Well, I just looked at the news about the 'extended cut' DLC. Really? Are they going to call it that? At least the first Resident Evil on the PS1 called it 'directors cut' instead of 'extended cut', so they had some style unlike Mass Effect 3. And it expires 2014? Why not make it free forever? People will surely play Mass Effect 3 beyond that time, even though the third one may seem or may not seem like a trap.
So far, it only mentions, "With the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut we think we have struck a good balance in delivering the answers players are looking for while maintaining the team’s artistic vision for the end of this story arc in the Mass Effect universe" and "Through additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes, the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut will give fans seeking further clarity to the ending of Mass Effect 3 deeper insights into how their personal journey concludes.".
This gives me the idea that there won't be a epic final battle, which I suppose isn't always a bad thing, but...Mass Effect 2 did a wonderful job, especially with the music. It also gives us more hope that we might get to see Tali's house, although Tali's in-game face might still be a mystery. I am glad that they told us there WILL be free DLC and it will provide more closure. But frankly, I think its best to wait until PAX to get the real news, because who news? There could be more to it than we think. But now I am hopeful that Tali will get more time.
