Depressingly: It was all my fault.

Are you an Elcor now?

I am many things.

But it was a throwback to a conversation(yesterday?) about what race we'd likely be in the mass effect world.

I determined I'd probably be an elcor.

Hmm... probably Salarian for me.

Eh, I think they are all mostly rounded. When your affection for a person/character reaches a certain level you begin to overlook the flaws more than you would otherwise. Where as the other characters who you might like less are hammered even harder because you can pick out their flaws better.

agreed, I'm sure Liara and Ashley are great to be around after more time, but I personally liked Tali from the get-go. She always stood out, while Ashley felt too severe and Liara felt a bit awkward. Tali just clicked for me.

I prefer the term "resonate" personally. I feel that the end goal is to find someone whose frequency resonates with yours.

Probably Turian. I'm fairly solitary but operate for the greater good of the community.

Wait...that's kinda Quarian too.

Exactly why I'm asking the question, though I suppose by that logic the perspectives I'm likely to recieve are similar to my own. I try to look at it objectively though.

Lets see, Tali's "flaws" could be interpreted as:
-Bubble/Sick girl syndrome. She becomes ill easily, complicating normal relationy stuff. She can't eat your food.

-"Daddy issues". She resents her father for not being openly caring... actually, that's a pretty normal reaction.

- Wanting you to hide evidence to save her father's reputation... um, also a pretty normal reaction.

-Suicidal. She's the only person of her species left because the betrayal of trust from those closest to her. Yeah, again... I'd say that reaction isn't outside the bounds of normalcy.

-Oh yeah, hi... she's an alien.

Besides these contentions, I still find her personality less annoying than the other female LI's.

Huh.  Wasn't there a bit hooplah a few days ago over the lmpossibility of there being two girls in this thread?  Kinda ironic...

Anyway, done with French test, got a few hours to kill before Journalism.  Might hop on ME3 and play some multiplayer.  Anybody else on PS3?  My Krogan Sentinel and Quarian Infiltrator need friends...  :crying:

Amazingly there's actually three females in the thread.:bandit:

Tempting, but no. Tali has Shepard. Quarians are my favorite, and I can relate most to them.

Tali is also:

Extremely emotionally dependent and clingy. I don't necessarily mind that but there are a lot of people who that would drive nuts.

Lacking in self-confidence

Indecisive.

I think our first suit link should take place in the fish tank...or underwater.  It would make for a unique scene.  I just hope I don't fill Tali's suit with water and cause her to nearly drown on our first try.

Sorry, couldn't find a picture of Shepard or Tali linking suits together.  But have this instead:

Well, I won't lie.  Tali is not perfect, by any means.  But neither is Shepard or I.  However, I willing to put those differences aside for Tali.  She has the ability to learn, adapt and improve.  Shepard adds to that value greatly.

Well, let me clarify. She's technically "possessive" but I would infer clinginess from that trait. The problem is due to the game medium and the circumstances surrounding their relationship I don't think we get a good view of it.

It's what I consider implied from the mass effect 3 dialogue.

Of course she isn't. And those issues will effect peoples opinions on different levels. We all have our flaws, some critical, and others not. The important aspect comes is whether two flawed people resonate with eachother. I think Shepard and Tali do greatly. They are a great balance in terms of Strengths/Weaknesses.

I do offer some caution when thinking of ideas like "improving". Generally, while someone is welcome to change aspects of themselves they don't like...I do not consider that a viable way to approach a relationship. You should be happy with who they already are and support any changes they desire to make, but don't encourage.

I don't see the possessiveness as being out of bounds. Sure, she says "You're mine", but it's out of reassurance to Shepard more than "I own your ass!!" Catty dialogue before the geth dreadnought was just catty (hilarious. sad I missed it). Her unwillingness to share Shepard is also something I see as normal, unless you're of the polyamorous mentality.

There should be a comic strip, ''Lulz on the Normandy'' depicting Shepard playing practical jokes on the crew.

Tali is emotionally deep, but she can only show it in private. She wants other to belice she is strong. "Can we keep this quiet, at least in front of the Admirals?"

Hmm...I shall keep this in mind then.  Even though I doubt such a conflict will pop up in Tali's in-game relationship, you never know...
