You cant reall say:

"Blame EA not Bioware"

Because Bioware joined with EA to begin with.

That reminded me of the other thing that annoyed me... that they made the gameplay so much better but completely lost creativity with using it.
argh. argggg!!!!!

....anyway, Tali is really cute.

Idunno. There were a few parts that were creative, like fighting a reaper on foot with the targetting laser and running past a bajillion brutes(while also avoiding being stomped on by a reaper) trying to activate the hammers on Tuchanka. and yes, Tali is really cute. I couldn't appreciate said cuteness during the missile defense thing though. I was like, "Okay...I'm safe in this bu-...what's that red laser? OH FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-" *dead, restart SO FAR before the missiles*

My face:
*sniplol*

Yeah those parts were so much fun!!! I was so excited at them I was practically bouncing around.

But they were too far and in-between. I was expecting more... how to say it.... more missions that made the environment seem like it was part of another world. I got that sense from ME1 and 2, but not in 3. But that may have been mainly because of the lack of cities to visit. Just the Citadel apparently. Which was really lame (DA2 much?)

Wait, on what difficulty did you play it? I mean, nobody here really played it twice, anyway, right?

For I lost all my people repeatedly on the rockets, but survived it myself.

Well assuming no one here let Tali die then her role as Admiral resulted in complete success. Planet reclaimed and Geth either dead or made peace with. Plus her mission where her squad died was technically a success. The data was recovered. She also was successful on Freedoms Progress. That puts her at 3 for 3. Garrus got played and had his squad die for no reason. Vega also had his squad die for no reason as Shepard was busily fixing the situation elsewhere.

Overall I don't see any evidence for her being terrible.

But I don't mind being the only person here that thinks so. The discussion would be far too quick if everyone just agreed right away.

Yeah I agree it's more fun this way.

I think Tali just lacks the ability to be authoritative. She doubts herself too much, as slinky said before, but not only that, she is hesitant and overthinks things. That's why she was so hesitant in her relationship with even Shepard; her hesitance. Were her brain less on hyperdrive, she would be a great leader. Unfortunately, she can't look at something without dividing it and running it all over in her head; that's evident in how she apologized after her fever-induced confession.

True, but there is a lot to be said for having a leader with an element of thinking things through. Diving headlong into everything without thinking can be just as bad as overthinking things. I'd rather have a leader that makes the right decision then one that makes the fast decision. Though naturally there is a limit and there is such a thing as taking too long.

Of course I am largely defending Tali because she reflects my own personality in that mater. I'm terrible for overthinking everything. But when I have been in the position to lead a team I've made sure that when a decision is needed, I've made it. I've only ever been held back by other peoples perception of my ability to lead. I think when Tali has to make a decision, she will. But people like that can only develop if given the opportunity.

Now Tali's personal life is a trickier one because she's only responsible for herself and that is when she can become the biggest victim of her self doubt.

Cities aren't allowed in games anymore. They bore people.

Apparently few people appreciate exploring new and large cities these days.

Bioware, y u so frustrating?
It's like the order goes like this:
ME1: HUGE WORLD
ME2: Large World
ME3: run around and shoot stuff

I died on Rannoch Reaper five times. And on Tuchanka Reaper about twenty.

I didn't find the rockets too hard (although it took a few re-tries). Mind you, I'm sure being an infiltrator helps a lot there because you can cloak and leg it to the controls once they're ready.

Hoping that whatever the DLC does it doesn't change it to "squadmates on the final mission get fried by Harbinger" because I had Tali and Garrus with me :crying:

Tooootally true, was Infiltrator, as well. And I remember I had to leg it in the end to start it. But managed on my first turn.

Cause it was rushed, it was rushed...

The Rannoch reaper, I had to figure it out first. When I realized it was a minigame, I had died four times. Afterwards - never again.

The Tuchanka Reaper was FUN. That was challenging alright. Took me about ten involuntary faceplants before I managed to leg to safety.

[EDIT] My favourite Tali

I did buy a copy of Saints Row 3 the other day (going cheap on Steam). Though that series seems to be more about blowing things up and kicking people in the nuts then exploring.

Perhaps she simply doesn't like having to take charge, and taking the full responsibility (and having to answer directly for her actions to others who'll do whatever they want but whinge if someone else doesn't tick all the right arbitrary boxes for them). If she's like my (dream on) then other people bumbling around just get her exasperated, which isn't good for leadership. In situations like that I tend to get bored with trying to lead and wander off to do my own thing.

I was fine on Tuchanka, but died a lot vs the Rannoch Reaper. Took me a while to figure out where to stand and when to run. But...totally worth it. :)

Hardcore then switched to Insanity(thinking back I should have started at that difficulty). I've played through almost twice and had started up a third but...can't finish them. I'm not looking forward to doing the missile defense on Insanity though... and the problem was being stuck in a corner WHILE trying to avoid that laser. Then again, I haven't played that sequence in a while so...hmm. Idunno.

True. Although it wasn't very action packed, I LOVED the dark parts where you had to use a flashlight and could only see like...5 ft. in front of you. Kept me at the edge of my seat. Any noise made me go "WHUZZAT?!" *turn around, see nothing* ...

and yeah, 3 felt less connected even though it should have felt the most due to tying everything together. ME1 felt great with exploration...I kinda miss the Mako. Empty planets sometimes but they could be explored at least. ME2 felt SO much more connected due to the life on Omega, Illium, Citadel's Zakera Ward, the loyalty missions and really connecting with your crew...amazing. But the best part of the whole series? Experiencing all of that with Tali by my side. B)

Also, I've never played any Dragon Age game...so I can't say anything
about those but I hear DA2 was a letdown on something. Never paid too
much attention to it.

Must disagree. Tuchanka was fun, yes. Losing Mordin however gives it a blow that does not make me look forward to it all too much.

The Rannoch reaper...honestly, a minigame? That felt really lame. Same the Shuttle Gun minigame. Other than that, I should've just stayed there and told them to go fudge themselves.

Hm. I mainly enjoyed the change of pace from the way they kept making me run from point A to point B. Plus, the minigame aspect was pretty fun, but I'm also a fan of arcade games so  to me it felt pretty epic
Tuchanka.. Wrex was really bothering me. I felt like his personality was getting butchered. And Mordin was going to die, saw it coming, so it didn't bother me so much; I had mourned him the moment I saw the spoiler. I was ready for it by then.=] Sorta. When he started singing I felt my heart melt a bit.

So still buggy as ever then. Fun. I gather they withdrew the weekend awards thing? Not that I participated as I wasn't here, but I should get my community reward at least.

Not to be "that guy" but I really miss when you couldn't go 3 hours without reaching another huge, massive time sink of a city to explore and talk to every individual. The worlds felt aliiiiiiiiiiive.

I still can't figure out the point of the shuttle gun bit. I mean, I knew right away there was no way I was making a dent in the Reaper with that. When did Shepard become a complete moron?

Oh yes and the Reaper minigame... didn't that feel like a consol game. I was sure I was playing something like God of War for a moment. Good job they pay off at the end was worth it (well, providing you're set up to make peace).
