If they're going to go with tapetum lucidium I'd like it to be realistic in the portrayal. Normal lighting and they wouldn't glow... hooded in normal light and they glint... dark lighting and they shine or glow... stuff like that.

EDIT:

Also... don't feed the trolls.

You know there is a way to advoid troll's. I asked he very same question when i came on the forum's, but I posted it at night when all the troll's were out taking cattle.

They're just messing with you. Making Tali the only person who dies after the SM would be suicidal on bioware's part. The internet is full of liars, decievers, trolls, etc. I assure you, Tali will be just fine.

Needed a little variance to go with it. Just saying trolls didn't seem like much of an impact. There is a few differences between them.

Am I the only one that really likes the idea of Tali being really dark skinned?
*snip*

I don't really like the idea. Not because I don't like the colour, but because I get the impression that Tali has pale skin from what we can see through her visor.

Posted Image

Dark skin just doesn't seem plausible given the in-game evidence. It would also make more sense scientifically if Quarians had a relatively light skin tone, their skin being shielded from sunlight and all. Judging from the above screenshot I'd say Quarians have a pallor tone, similar to the one in this fan art.

You make a good point that they would be more capable of adapting to modifications, but would they have the resources to spend on non-essential modifications? Also with the danger of malfunctions of air filtration systems and the like on the fleet would they endanger people for non-essential upgrades?

I honestly can't say. Maybe some ships have better medical bays than others and so the risk of implants (and number of Quarians who get unecessary implants) varies from ship to ship?

In game screenshot (looks modified, probably a mod) and a deviant art pic.

They are not official (well tali's placeholder face is.)

Sadly your first in game image is from a third party texture mod that added eyebrows among other facial features to Tali... and greatly lightened the face.

Compare it to these image from an unmodded game...

Since we know just how tinted the visor is...

We can get a rough estimation of just how dark or light her skin color is. Looking at the two images its fairly clear that her skin is darker then the visor, this is partly why we can actually see it through the visor. Ergo she has dark skin... how dark or what hue is something we can only guess at for the moment.

But there were a few instances where you could see Tali's nose. It looked pretty gray or white to me.

Yeah... that's more evident in ME1... The reason being that since dynamic lighting on a face hidden behind a visor is a pain in the butt they lightened features they thought would receive more light then other features. It's a simple but fairly effective trick for modelers and skinners.

Which makes me wonder, If they do show her face in ME3, will they replace the placeholder with their version, y'know to show maybe a faint look at some of her features like in the previous ones, or model her face after it?

It's been said that they removed the lower part of her placeholder face in ME2 for a reason... I'm going to hazard a guess and say they decided some things about her physiology before ME2 came out. I'd expect most of the rest of her face to remain basically as it is...

I do have a suspicion about the lower jaw. Geth, and male quarian suits have visible flanges that hang from either side of the 'chin' area. I'm guessing quarians have a unique shape to their lower jaw that those features are meant to hint at or represent.

They sort of remind me of the volus' flanges. They could be just aesthetic things though. But taking those designs into consideration, it could very well be that there is some connection to that and their lower jaw. It probably is unique to other races. Man, I've never seen another company be this tight-lipped about something's or someone's appearance.

I'm quite aware the screenshot image I posted was from a game using a mod. It's my understanding that the mod adds eyebrows, reworked Tali's iris' and increased the transparency of her visor. The colour of her face and its overall geometry were unchanged.

I knew this and decided to use the pic because I think it gives a clearer view of Tali's placeholder-face skin, which btw is a light grey colour when seen without the visor.

I think we still need more information to start speculating that the removal of the lower face was anything other than a corner cut by the character designers. I mean, noone is supposed to see that part anyway, so why would they bother creating it?

Designers do this sort of thing right under our noses (pun fully intended) all the time. For example, in COD4 the right side of every gun you hold is very low res and undetailed. This is because we're only meant to see the left side of any gun due to the way the player character holds them.

With regards to the concept of Quarians with flanges, that seems rather unlikely. The novels describe Quarian faces as having lips with no mention of flanges. You'd think they would mention it if they had flanges or mandibles.

Probably. I'd imagine that she wouldn't show you her face if you showed the evidence about her father, or if you side with Legion during their fight.
