Ah, thank you for bringing those up. I never found her clingy, though... and I've known quite a few clingers...

neither did I. I thought she actually got stronger since ME2, maybe a bit overwhelmed being an admiral and with good reason, she's probably one of the youngest Quarians to be put in such a high-level position, and it is a big resposibility to have a part of deciding how 17 million people act. She willingly accepted the position as well, albeit with some reluctance.

Not saying she doesn't have faults, but recent events have helped iron out some of this, I think.

At least Tali isn't a homewrecker. I'm sure if my Shep had been romancing somebody else, she wouldn't have tried to intervene out of nowhere and threatened to cut me off unless I broke up with my significant other and got with her. *glares at Jack*

There should be a comic strip, ''Lulz on the Normandy'' depicting Shepard playing practical jokes on the crew.

I was just thinking this, only with Garrus drawing bits of anatomy in magic marker on Tali's mask after she passed out drunk. Then Tali subsequently murdering Garrus.

Well, let me clarify. She's technically "possessive" but I would infer clinginess from that trait. The problem is due to the game medium and the circumstances surrounding their relationship I don't think we get a good view of it.

It's what I consider implied from the mass effect 3 dialogue.

I don't see the possessiveness as being out of bounds. Sure, she says "You're mine", but it's out of reassurance to Shepard more than "I own your ass!!" Catty dialogue before the geth dreadnought was just catty (hilarious. sad I missed it). Her unwillingness to share Shepard is also something I see as normal, unless you're of the polyamorous mentality.

No, I'm soley within the Monogamy trend. Yes, I'm aware it was used for other reasons. But overall her words tend to suggest possessiveness.

The problem is the effect of it is tempered by her lack of confidence. She's routinely doubting herself, re-affirming, and then doubting herself over again.

After she said "You're mine" I almost expected her to come out with "...well, I mean, if you still want to...I'd understand if you don't."

She's an amazing character with some real depth. Some of the "issues" are up for debate. Overall though her positives far outweigh the flaws. In fact, her flaws help define her character as they all help define us. I don't believe people are wrong when they say something along the lines of "I love you BECAUSE of your flaws". They shape us as much as our strengths.

Considering it warrants murder, are we talking about very certain bits of anatomy that only pertain to one gender?

If she was that clingy we wouldn't have to wait until more then half way through ME3 to hook up with her again. She's not the most confident or decisive person though, your right there. She has her moments in regards to making clear and confident decisions, but it's clear she has to fight off a lot of self doubt a lot of the time.

Replace her shotgun with a replica that just pops out one of those little ''BANG'' flags.

I came into this thread JUST to break the laws of physics. :wizard: And to mention that Tali makes the best little sister a FemShep could possibly ask for, and if my Shepard had a suit, they would have linked suits in a platonic way!

I don't think clingy means what you think it means. It's not purely used in the physical state of you know, clinging to something.

Well either way, you're locked up in alliance HQ for 6 months and the Quarians are relatively cut off from anything that would be considered "recent" events. Since they are mobile, they likely don't always have access to the extranet (as it goes through booey's and I'm not sure what the range on those things are).

She has responsibilites. A clingy person doesn't necessarily ditch them.

But again, it's debatable. But my experience with the games have lead me to draw that conclusion.

Yes, that's when you know someone really cares about you. Our flaws are as much part of us as our strengths, but as they are harder to accept in many ways they are more defining of who we really are. The same goes for fictional characters and it's the best designed fictional characters that actually have flaws that you grow to love as much as that characters strengths. Tali is a great example.

I think it's good that they didn't have her stammer at that line. Her confidence has increased immensely since the first game, notwithstanding the fact that she's a reluctant leader of her people (a MASSIVE leap in responsibility she honestly is nowhere near ready for). Other than that, she's grown as a character, and that's quite positive. She wasn't sure about her relationship with Shepard in ME2, but she's solidified it in ME3. That's not possessiveness, that's confidence and stability.

Agreed.

By the way, my intensions weren't to be solely arguementative, I'm not just trying to draw this out as long as possible. Hopefully, no one was annoyed. It was a good conversation.

Nah, good conversation if you ask me. Helps put more understanding into Tali's thoughts and actions. Make her feel more "human".

You can not be argumentative unless you have no actual content or defense. It's arguing for the sake of arguing or being prone to disagreement.

When you have a point to make, it's debate. And civil debate is healthy.

I wasn't imagining her stuck in permahug mode. But it seems like she makes no attempt to contact you or keep in touch at all over the whole time your locked up in alliance HQ, or once your out and flying around the galaxy. If she wanted to get a message to you, I'm sure she could have. You could have helped her out, but she decided you were probably busy. I can't really see that as clingy.

Sure she has some insecurity, but then your Shepard, hero of the Galaxy. That's a fairly good reason to be insecure even if there is really no chance of Shepard leaving her (well the Shepards of anyone in this group anyway).

Oh wow. My state is trying to pass an anti trolling law. But it's so broad that if I were to accidentally offend another 'mancer simply because I Talimanced, I could be fined and get 6 months in jail. Yeah screw AZ.
