I doubt that. As much as she loves Shepard, I don't think his death stacks up against the death of her entire race, whom she has been brought up to be fiercely loyal to since birth.Bfler wrote...
Maybe it is better that she is not LI in ME 1. The emotional impact after Shepards death could have overwhelmed her at this time and then it maybe would have ended like on Rannoch.

Yes, but I don't think Tali is so insecure that the death of a lover would cause her to commit suicide. She is far stronger than that.Bfler wrote...

You know, I was half-hoping this was a Tali-hug moment but it was not. I had to go 'comfort' Liara instead. Too bad.

From what I do understand, yes, she was certainly less confident and more naive back then, but her will was probably just as strong then as it is now. How she'd have coped is really up in the air...

How much of Tali's kindness is due to her upbringing, and how much is due to her choices/true self?
The environment anyone grows up in helps shape who we are and our beliefs, but ultimately the choices we make are individual. So maybe the large sense of community and togetherness helped her found those kind and caring qualities, but it's her choice to act on them.
As we can see with the heavy fleet captain graal (or whatever his name is), there can be some real Quarian jerks out there.

Suicide is not something anyone would do lightly. Seeing that scene for the first time (on YouTube), I was as shocked by the fact that she did it as by her actual death.Ralix_57 wrote...
She is now, yes. Back during ME1? Well, I don't know, since I haven't actually gotten to play it all the way through. XD

But look at what it took. The death of nearly her entire people. All her hopes and dreams for the future, gone. Even if the reapers are defeated, they can never be brought back. And who's responsible for letting it happen? Shepard, the man she loves.
There is nothing left for her in that situation, so I can understand the need to end it.
But if they had been together at Shepard's death at the start of ME2, she would still have her loyalty to her people. Their numbers are so few that they can't afford to lose anyone, and she knows this. She would be hurt, extremely so. But I simply cannot believe she would commit suicide in that situation.

That's a great point. But Tali, in ME1 especially, consistantly points to the Fleet as the reason why she is how she is. To clarify my statement; how much of herself did she discover there, and how much of her changed upon seeing the outside world during her pilgrimage? (Please do SPECULATE >

I've griped about it before, but I'll say it again just to contribute: Spending 2/3 of ME2 AND 3 trying to get Tali back was way more annoying than it should have been. >.<
Edit:
Hah, not this time! For once, I will actually post a top pic!

Why is the popular opinion that Han is a jerk? Sure, he had the dreadnought fired on when Shepard, Tali, and Garrus were in it, but he was presented a great opportunity to take down the dreadnought, and they still got out fine. I don't get it...
