Tali's suicide is probably the most tragic (individual) death in ME3, only comparable with if you let Samara die and kill Falere.

I really don't think you'd want to save Tali in the long run, if she survived, she wouldn't be Tali anymore, but rather a Quarian Javik, essentially.

Morning. Thinking back I would say that I always had some level of attraction to Tali, but knowing that I could only romance Liara or Ash in ME1, never really though of it in detail until ME2. But it shows perhaps where my mind was that I didn't specifically romance one or the other of those, it just happened that I was slightly further ahead with Liara when the Normandy was grounded. From ME2 it was largely thanks to Kelly pointing out Tali's interest in me and I realized she was a LI so started taking notice in a big way, even though you have to wait quite a while before she brings it up herself. By the time she did, there was no way I was going to say no.

Actually it's the opposite, which is what makes it so tragic. Mordin dying to cure the genophage was extremely meaningful, both for the Krogan and himself, so that was almost beautiful in a way. Tali's death is just pure desperation, loss, the result of the loss of her people, it's not a meaningful sacrifice.

Watch his death.
How he struggles on heroic willpower (any Shepard who does this is no hero.) but ultimately fails...
Tell me they're not similar.

Although Mordin's is quite sad too.
Sad, but not as tragic. Mordin was nearing the end of his short Salarian life anyway and his death was actually an act of redemption for him. I think he went up in that lift with no regrets and feeling that he had always done the right thing, but now finally his brain and heart are both content to believe that (where before they disagreed).
It's a little similar with Legion too because he is sacrificing himself to grant his species true sentience/
For Samara there is an element of that too, though it turns out there was another solution. She wasn't killing herself just out of grief but to protect her daughter.
However for Tali... well there is nothing but tragedy there. Glad I'll never take that route with her. It must be even worse for those that did and then took the "destroy" choice at the end, so betraying Tali and wiping out her people ends up completely meaningless as the Geth get destroyed anyway. Hmmf, I don't even want to think about it.

Yeah I did the same and told the dalatrass to shove it.
The moment that i found out that you could romance Tali in ME2 i remember going back to ME1 and going through that whole game all over again without romancing anyone just because of that reason. I suspect many people here did the same.

And i could never witness Tali kill herself.
I hated that choice. I wanted peace between the quarians and geth, and when legion mentioned the upload, there were only two choices! No persuasion! Fingers crossed, and shaking like a nervous wreck, i allowed him to upload the data. Tali tried to get through gerrel. Fail! I'm thinking NOOOOOO! and that the paragon persuade came up! YES! Then i was still a nervous wreck until the scene was over.
