I was editing the original, but got stuck on the neck. So I got lazy and slapped it on the canon picture. Manipulating that wasn't so hard, but of course head transplants are hard to look natural. When I'm back at home and on my main PC I will give it a proper go (with the original). The other thing was there are no hands visible on the original, so it wouldn't look that obviously Quarian. For now, that's it.

I swear some of these drawings and even the photoshopped pictures you guys turn out are just amazing. Makes me wish i continued doing my art back in school.

From my experience, this is the order from most to least:
(Note:This is not including romance (saving for tali), and I talked to everyone every single time I boarded the normandy)

I didn't notice it was quite so bad when I played, but I did notice Tali is a bit neglected. She doesn't get a special mission, unless you include the brief bit where you save and recruit her and she's not romancable (all three of those seem to have extra dialogue even if you don't/can't romance them). She does mostly just stand around quietly in engineering. Obviously BW didn't expect her to be the break out hit of the series. But then BW do have a habbit of making bad assumptions about their fans interests. At least they took notice and improved her role in ME2.

Well, you can get her some geth data for her pilgrimage.  But unless you've done it before (or you do a lot of random exploring), you really have to look for it.


Edit:  Like I said before though, despite her encylopedia status in ME1, I still found myself wanting to romance her.

The slap on Geth data thing was a little bit weak, but still I was happy I could help her. I was left wishing I could romance her too, her writers, artists and actress did a great job with a small role. That's actually something that seems to happen a lot in these games. The amount of time dedicated to a character is never much of an indication of the actual quality.

I did look at that one to start with, but I have to admit the curly hair looked so good on her I found myself drawn to the other picture. When I return to it I may change my mind. Though I want to do Claudia Black too. Also, photoshop her picture. *ahem*

Well in that case it comes down to immersion. In a game (RPGs, mostly) if I have the option to make Mainhero McGuy look like me, I do it. Besides, Sheploo needs more hair. He looks like a boot (recruit).

Sheploo. Mostly anyway. When lost my sanity and decided to replay ME3 on the off chance the ending seemed less terrible second time around, I decided to do the old "tweak it until it looks vaguely like yourself" thing. Though I kinda ended compromising between that and Sheploo. Pretty much ended up Sheploo with more hair (though a long way from mine) and a goatie. My serious play throughs for all three games used Sheploo. It seems to fit the voice right and makes it less wierd when I watch scenes on youtube (well most scenes, sometimes they are done with bizzare custom Sheps).

Sheploos rape face is great, someone should edit that smile together with Tali's ''Uh... ok.'' response to Javik in ME3.

I play default Shep. I dunno, I just see him as the "real" Shep when I try to play. Maybe if I actually force myself to make a new one and play through with him, I'll change my mind. But when I think of Shepard... I think of "Sheploo" as his nickname seems to be.

It's because default Shepard is modeled off some Dutch model who's name ends loo, thus sheploo.

My canon Shepard who romanced Tali does use the default Sheploo face - honestly, I think it's still the best face that MaleShep can have, plus his design and expressions works wonderfully with a Shepard/Tali romance in my opinion.

(then again, I also have a hard time designing any decent custom MaleShep faces, unlike my custom FemSheps which usually turn out great-looking)

I use a custom Shepard that is pretty much the default character creator face (The one that's already there when you choose to make a custom face), with the sliders slightly adjustes to give a slimmer face, as well as hair and stubble added on. I found out later that I had inadvertantly made it look a bit like Mark Meer himself, so it just seems to fit the male Shep voice a bit better.

Ah.  Thank you for that clarification.

Of course, maybe part of why I like Sheploo is because I have a somewhat similar appearance.  

I've had long hair for most of my life.  A few months ago, I finally got it cut really short.  Like... really short.  XD  When my girlfriend saw my new haircut, she was immediately convinced I looked like Commander Shepard.  It also helped that I had a 5 o'clock shadow at the time, I suppose.  Her ME-playing friends also agreed, so for awhile there were many jokes made about me being Commander Shepard, and "X" being my favorite "Y" in the Citadel. 


If I ever go to a convention, I'm totally going as Shepard.  I've been trying to convince my girlfriend to go as Tali.  But noooooo, she wants to be Leliana from Dragon Age...
