I was thinking about holding out for news of DLC to make the endings not suck or at least suck less before really going through the whole series again but...if the news isn't that great then my want to do it will die miserably.
I want to see the beginnings again for Tali, Garrus, everyone. But then again...Idunno.

...Still stuck on what to do for ME1 so I'll turn to you guys. I'm just barely on Eden Prime, trying a custom Shepard face(never done it before...they always ended up ugly no matter how much I tried so I found a decent one from the ME faces website). I'm changing bits and pieces of the story to make it feel different and yet it doesn't feel "right," if that makes any sense. I don't know if it's because of the ME3 endings or if it's because I don't feel as familiar with the custom Shepard and I do for the default one but it's bugging me.

Trying out different choices/options always feels weird. Like watching someone else's custom Shepard in a video, it's different. You're just not quite as familiar with it.
And, with that, I sign off. Keelah se'lai, night-o, all that good stuff.

I think we all feel the same way. The ending of ME3 has tainted the series and made it difficult to play. But don't give up yet. We're holding the line, at least until we hear some kind of official announcement.
On the subject of the photoshopped Tali photo... I don't mind it, actually. She's still pretty, and I think it "fits" my imagination of how she would look. I would have preferred them actually making an in-game face for her instead of cutting camera angles, but what can you do?

Remember the whole Echo shard thing with Javik. Isn't seeing them and reliving the best moments of a spectacular series worth the pain of knowing its all relativily moot for now.Ryuji2 wrote...

Gotta keep my first playthrough unique, and not get confused with others

Thats how I feel, playing through one and two right now and to me the endings of me3 don't dampen the games enjoyability. You know I've done at least 10 playthroughs of these games and I always take Tali on every single mission I can, she never gets old.

This is the one I was thinking of using, except tweaking a few things here and there(brown eyes, no cleft, younger looking skin, smaller neck and less pronounced jawline). Here's an image for convenience. Maybe make him less bulky looking too...dunno yet. All I know is that the conversion from ME2 to 1 looks...off.

Edit: Does that face look like a Talimancer's face to you? Looks more butch...dunno.

I've said it many times already: I won't let a bad ending ruin the rest. Even if BioWare comes out and says "suck it, this is all the ending you'll ever get", I can live with it.Ruby Python wrote...

I've made up my mind about what happens after. My Shepard lives, the Normandy gets rescued, and the mass relays get rebuilt in time. Until BioWare says otherwise, I can live with that.
It doesn't make the ending any better. It's still a horrid confusing left-field move with no attachment to the rest of the series, that BioWare should fix if they want to restore their fan's faith. But I see no point in letting it take away the things I did enjoy. I see no point in insisting on a worst-case interpretation.
I've played ME3 twice. After that I re-played ME2 as a renegade in preparation for my upcoming Let's Play (I need to know the alternatives so I can point out interesting things you can do during the LP). And very soon, I'll replay ME2 again to record the LP, which will basically be a repeat of my Talimancing primary Shep. I still enjoy all of those things. And the renegade playthrough, in which I didn't romance Tali, actually made me want to replay it "properly" (romancing Tali) even more. I can hold the line without losing my enjoyment of what came before.
The ending only ruins the series if you let it. I simply won't do that.
EDIT: top again:

And then I might go back to ME1 and fix some things, like buying an Elkoss Combine license for Conrad.
Edit: If they don't make a new ending, I probably won't be able to touch ME1 again. Though, it is interesting to look back on what's changed. The graphical details (such as Anderson's uniform), Tali's blue visor instead of purple, her voice and Garrus's...

So yeah..... just pre-ordered CE of ME:Invasion, Bioware might as well just come to my house hold me upside down and take whatever falls out and I will still smile and wave as they leave.
I agree with the principle of boycotting BW until they come out with a better ending, but then I think... Omega DLC, that sounds pretty cool. I still want to know what happens, and watching it on YouTube isn't the same as playing it with my Shep.
So yeah, I'm a sucker.

On the other side Garrus has heavy body armor and can be equipped with assault/sniper rifle but not with a shotgun.

She always did seem like the sniper type, but shes just so cute with that shotgunBfler wrote...
Has anybody wondered why Tali uses a shotgun instead of a rifle. I mean a shotgun is short range combat and there is the risk that the suit is somehow damaged. A long range weapon would be a far better choice.

I just chalk that up to ME1's class weapon preferences. They kept them with quite a few characters.
Edit: I am disappointed to find out that you guys are willing to hand over your money in the middle of this protest, but of course that is your choice.

Ok so it's not really an explanation, but hey she looks great
I will not buy DLC unless it is ending oriented. A small possiblity if it is Tali romance based, but that would be the only exception. My love for Tali will be the only thing that triumphs my passion for a better ending

But Tali's closest class equivalence is engineer (technically she is listed as "quarian machinist" but it's a pure tech specialist class, like engineer), and engineers in ME1 can only use pistols (except with bonus talents). So that's not the reason.Neverwinter_Knight77 wrote...

EDIT: It does make things annoying, however, as she's not the strongest character in terms of shields/armour and she has the habit of running right into the middle of things and getting taken out, especially in ME2 (ME1 squadmates stay near you unless ordered, and in ME3 her AI is a bit better).
