I like the last line (Ash to Kenneth). Didn't Kenneth say something like this: "don't wanna mess up with you"? Or something *g*

"You don't pick the shy types, do you Shepard?"
Funny enough - having fun writing an Ash meets Jack scene on my fanfic

Heh, those lines are between Gabby and Ken. Whoever wrote them is a genius! They're the comedy duo of the Normandy.
Gabby wants to have a relationship with Ken, but Ken is refusing - saying that his work comes first. He does eventually compliment Gabby on her legs though! Shepard can intervene and side either with Ken or with Gabby. If you side with Gabby, then they start a relationship.

I read somewhere that particular scene is bugged its dependant on what VS you have onboard whether it triggers or not.

Bioware's tendency to present "clothed sex" is rather amusing.
ME series is rated for mature audience (or for viewers over 18 yo) so there is no reason to present those scenes in childish way. In ME 1 Ash "bedroom" scene was without underware, but at he same time it was it was not primitive. Good artists can show erotism without showing intimate parts of the body.
Witcher 2 pushed those boundaries further, although I do not think it would be appropriate if Bioware did the same with ME 3.
Still, if devs rate something as mature, then they should present intimate relations in mature way.
I don't care about nudity in games one way or the other, as long as when it is in a game it adds to the story. The way Bioware did it in Mass Effect 2 and 3 actually feels like it takes away from the realism of the games.

That bug also gives me the idea Ashley's romance/banter could be bugged too.
Not sure if that's the case - if there are any unused banter lines left in the files.

I really hope that's the caes, the only thing wrong with Ashley's dialog is it's so good it feels like stuff is missing.

Nah, not much. Depressive state and happy state and some random Ashley bombs ... besides that, nothing new. We're not waiting for another ME after all

Completely agree. I thought the romance scene in ME, with the side-boob shot, was extremely tasteful and, even though short, a masterpiece. It was the perfect blend between realism (i.e., that's how I could see it really unfolding) and discretion. That's what made it an amazing work of art. That piece was so well done they didn't need to resort to showing frontal nudity, breasts, nipples, etc. to try and provide sexual content. The Ashley scene in ME3 was certainly better done in that regard compared to the Miranda scene in ME2, but it was still not up to the original ME standard. It reminded me of the Morrigan scene in DA:O, where she actually put ON a bra in order to have sex, I tried to enjoy that scene but I was LOL'ing the whole time.
However, everyone please bear in mind that while on a relative scale there are differences between how the scenes were done in ME/ME2/ME3, on an absolute scale they are all VERY tame compared to some of the sexual-based scenes in other games. Namely I am thinking of God of War, especially #3. The scene with Aphrodite, I don't think ANYONE here would be complaining about ME's side-boob after you play a game with a scene like that.

I m not sure if everyone here is American, but we here tend to be more uptight about nudity and language than fictional violence, so maybe a huge American audience for the game has something to do with it.

Anyone up for a dialogue challenge? If so, I'd like to ask for a dialogue about an ill Shepard (since it mirrors my current state) and Ashley either trying to cheer him up, or trying to get back to him for the hangover scene (or something like that). I think it'd cheer me up a bit.
Sure, as soon as I have time to do that. Currenty quite busy @ work

Busy in work atm too but might try that later on as well - did a similiar scene for a fanfic I was working on so might be in the right frame of mind lol

I wouldn't take the M rating to be meaning that only adults play it. If I had a sibling 15 or so I would let him/her play it too, and I feel that there are a lot people who do it (my roommate did it). If there are nudity in game i can easily imgaine some indignant parents starting a campaign. And EA tend to **** out on these things.

I'm American and I don't understand the problem people have with sex and nudity in games. I only have a problem with if it's only added to sell more games. I thought the scene in the first Mass Effect was really well done, and only became a problem because people listened to Fox news without finding out for themselves if anything they said was true.

I'm an European here - and I seriously don't get it. Violence -does- do damage to an innocent child: I had nightmares after watching the movie "Stalingrad" at the age of 14. I never had nightmares after watching an explicit movie at the same age, neither I grew the attitude "women are objects" or something.
Fox News is pretty much the main propaganda machine for the ultra conservatives. It's interesting ony 5 million ppl or so watch Fox News - but those are powerful enough to do something. The rest of you guys are so angsty, you're not able to construct a counter campaign against Fox News ... odd, don't you think.
Whatever, this is politics and should stay out of Ashley's thread. Ash hates politics and politicians ^^

It's not "Americans" that have the problem with it, its the church going public that think sex is a sin, and the fact that they have so much Voter pull in our government. To get laws and stuff put in... sadly its the "First Amendment" that has saved us from going into a complletely prude socitey.
They also think there childeren are pure angels and don't swear and have sex either.... last i heard teen pregancy is on the raise.... OH well. I guess there are whole generations not getting into Heaven.

Personally, I do not have a religion and I respect anyone and everyones views regardless, so it was a no problem to me. If she wanted to persuade Shepard then she was free to do so. Keeping an open mind has its benefits!

Ashley: Skipper - You there? Oh god, are you ok?
Shepard: ... I have my head under my pillow, the lights off and about half a dozen empty bottles next to my bed. How the hell do you think...?
Ashley: And your quarters smell like booze too.
Shepard: Is there a reason your here, Ashley? If not, I'd like to wallow in quiet.
Ashley: I can imagine that hangover kills a bit.
Shepard: My liver is evil. It needs to be punished.
Ashley: Clearly. I'll get you some water.
Shepard: Please.
Ashley: You usually this much of a drinker, or is this a new habit?
Shepard: I was clean'n'sober for... pshh... six years...
Ashley: And then?
Shepard: Then I took a long walk off a short, disintergrating ship.
Ashley: Could be worse, you could be sticking needles into your arms too. *offers water*
Shepard: I'm desperate to vent, but I'm not that desperate. Thanks. *takes it.*
Ashley: Just how bad did it get... you know, last time?
Shepard: Admission to a rehab facility.
Ashley: God, that must have been awful. What sent you off the deep end?
Shepard: Its... a long story.
Ashley: Survive this war and you'll tell me?
Shepard: What makes you think we'll win?
Ashley: Because as much as this sounds corny, I have faith in you. Always have.
Shepard: I need more than blind faith, Ash... actually what I need right now is a toliet... *dashes off to be sick.* God, I hate drinking...
Ashley: *sigh* ... This is gonna be a fun talk....

I couldn't find any combat chatter for her on Grissom, but she has reactions."Breaks my heart knowing they had to fight"
"Broke my heart to see them fight"
"You're never really prepared for war, but the kids did well"
"I'm sorry I didn't get to meet Jack - just curious, you know?"

I liked that someone in the game talked about their religious beliefs, it added even more variety to the characters.
