I also think jaded is too strong a word. She's definitely less naïve, and more of a realist. But she also became stronger and more independent for it. The Tali in ME1 never had the courage to show her feelings for Shepard in the face of the more confident competition (Ash and Liara).

I think it's her growth that makes her such a great character. I loved Tali in ME1, but if she had stayed that way throughout the trilogy I think it might've gotten wearing.

Yes, if her attitude stayed the same from ME1, we (or at least I) would not have seen her the way we do now. Not saying I wouldn't like her, though!

This is very in-depth Tali talk! I must say it is very enjoyable, and highlights why we love her.

Yeah, jaded is. I tried to qualify it with subtle subtle subtle but I guess that didnt work out very well. I can't think of the word, but it's like jaded without the unkindness. World-weary isn't quite right either. I guess I'll just call it "edgy".

I find discussions of Tali's character and motivations infinitely more interesting than the tripe about the length of her tongue that went on a couple of pages back.

Discussions like this one are the reason I still visit this thread in spite of its frequent derailments.

Tali is simply grown up. In ME1 the whole galaxy was new to her. But in ME2 it wasn't anymore. Yet she is only showing her strong and confident mask to the ppl who do not know her. She talks openly to Shepard. She states that she doesn't like to be an Admiral, but she has to be one. Their romance is the only thing that can distract her,. She joins Shepard in ME3 because she doesn't have to worry about Rannoch that much again, and of course, their love.

Her immune system has fully adapted tho, so no side effects from being intimate with shep

At least your dreams made some form of sense. I recently had a really bizarre one, I'm not sure what exactly it was, but I woke up thinking my cat (sleeping at my feet) was image code, and I had the urge to use him to uplaod JPGs. I must have dreamt that life was a forum .

Was most disappointed (and confused!) as I wanted a Tali dream so much that night

We were having an interesting discussion about Tali's growth as a character on the previous page. Kind of a nice change from this thread's usual fare.

No kidding - she did definitely have some mental growth, and her suit looks a hell of a lot better in the later games. It was a slow growth though which was nice - she wouldn't have turned from a shy introvert to a social wizz over night. I noticed a bit in ME2 especially when she revealed her feelings to Shepard that she still had that tone of shyness in her. Then in ME3 she kind of let her emotional wall down because she no longer had that weight of "oh Shepard's coming in the room, try to act natural" because she knew that he felt the same way and the pressure was alleviated.
