Perfection and flawless are not the same thing. There are no flaws in math or the scientific method. They are not perfect, as nothing can be perfect. But 2+2=4 in every case. Math cannot steer you wrong. While our ability to use mathmatics to solve problems is limited, that is only because of our own small powers. The scientific method is a way of solving problems that, excluding human error, is absolutely never going to fail. Because it is basically a "do it again until you find the answer" type of process, it cannot fail. Your experiments may fail, your conclusions may be invalid, but the process has no flaws that are not a product of those exercising it.
To be flawless you must not be able to diminish the value of it. If you discover new, faster ways of doing something have you not diminished the value of what came before it? Nothing created by humans will ever be flawless. I don't really care where you want to draw the line between perfection and flawless. The point stands.
Mathematics are not a universal law. They are a culmination of human observations of the world. It's how we put our observations into something with meaning. Humans however still had to make those observations in the first place. So any process that is born from them is inherently flawed. The galaxy is not built out of numbers. Numbers are something we placed upon it to explain it.
I would be careful with your use of the word never. What happens when, for whatever reason, the universe prevents us from doing it again? Oh right, we can't observe it so it doesn't exist? You're speaking in short-sighted absolutes. If someone is born in and knows only a small room with no windows or doors, she may make some conclusions about what she can observe. And then someone can knock that wall down and everything changes. Her observations and the processes born from those observations will be left irrelevent.
You have valid points to make. Your language making them is a terrible choice.

Not really. I'm not very interested in the conversation. I just have an unhealthy habit of debating a point I disagree with regardless of my interest in it.
If the conversation stops, it stops. But I don't really need to continue it elsewhere.

Quarians, I would assume, probably celebrate people rather than seasons as us farming humans do. So I'd guess they'd have days set out for more famous people.forthary wrote...
Well Tali's people did have a religion, so they probably had religious holidays. I doubt they celebrate their retreat from Rannoch, and not really much else to celebrate on the fleet. Most cultures have equinox celebrations, so I expect they had similar things and while away from their planet it may have seemed even more important to acknowledge what the seasons would have been.
Given that Rannoch is hot, perhaps their winter festival would be the bigger one. Which pretty much means Christmas and really, who doesn't like getting presents?
Then again, hard to find gifts onboard the fleet. I wonder if they have a Halloween where they all dress up as spiders.
ANd gift-wise, in Ascension, It is said that if a quarian were to have more, it would mean others had less, so everything they owned, they would not truly own, it was more borrowed and shared among others. No one had anything they actually kept to themselves, so the point of gifts would be rather meaningless.
This quarian lack of ownership would explain Tali's possessiveness towards Shepard. Once you finall get that sense of ownership... you wont let it go for anything:innocent:

Dude, It's a guitar amp made with custom vacuum tubes. I know what they are. Metasonix is a company that makes all kinds of cool stuff with them and the more antique the better. They also happen to have a sense of humour and enjoy creating things that make NASTY sounds.

Gifts would likely be a gesture of some kind. Like repairing a broken heater that the Quarian was unable to repair themselves. Gestures are things that don't need to be shared afterall and keep with their social nature.

It's totally understandable in a romantic situation regardless of who or what you are. But I guess for Tali, it has deeper meaning, as their are few things she feels are truly hers. Though then again, it does make me wonder if Shepard is Tali's or vice versa. Be interesting to see them get into a fun argument over who belongs to who...
I rarely get gifts that have a special meaning, and if I had some quarian friends, they may be more likely to give me a gift that meant something.

It does not matter that mathmatics does not exist as a law, it performs all of its functions without fail.
I believe you misread my statements abou the existance thing. If i said that if we cannot observe it, i made an error. I mean to say that if it cannot be observed, not by us or by anything else in the universe, it does not exist in the universe. Something that cannot be observed necessarily does not interact with any of the four forces, and so has no form or effect within this universe. Therefore, it does not exist within this universe.
But this is really getting off topic for too long.
Here, have a most nekked tali, who would have an extensive education in physics.

So your theory is that femshep and maleshep both exist within the fiction of this picture? And why does liara have 2 kids? And why the hell does javik have one of them as a sleepy hat? And if that quarian kid is tali's, who is the father? And why would maleshep exist with tali groping femshep all over? Still confused. I'm just going to give up on trying.
