I'm in a foul mood for some reason... probably sleep deprivation....
