Afaik she wasn't very rebellious, always did right in the...flotilla's eyes, I guess. I'm sure she had a few interesting moments though. and I'd speculate that she was considered to have great potential with the fleet. A lot was expected of her to find something amazing on her pilgrimage. The fact that you can help her secure an amazing place in her society feels heartwarming, really.
Also I'd argue that her shy and endearing personality helped build Shepard up as well as the opposite(did for me anyways, I ALWAYS brought her along with me, with Garrus or Wrex being the other member).
Also, is it me or do I put too many sentences in a paragraph in my posts? Feels bleh. Needs more SPACING!

Random sidenote (happens a lot when I'm up this late): I noticed in ME2 that Tali had a lot of hatred pre-established for the geth. Think Quarians talk a lot about how much they hate the geth, or is it strictly taught in a historical sense? Like over a cup of tea, one quarian asks another "So, those geth did steal our homeplanet did they not." and the other "Why indeed they did. Those darnded machines!" (shakes three-fingered fist)
Rebellious Tali would be cute though.... but you're right. She was way too willing to please her father for a rebellious child. It must have been really lonely for her growing up, even surrounded by people. Everyone had a perception of her, but no one stopped to look at what was really beneath the mask.
A lot of her kindness must have been borne under that suffering....
