Nice Work.
Heating can change considerably depending on the density of the atmosphere and the presence of greenhouse gasses.
I'm really tempted to make a Celestia mod for Tikkun.
Go for it. Celestia is a great visualization tool.
Considering that not everything is accurately stated in the codex (Rannoch being more arid because its closer to its star, most orbital periods being non-Keplerian, etc), 321 K as a surface temperature probably wasn't given a second thought.
With Rannoch being less massive than Earth, there is less gravitiational compression to drive internal heating. With less internal heating than Earth, we'll have to look into atmospheric heating as you suggested. While its surface pressure (0.93 atm) is not indicative of a runaway greenhouse effect, perhaps the composition of Rannoch's atmosphere combined with a higher abundance of greenhouse gases to trap radiation can provide a better explanation for this increase in temperature. Interesting to think about.
Well it seems we're discussing Tali now, so I'll chime in.
I've said this many times before, I like the canon design. However, the quality of the design is not the same as the quality of the reveal. I would have preferred to see an in-game model as opposed to an image. After reading the responses from PAX, it seems like a 3D model was never intended from the beginning.
Honestly, I've become quite tired of the discussion (not here, but elsewhere in the BSN). I've defended the canon design many times, especially agaisnt the claim that it defies the Mass Effect lore. Some people feel that their headcanon = canon, and I can't participate in any meaningful discussion when opinions are thrown around as facts. At this point, I would just like to see what additional scenes Tali will have in this upcoming DLC.
