They're useless at melee though. And sabotage is pretty pointless against anything except the geth (does it work against Cerberus turrets? I never tried).

Ter'Nadda herself again disagrees - she can bludgeon pretty hard. Secret's in the build. Increased melee when cloaked, coupled with Martial Artist on Fitness and the first evolution also boosting melee. Never hurts to proc it, in case the shotgun doesn't work.
And yes, it does. Cloak, then sabo to offset most of the cooldown.
It might also be able to play a role in lightning tech bursts. (You know, the only kind that don't only activate when the source dies, but instead work like biotic explosions)
