I always wondered what Migrant Fleet Marines would think if they encountered just those maintenance and restoration platforms legion hints at on a recon mission.

"Sir, they're geth and..." The marine shakes his head and lowers his sniper rifle. "They're trimming bushes."

Tali looks confused at Kal who just shrugs. "We see it all the time, still don't know what to make of it."

Yeah, we are. But it was a good off-topic. And I feel a bit better knowing there are Tali fans out there who don't want to destroy the Geth as well.

Well, talking with Legion reveals that the Geth are attempting to model organic behaviour so they can understand why the Quarians tried to kill them. They do this by watching from afar (listening to our radio communications) and by conducting subtle social experiments (like the fake extranet story Legion mentions).

Judging by some of Legion's dialogue, I'd say they still have a lot to learn. Currently, Legion reminds me of an adult with asperger syndrome.

And even if we were a little off topic, the discussion was still fundementally related to the Quarians and Tali in general.

And on that extremely cheesey one liner, I'd just like to say that the other dialogue option at that point in Tali's romance gives a much better response. The way Tali says "I promise" is absolutely heart melting.

What good is the quarians' word? Treaties are made on more than just promises of good will.

You could always have another race act as an intermediary.  Hell, you could have the council step in and say that if one of them attacks the other, without a VERY good reason, then the citadel fleet would step in.

You do realise your asking me to essentially write a Peace Treaty for two fictional races at 4:03AM and I haven't slept since 10:00PM two days ago?

For the Geth to accept peace with the Quarians, a few things need to happen.

Firstly, the Geth will have to at least give the Quarians a chance to talk without shooting them.
Secondly, the Quarians will need to do the same. Then, both races need to give the other something that shows co-operation will benefit each side mutually.

The Geth can offer the Quarians a peaceful return to their homeworld. I can't think of much that the Quarians can offer besides military assistance, though with the Reapers invading I imagine that this is the one thing everyone will desperately need.

A mutually beneficial situation is what caused Legion to desire working with Shepard, so in theory it should work for just as well for the Geth and Quarians.

With Council intervention (they're more likely to deal with the Quarians if they had planets back) should either side break the terms of the peace accord.

we always end up talking about the geth/quarian war. why cant we just go ahead and make this the tali/quarian thread so we have more liberty to talk more about this without risking the thread?


I think Tali is too angry at the Geth to see them as anything but enemies. Sort of sad really..That anger probably goes a long way in her people.
