Normandy to the rescue is too predictable. Shepard should either break out using a Makolol or have someone up there with him that is more able bodied. IE: tali and garrus followed him up. Hackett tried to stop them but couldn't. Maybe a little side story from their POV how they made it up there to make it more believable.

My best advice to you: write it how you want it. It is your fanfic after all. If you think of an ending that makes sense to you, gives you your desired ending, and makes you less depressed about the real ending, then just go with it.
Yeah, just thought i'd do what the devs didn't and ask the important people for advice, and input. Think i've got my final choice now, so THANKYOU GUYS!

Right guys, if i can distract us from Shakespeare and religion, I NEED YOUR HELP!
As some of you know, i'm writing a fanfic Tali ending. I've blocked most of the stuff, but there is one section i could use your help with.
I need to get Shep off the citadel. I have ideas, but don't know how possible they would be.
1: Normandy comes to rescue.
2:Fighter ship crashes into citadel, and shep uses it for his escape
3.Shep goes back thru the conduit.
4: Shep finds his way to the docks, and gets a small ship outta there.
The problems i have with some is i'm not sure if there are shields in the way that could goes sheps demise if anything were to go thru them.
Ideas? *Innocently looking towards the creative mancers*Ryder...Gamer__girl**
Your help is appreciated.
Just quickly scanned where everyone else is coming from on this. I agree about the Normandy being perhaps too obvious, though it does allow you to get everyone together quickly.
The Conduit is tricky because there wasn't a defined exit point on the citadel (Shep and Anderson appeared in seperate places). However that doesn't mean it can't be worked and with a bit of creative re-timing of the canon ending perhaps he could end up onboard the Normandy with the crew before the Relays start blowing up.
Navigating the Citadel itself probably makes the most sense for an escape, though it makes it perhaps more difficult to get him back with his crew. If Shepard has some control over the Citadel at that point he can turn off any force fields or anything else that is a problem and find a quick route to the docks, perhaps picking up some survivors on the way (though it could simply be implied when he got to the docks that others had survived and left ahead of him, like he see's a ship flying off as he get's there (leaving it totally open who could have survived) and manages to find another smaller ship of some type).
It could also be funny if he was saved by Conrad Verner at that point.
Another option may be to have him get to the Crucible part and perhaps gain assistance from it's crew (assuming it still has anyone there). Possibly Kasumi or some Rachni or something. It'd be cool for him to escape in a Rachni ship.
Since there appears to be loads of hidden stuff in the citadel no one has found he could even find an ancient ship built in to the citadel that he can fly off as the place falls apart. Perhaps a ship belonging to the Citadels builders (maybe a Keeper ship).
Anyway, there's some ideas.

She's an uber Christian bigoted hag, who just so happens to cook the most mealy and dry turkey that could ever be. FML
Quick, help me think of a way out of it! What would Tali do... *strokes chin*

The ending of ME3 was exceptionally lazy, especially the parts pertaining to tali, as well as the rest of the squadmates and crew.XenoAlbedo wrote...
Good point. Nothing Tali is lazy.
Tell the old hag that you are a lesbian, and that her cooking sucks. In the uproar, you can make your escape.

I'll find a way...
If I were magic, I could sprout spikey wings and horns and tell her I'm a succubus, but unfortunately magic doesn't exist.
But if only... Hogwarts would exist if magic existed... *lost in daydream*

This reminds me of how I occasionally drop subtle bits of paganism and witchcraft around my mother-in-law to be...
*hint hint*
It's fun and amusing at the same time as not being bluntly confrontational. Makes them squirm in the most delightful way.
