Those two pics are my favorites just because of the quality of each. The artists did a really good job.

Renegade face is probably the one she gave Jacob when she joined the new Normandy's crew.

Then maybe she gets so angry at Shepard she headbutts him and breaks her visor. That'll cause some injuries to her face.

I'm sure a lot of us don't want that though. Heh heh heh...heh

I'm sure they do, but as to what they are... no idea. Most insulting gestures are socially constructed... 'flipping the bird' is only a gesture to a portion of the human population after all.

I do have a suspicion about the lower jaw. Geth, and male quarian suits have visible flanges that hang from either side of the 'chin' area. I'm guessing quarians have a unique shape to their lower jaw that those features are meant to hint at or represent.

Now see, I always tended to interpret that design on the male Quarian helmets as being like a symbolic or visual representation of a beard - if Quarian females wear veils as a symbolic representation of long hair, then the male Quarians would also have visual cues of their gender represented in their helmet/suit design.

I'd be OK with either pic, though I do prefer the one I posted as I think it stays truer to Tali's placeholder face (minus the eyebrows ofcourse) and because I like the skin tone better.

I can understand why some say certain Tali fan art is too human although most of the time it seems like they want to ignore established canon in order to make Tali look alien for the sake of looking alien (I'm not talking about you, Quole).

Quarian are said by the novels to look, "surprisingly human". Their faces have eyes, lips, a nose and are arranged in a similar way to humans as well. They are supposed to bare a resemblence to humans. When someone says Tali should look alien, their reasons don't really get any better than "I wanna see more aliens".

It would be more appropriate to look at a fan art and compare it to what we've seen and know of Quarians already, instead of saying "too human" or "too alien" based on personal impressions.

How does this face compare to what we can see in the game?
Does it have any features that are not supposed to be there?
Is the skin tone plausable?
Would the head shape be compadible with the known helmet shape?
ect...

Sorry for the poor quality of the picture but I was forced to use the built-in webcam on my laptop . Anyway I think it looks pretty sweet, too bad the pic don't do it justice.

Its nice to see this forum really active again! long live tali!! I saw a post wondering if Quarians have obscene gestures. I imagine they do, but it would be funny if tali didn't understand humans bad gestures and swear words. ' tali looks at shepherd curiously as a river of filth comes out of his mouth after he accidentally shot himself in the foot.'
