Seeing as marriage is a christian concept, they probably don't even know what it is. They might have something similar, but I doubt it involves dressing someone who most likely isn't a virgin in white to symbolize their virginity. I don't really care if there is/isn't a wedding. Though I think it would be a bit corny if there was one, it's tolerable. Tali and Shepard don't seem to be the kind of couple that need to say vows to guarantee that they legally belong to eachother. They have enough trust and love for eachother that they don't need papers to remind them of that. I'd rather they finish building the house, sit on the roof of it overlooking all the other quarians building houses with the aid of their geth friends - Shepard with a cold drink in hand, Tali with the equivalent in dextro form. Shepard turns to Tali smiling as she takes her mask off. She looks at him bashfully and he reassures her by lightly grazing her cheek with the side of his hand. Then he pulls her in close beside him, she rests her weary head on his shoulder, and they watch the sunset. No dialogue is even needed because I think that kind of scene can speak louder than words.

Anyone thought of how Quarians dress for weddings? No way they don't have some sort of ceremonial clothes for that, likely handed down to conserve resources of course, but that kind of makes it more special.

We don't even know if they have weddings, do we?

We don't actually, but we do know their relationships to their parents are relatively like ours, so I couldn't imagine they don't have some sort of binding relationship status, they're not Salarians after all.

Given they have to share the small crowded spaces of live ships and they of course need to keep the population going, I imagine they probably have quite strict rules about marriage. I expect iit could be quite disruptive to ship harmony otherwise. It may even be they have arranged marriages with Quarians from other vessles.

I wouldn't see the problem with marrying on the same ship. Remember, the pilgrimage is for young quarians to find a new captain and ship to live on. If there were arranged marriages between ships that would damage the harmony of the young quarian.

If that scenario did indeed happen, this 21 year olds heart would melt and he would be reaching for tissues

I could imagine that there is device to destroy the Reapers on the Citadel which they have to activate and to defend against waves of  Reapers. After the device has fulfilled its purpose both are surrounded. Then there is a last embrace,a last "I love you", a last kiss and the whole Citadel explodes.

Um, what? Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, something like that? Yes, they should still have recoil.

But why would the kickback of a MAG have to be to the back? I mean, you do not speed the bullet from the back in a MAG, you speed it from the sides. Also, it's magnetic acceleration, the speed comes from different fields, not from a single impact. Truly believe there would not have a kickback anymore.

Must say, as it is, the second and third game got the old single shot guns back to please the players, not that it's all too sensible.

Then again, if Tali could fire her shotgun without drawback, she would rule us.

According to the wiki article on Railguns:

The recoil force exerted on the rails is equal and opposite to the force
propelling the projectile. The seat of the recoil force is still
debated. The traditional equations predict that the recoil force acts on
the breech of the railgun. Another school of thought invokes Ampère's force law and asserts that it acts along the length of the rails (which is their strongest axis).[7]
The rails also repel themselves via a sideways force caused by the
rails being pushed by the magnetic field, just as the projectile is. The
rails need to survive this without bending, and must be very securely
mounted

Doesn't make it much clearer really.

Don't you feel like the whole game was rushed? It's shorter than the others...

Really? I thought that Mass Effect 3 was longer than Mass Effect 2 in terms of length, though I still think the first one is the biggest, by far. Rushed? Yeah, I can tell, especially near the ending, and the plotholes.

Quarians are just about the weakest melee race in the multiplayer though.

I heard they also have less of a carrying capacity than other races, but not sure if they can run fast or if they also have less health.

She always did seem like the sniper type, but shes just so cute with that shotgun

It's kinda funny, in Mass Effect 1, a screenshot is shown of her using a sniper rifle, while in 2 and 3, she uses a shotgun. I wish I could give my squadmates any weapon I choose, id give Tali both a shotgun AND a sniper rifle. The best part is weight doesn't affect her cooldowns on her powers.

Remember the whole Echo shard thing with Javik. Isn't seeing them and reliving the best moments of a spectacular series worth the pain of knowing its all relativily moot for now.

I don't know. The memories are gone...but so is the pain. I'll probably stick to not remembering Tali and having all the pain go away than to remember Tali and realzing my life was full of nothing but pain. Or ill just remember how Tali led me through the darkness and pain my Shepard endured.

True, also, white has for a while been a celebratory color due to it's hard to maintain property - not much is white by nature, and most things don't stay white for long.

Then again, I believe a Quarian marriage would be an oath as well, basically to give yourself up for the other, doing everything you can to preserve each other. No matter where in the galaxy they might be, to be together shall be the goal. Also, to reach the homeworld together and found a family there. And of course to do your darndest to please each other in any way possible.

Maybe also a mentioning of the other being off-limits to others from now on, and to defend each other from any peril. Basically the reason marriage-like arrangements exist.

See?! I told you guys a touching scene didn't require dialogue. So long as you guys don't force me to write an ending fan fic now. I'm just trying to make a point and wet your appetite a little.

I would be happy to take such a oath for Tali.  I would much rather die than to break Tali's heart or do something horrible to her.

TrueMadayar I touched on why marriage isn't necessary for Tali and Shep in my really long wall of text post. They don't need papers to tell them they belong to eachother, because their love is so strong that they know the other feels the same and wouldn't knowingly do anything to compromise that. They just need to be together, and after a war's come and destruction has been the main theme in recent, building a house is more literally and symbolically significant than them "being off limits to others" - a mind set that already exists in Shepard and Tali.

In terms of a marriage, i don't think there would really need to be anything formal. A scene w/ shep and tali by themselves, pledging to be with eachother would be perfect imo.

If anything, children should definately come after marriage, when at that time, we would have a clear idea of whether or not it would be best for us to adapt (Despite what Garrus may say about dextro-human children, it is stated to be impossible.)  As for the house, it probably should come before marriage; I don't think id want to marry only to head back to the quarian hotel and celebrate our honeymoon.

Garrus will definately be the best man at the wedding, by the way.

That is true...a marriage is not required to know that they are meant to be together, they already know that deep inside their hearts.  A wedding or some other ceremony is really a public nod that both of them are together.  I certainly wouldn't mind hosting one if I had the funds, and im sure the crew will not mind attending it.  It's time Joker got out of that cockpit and got some fresh Rannoch air.

Joker would be the second choice, in case Garrus is too busy making calibrations to the wedding plans.

Oh get out of here.  This threads closing down anyways, there's no more hope for Tali or anybody.

Nah, just kidding.  It's a joke from 7-10 pages ago.  Here's the quotes:

Yeah, you're right. Let's just close the thread, guys. Everybody go home.

Fair enough, we had a pretty good run. Image IPB

Ah well looks the thread is done for now. Crawl back into the holes from you which you came everyone.

I guess there's nothing for it; we're all going to have to get lives now. Damn, I was really hoping to avoid that!
