Officially I'd say Adams is in charge of engineering.  But Tali probably can do what she wants.  Note no one actually dared to try and stop her from tweaking.

Not even in Mass Effect 1?  That's a surprise.

Walit what? What are we talking about?

Well, I was just going full circle with the thing I started about Shep and Talis LI talk where you invite her up, and I decided I had found and interpretation that made sense to me. What? is it so strange that a forum debate can be concluded without a thread being locked or bans all round?

What conclusion did you come to?

The problem I had with that scene is that in ME2, Tali was in charge of engineering.  In ME3, all three treat her like a kid that knows nothing and even BioWare makes her look incompetent.

Was she in charge? To me it seemed like engineering was an autonomous collective, and she just happened to be the most talented among them. I saw the ME3 scene on youtube, but from what I took from it she just tried to tweak some systems to their limits and it blew up in her face... **** happens even to the most technically adept from time to time. Seemed to fit her character, in my opinion. I dunno, that's my take.

Besides, you know the military. When you screw something up in a hilarious fashion while trying a "watch this!" method outside normal protocols, does the rest of your shop take the time to calmly reassure you that "it's ok, that could have happened to any of us"?
;)

Let me put this another way.
Tali is quarian.
quarians live in ships.
Tali, in my opinion, would never put the ship or even the equipment in danger.  To her, a ship IS home.
That is what I object to.  Not that she might try something but that she would try something without looking at it 14 ways to sunday AND doing simulations on it before hand.
She would NOT play with the ship.

Forgive any insult, for none is intended, but do those not look rather similar to an apes foot/hand (well, besides the number of toes/fingers)?

Basicly that shepard was a bit forceful with the "You came becuase I asked" becuase they were both nervous about things but they both knew what they wanted, and he did not want to mess around about it any more. Its not perfect and only one way of looking at it but its better than being confused before

Yah, its shepard reashuring her. Plus, from her other dialog sugests that.SHE is dominant in the bedroom.
@heartface

Quite. Both under way too much stress at the time. Shepard made it clear what he wanted, so Tali wouldn't have to feel nervous anymore. Basically, it's the last remnants of her timidity, uncertainty in the ME2 romance being washed away. From then on, she's quite... well, comfortable, in the steadfastness of their relationship. Thus the rampant flirting on the dreadnought- that's them both finally getting some well-deserved stress relief after being apart for six months, being (potentially) uncertain about the relationship, and getting caught up in a galaxy-wide war.

Also agree with the second sentence there. Must come as a relief for Shepard, not being in charge ALL the time. Not to mention highly enjoyable for them both. =P

Good analasis, shepard knew that there wasnt much time left. Their relatonship needed to move beond questions, so they could enjoy their time together toto the fullest.

I don't see the similarities.  Ah, oh well, there's probably no way for me to see it.  Quarians are quarians and I accept them for what they are.  Especially for Tali.

Well, closer to say, a chimps, hand.  Their thumbs are way back on the palm, greater separation from thumb and fingers.  What I was trying to imply is that they seem to be designed for grasping things.  Way back in their evolution at least.

EDIT*  OH!  That's what a mewtwo is.  Tali is NO cartoon.  :)

Why thank you good, sir. I will listen to your link asap. In the meantime, try out this song. I don't think I've given it to you yet but it's definitely interesting.

In regards to quarian appendages, I assume that they were just trying to give dextros something in common (in their appearance).

Between Tali and Mewtwo, huggability is no contest.
I would much rather hug Mewtwo than Starchild, though.

Was referring only to the foot shape, not the species.
