Many people, having followed the series for the past few years, might have difficulty grasping the concept of it ending... myself, included. Still, it's not like Mass Effect itself is over, right?

...it is. The destruction of the Mass Relays is a molotov cocktail thrown at the franchise. The galaxy as we know and love it is no more.

Wait, in the arrival dlc when you destroy the mass relay, it destroys the solar system... You just blew up like eighteen... in that case yes the entire Milky way is destroyed... Correct me if im wrong. I was going on that by memory.

Even if it isn't that kind of explosion, and am not saying that, still killed galaxy as known. FTL impractical due to fuel needs, need to discharge drive every so often, and fairly limited speed.  No interaction. Lots of dead colonies. All Shepard's fault.

Death of Reapers, death of Mass Effect as is known.

Yeah, the ending could have been the worst pyrrhic victory ever, but it would've been okay, Mass Effect was still Mass Effect. But without the relays... Mass Effect is gone. There's no council or traveling around the galaxy or anything. Everyone goes back to living on their worlds, by themselves, isolated.

Sadly, the Normandy crew seems to have gotten the worst end of the stick. At least the ones that aren't compatible with the planet, which is probably the dextros. :(

Yeah, that ending failed spectacularly, in every level an ending can fail at.

As I was getting close to it, I was assuming that Shepard probably wasn't going to survive (the biggest clue was Tali saying she wanted more time, but there were other things). But I didn't feel that bad about it. "Well, whatever happens, I'll do (or not do) whatever is necessary for her to survive. And at least she has her homeworld now. So it'll all be okay."

Then Shepard just had to collapse on that platform that took him up to see the star kid. <_<

Starchild certainly didn't help ending's failure. Circular logic.
But perhaps bigger problem is was ending. Singular.
Assumed would be consequences, possiblity of survival, maybe at cost of higher casualties, along with possibility of abject failure. None of that. All supposedly different endings leave Reapers dead, but galaxy in trouble.

And Tali'Zorah vas Normandy...our Tali...my Tali...trapped on random garden planet that likely doesn't have life she can consume. Bioware dropped ball, now have heads in sand.

I always figured I would hate the ending of the third game, regardless of what actually happened. Just the fact that this particular story is over.

Possible, and probably, different form of explosion. Not the same as flying a ship right into it. Definitely many, many more than 18.

That is why the endings must change, right?
For Tali,
and the rest of the galaxy.
But mainly Tali.

Yes.  We will hold the line.
As long as it takes for Bioware to notice, and to justify our faith in them.
(A severely tested faith, by now.)

Do we know they kicked him out? It was my understanding that he worked on SWTOR and then left Bioware to work on his novels.

He did leave for SWTOR. But he left Mass Effect. The games' forgetfulness of indoctrination, I believe, is evidence of this. I cannot remember a mission, excluding dialogue, where there was indoctrination mentioned; only the zombiefied, genetically altered aliens/humans were the reaper's lap dog. IMO, this was a crippling blow to the third game's sophistication.
Again, I'm probably biased.

Alright, you guys. Tali asked them. They can't refuse.

Every day I find myself hoping less and less that the ME3 ending gets fixed, and more resigned to simply pretend that it never happened. I never played ME3, I played ME2.5, and ME3 is going to come out the day after I die. Losing all hope in resolution of the series, and in the gaming industry in general.

Interesting considering they pretty much destroyed Revan's character in TOR...still upset about that flashpoint dungeon...whatever. <_<

We need less heads in the sand and more pencils to paper to write a better ending imo.

BW said there would be an announcement in April. So give them time. They have to decide on what they're going to do, how they can improve the ending without compromising their original intent for it (we might not care about that, but I can bet you the writers will), and that takes time.

Keep on hoping! For vectron!

Huh? I remember there being several mentions of the reapers indoctrinating leaders so they would try to convince the population to not resist.

Plus, TIM and quite probably Kai Leng were both indoctrinated too.

Strange, then, that on the frontline where you fought, none of your fellow soldiers were affected.
EDIT: Also, I hate to be picky, but that indoctrination was a little weird, you have to admit.
