If she doesn't show us her face willingly then my Shep will crack her visor open with a hammer.

^ Love the randomness that happens round here sometimes, brightens my day alittle.
And someone mentioned hammers earlier... when are we going to get a pic of a Tali-banhammer, I've seen it mentioned in previous threads before but I have yet to see it.

(To any MODS, don't take that the wrong way and show a image of Tali and then banning me, Posted Image thanks.)

Plus I finally got a Tali lithograph... only being searching for bloody months.
Still its nice to see Tali everytime I walk into the room, now that does bring a smile on my face. Too bad she an't real though  Posted Image

Talked to one of the level designers about tali's placeholder, he wasn't willing to say why the bottom of her face got axed in ME2. What could this mean?

It's a little out there, but I have this wild theory that, like most of her head, Tali's lower face is covered by her helmet...

He probably didn't have anything to say because level designers don't have much to do with what characters look like. They are 2 different departments.

You guys are underestimating the importance of Tali's Pilgrimage and her fathers position, First of all, Tali was researching the GETH movement and just stumbled upon some serious evidence of outside interference among the GETH, she brought the evidence to the Citadel, but knowing the angst against her people she needed a relay to the council. Eventually she came upon Shep, and successfully delivered the evidence.

Shep was her star of hope ever since he/she became a spectre, she started admiring him/her, and eventually that changed into romantic feelings (if Male, though I am sure it would work with female as well :D)

If you go through her plotlines again, and her conversations during missions, Tali is far smarter than she lets you see, and her morality is extremely high, she herself is a Paragon, while the Salarian is merely a neutral renegade.

Tali makes the game entertaining purely through her chatter and conversations, but the lines she makes in mission conversations are amazing, given time and resources she would be far better than Mordin.

Going back to her Pilgrimage, we never actually heard she fully completed it, I think what she brought back to the flotilla is hope that they can better understand the GETH, alas some of the Admiralty Board members took it the wrong way and now want to wage war on them. Tali's experience with Legion is essential to stopping the war and actually making peace with the GETH.

Who wants to bet we don't get to choose and gonna have to win the war with the GETH one way or the other ? we don't get to choose to stop the war at all :P I'm betting Bioware will make us take part in it instead of stopping it, something I was hard working in ME2 to prevent, Bioware is gonna waste :P AGAIN!

The real reason for Tali's Pilgrimage is to learn about GETH and return Quarrians to their homeworld again, Tali being the Paragon type, she will want a peaceful resolution, especially after what she went through with Legion, so if Bioware isn't putting the completion of the Pilgrimage for Tali in ME3, I'd say they screwed up the whole lore&plot.

Aside for Shepard, Tali is the most important character in ME series and her importance is the highest in ME3 where a lot of stuff between GETH and Quarrians is resolved, Legion reffers to tali as creator, which means the GETH still revere quarrians, the reason why they banished them is self defense of their existence. Although there may have been other reasons we don't know about yet and probably will never learn, seeing what approach Bioware makes.

Tali doesn't actually need to be a Party member of ME3 to be very important in the game story, but she definitely needs to be around Shepard, I waited with my infiltrator for ME2 cuz I knew Tali will be a romance plot character :) i want to continue that :)

I will not even point out that Tali is the best female in the game...again :D

Oh and by popular demand :D

OK, now I'm intrigued. Can you go into more detail over what was said during the conversation? What did you ask about Tali's placeholder face and what exactly did the designer say?

I've been out of the loop for a week or so and have missed pretty much all of the SDCC chat. Is there anything new on the Tali front? Did we get to see/hear from the lovely Liz Sroka?

Thanks folks ^_^

I hate to say that, but Tali front looks miserable :crying:
nothing new. except occasional fan-made artwork from DA...

Oh man, thats extremely depressing. Lets hope we get something soon. Seems like there has only been news on a couple of characters so far so hopefully there is lots of Tali work going on behind the scenes.

ME3 cant have enough Tali as far as im concerned. Would be nice to get a new official pic or just a tiny little bit of info. Oh well, plenty of time between now and march i guess. The wait goes on

Personally I think they have very little time to cover the final lore into the last game part, ME3 is to be rather huge, unless they plan on ME4 and so on, but that wouldn't look good then.

Tali should play a large role in this game part anyways, her logic is helping out a great deal. Shep without Tali...I don't see that coming ...

Assumptions, assumptions...
Havoc10K wrote...

