I still say humanity should form a alliance with the Quarians and tali could be the ambassador. So much could be learned between us.
Do you think putting an engineer into a socially oriented position is such a good idea?
I think it is a very good idea to have an engineer like Tali move into an ambassadorial or political role in the future. To illustrate my reasoning for this, here is an example of the benefit more engineers could have on society;
I remember a while ago, there was a weekly politics show on TV which had a panel of career politicians answering questions put to them from the audience. Each week, they have one guest panelist which (on this particular occasion) happened to be a particle physicist who worked on the design of the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva. During the course of the show, the physicist began dissecting the politicians answers and pointed out their inaccuracies and misleading respones they were giving to the public. The physicist was able to relate to people's problems and came up with ideas and solutions to them, while the politicians just talked their usual nonsensical garbage and provided no solutions at all! The audience was actually stunned by the pragmatic way the engineer understood and dealt with the questions and solved them. Politicians know 'how' to talk, but that is all they can do. Engineers have the skills to rationalise and find solutions to problems, which is what so many politicians lack.
Therefore, I feel Tali would make a good 'practical' politician (i.e. perhaps at the end of ME3) as you need someone with these skills to solve problems in order to rebuild the Quarian civilization, and not just have career politicians pursuing some political ideology.
