What the statement sounded very much like was "We're giving you more of what upset you in the first place" so the anger is very understandable. What the (Twitter? chat thingummy, whatever it is) posts suggest is that that isn't it and that the statement might've just been rather badly worded.Unschuld wrote...
Yay, someone else being hopeful.
I think it's disgusting to see the amount of tantrums being thrown right now, honestly. Bioware makes good and announces the release of basically what fans wanted, closure, and they do it for free. And people are b**ching about it again? Seriously? They throw a bone and all people can do is complain? SO WHAT if it's not out till summer!! It's coming!!!! Sit tight and wait a little bit more. Yeesh.... childish.

The thing is people werent after just "closure and clarity", they wanted the ending to be changed to actually make a lick of sense, which it currently doesnt. Just my opinion, but i'm honestly very wary of the dlc. Bioware has one chance to make this right. Hopefully pax will provide more details tomorrow.

Miss Merizan has me hopeful. Cautious, but hopeful. She's said before she's not privy to all the details, and doesn't know a whole lot more than we do. But still, finger's crossed for the house on Rannoch.
I'd like to shake her hand if I get the chance at PAX. Her tweets have been some of the only sources of hope in a roiling sea of malcontent and negativity.

Preconceived and rash judgements before there is much to judge is probably not a good idea. Let's say in our current position; holding the line for Tali.ViolentSleep wrote...
Actually, from what I've been following of everyone who was unhappy, closure was only one of the things people wanted. Mainly, people wanted their choices to matter and the terribad logic and motive of starkid to disappear.
I never expected Starchild to be removed (despite how awful he is), and it's still possible Bioware will screw up the Extended Edition. After the atrocious writing of the existing ending, it's not surprising people are concerned the DLC will be just as bad.
Speaking of Tali, why is Tali so bad at authority? GO

Yes. It costs twelve payments of 79.99. DLC not included.
Alternative forms of payment include cupcakes.
Wooooah, Revan made a point.
Hmmm. I'll pick cupcakes. They all taste the same though. I hope you don't like variety.

Well, I think people are justified in being cynical and to some extent, with work obviously in progress, now is a good time to be clear on what would make them happy as this content is being worked on. Once it's out, it will all be too late.
However, I do think complaining about the wait is taking it a bit too far. Seeing as only recently there was a thread in the campaign discussion forum where everyone was agreeing that they would have rather waited to get a complete game than have them rush it out. I don't see how they could release something satisfactory to anyone if they rushed it out in a few weeks.
Still, angry people will continue to be angry and the fact is until the DLC is out it's going to continue. Really it's just as futile getting wound up about the ranting as it is getting wound up about having to wait for it.

Some people need to turn their sound systems to max blast and click this link.
Clarity is enough. Obviously they're not going to rip apart the whole ending fabric of the game and reweave it. That's insanity. Clarity implies that the NONSENSICAL ending we got with the game will be CLARIFIED so it will finally MAKE SENSE.

Hmm. I had a feeling it wouldn't be so great. Closure DLC. Awesome.
I did see that picture of Merizan's tweets but...hmm. As long as Shepard can somehow reunite with Tali and not bleed out before doing so, I'll be a bit happier about that. Still wanna build that house for her but...hmm...

Oh, right. I'm not sure Tali is bad at authority, she's just uncomfortable with it and that's probably due to the weight of expectation that's been on her shoulders since she was a child (as the admirals daughter).
Top. I googled "most epic tali picture ever" and got this:

but remember how those ME2 quarians disregarded her orders, and how Haestrom was such a disaster? Tali was in charge of both. And, even when she became an honorary admiral, she didn't seem to carry much political weight.
That, and she seems relieved whenever Shepard's around. He's plenty authoritative

Though I'm sure she'll get better at that.

Yeah, she's more of a figurehead than anything else. I don't think even Shepard would be completely prepared for authority of that amount of people. He can shout for Tali though. She seems to like hearing that from him.

In the former situation, I figured it was because she wasn't actually a soldier and so wasn't respected by those under her command. Combine with her general unwillingness to be ruthless in keeping people in line, I'm not surprised they didn't listen to her. They seemed very gun ho, so probably didn't regard Tali as someone worth listening to. She was "just a mechanic".darthrevaninlight wrote...

On Haestrom...dunno. We only come in to the mission when the Geth have killed off everyone so we don't see what decisions she made or what her team was like. NO data available basically.

Well a lot of people get their entire squads wiped out and still get considered good leaders. Some Shepards for one. But also Garrus and he's one of the top leaders for the fire squad in ME2. Grunt get's his entire squad wiped out if you save the Rachni Queen. Vega got his squad wiped out too and then got awarded N7 status. I think it's a bit harsh on Tali the Haestrom thing. If they hadn't completley dropped the dark energy angle her mission could have ended up being a key event in the entire series.
As for the Admiralty position, well the fact that she was given that role says a lot. But anyone awarded honorary Admiral status is bound to face a fair amount of disrespect from other Admirals. Again you could look at Grunt there for his elevation to team leader. Of course many would think she didn't earn it. That's not true of course but Quarians are insular and don't put as much weight on her saving the whole Galaxy as we would.
She is relieved when Shepard is around, but then who wouldn't be? Well Udina maybe and some other jerks. She has confidence issues for sure, but she is capable of leadership when she needs ot be.