So let me get this straight. The ONLY thing you find entertaining about this game is listening to Tali?

Quite frankly, her accent is kind of grating. Opinions gonna opin.
Havoc10K wrote...

Far better at what? They have two completely different sets of skills.
Havoc10K wrote...

Yes we do. We hear it in the first 15 minutes of the second game.
Havoc10K wrote...

, I think what she brought back to the flotilla is hope that they can better understand the GETH
Nope, she knew it was for weapons testing, and she completely supported it. She's not a goddamn saint, and this is a good thing.
Havoc10K wrote...

, alas some of the Admiralty Board members took it the wrong way and now want to wage war on them.
They've ALWAYS wanted to wage war on the geth.
Havoc10K wrote...

Tali's experience with Legion is essential to stopping the war and actually making peace with the GETH.
Experience? She greatly dislikes having Legion on board and objected to Shepard bringing him aboard in the first place. The reason she would want to broker peace with the geth is not because she "understands" them, but because her people will die if they go to war. She has no interest whatsoever in protecting the interests of the geth.
Havoc10K wrote...

There are likely 3 paths, 2 regular and 1 golden ending where you broker peace between them.
Havoc10K wrote...

No. You have completely missed the point.
Havoc10K wrote...

Assumptions.
Havoc10K wrote...

, she will want a peaceful resolution, especially after what she went through with Legion
But she hates him and all geth equally.
Havoc10K wrote...

so if Bioware isn't putting the completion of the Pilgrimage for Tali in ME3, I'd say they screwed up the whole lore&plot.
No, you screwed up some basic "Pay-attention-and-don't-miss-the-point".
Havoc10K wrote...

Aside for Shepard, Tali is the most important character in ME series
Absolutely not.

Anderson, Hackett, the Council and the Admirals, Legion, Mordin, even especially Liara is more important than her.
Havoc10K wrote...

and her importance is the highest in ME3 where a lot of stuff between GETH and Quarrians is resolved
No. The Admirals and Legion will all be more important than her in that matter. She will be INVOLVED, yes, but not important unless she is made an Admiral, which I strongly oppose.
Havoc10K wrote...

, Legion reffers to tali as creator, which means the GETH still revere quarrians
No. A father doesn't stop being a father because he tries to murder his children. The same way, the quarians does not stop being the creators of the geth because they tried to destroy them. That does not mean the geth "revere" their creators. Quite opposite, in fact.
Havoc10K wrote...

, the reason why they banished them is self defense of their existence.
The geth didn't banish the quarians, they chased them out of their own territory with guns blazing and nearly exterminated them in order to reduce them as a military threat, which was the only efficient way for the geth to prevent future wars.

It was a poor choice, but it's not like something can be done about it now.
Havoc10K wrote...

Although there may have been other reasons we don't know about yet and probably will never learn, seeing what approach Bioware makes.
You have obviously never heard of spin-offs or an expanded universe.
Havoc10K wrote...

Tali doesn't actually need to be a Party member of ME3 to be very important in the game story
Correction: she doesn't need to be a party member in ME3 to be a character in the game. She is still less important than the Admirals and Legion within the QuarianVsGeth-arc, and even less important than everyone else on the large scale.
Havoc10K wrote...

, but she definitely needs to be around Shepard, I waited with my infiltrator for ME2 cuz I knew Tali will be a romance plot character :) i want to continue that :)
Good for you.

wut ? this is a Tali support thread and you go bash it ?

so my opinion about Tali is something you don't agree with ? that is your choice, and I don't mind that, but, forcing your opinion on other people makes you ... something I don't really want to write here.
It's my opinion about the character, if you don't like it, it's your choice, it is much easier to write "I disagree with you" than trying to force your opinion on me.

I see that missing the point is a rather large character trait of yours.

For the record, your post was riddled with factual inaccuracies or blatantly baseless assumptions about Tali and the quarians in general, and I called you out on it.

Deal with it.

Havoc10K wrote...

Your post was factually incorrect. Factually. If you know what that word means, that is.

Your "opinion" is obviously that you like the character enough to border on obsession, which makes you no different from a handful or hundred of other 'mancers. Which I don't particularly care for either way. I like Tali as well, but nowhere as close as you.

Havoc10K wrote...

I don't disagree with you, reality and 20+ pages of background material does.

If you don't want to get criticized for pulling facts and assumptions out of your ass, do some research next time and not let your intoxicating love for Tali cloud your judgement.
