I'm pretty sure the Geth would understand that destroying the quarian homeworld would just make them that much more likely to retaliate.

Not a particularly valid solution if they want to be left alone.

Really? Seems like basic logic to me.

"The Quarians want to retake their homeworld and are attacking us to do so. How to stop such aggression? Remove the homeworld from the equation."

Of course that would lead to an emotional response from the Quarians, ending up with even further hostilities but the Geth aren't good with those.

Enemy want our base? Destroy base! We win?

Your logic is horribly flawed, and I hope you are never in a position to make decisions in your life. :pinched:

However Rannoch is not their base, they don't live on it except for a few caretakers. So that analogy is flawed.

I think you underestimate how many platforms are on Rannoch, it takes a whole lot more than 3 to cover a planet. And as such it is their base, with their people on it, it would make no sense to destroy it.

I've been thinking about Tali's Loyalty Mission, and the choice of turning over the evidence.

I actually think that turning over the evidence would be a good choice, only if it didn't end in the Fleet splitting up. That's the only thing that stops me from turning over the evidence, because it will have bad repercussions in ME3, I think.

What does anyone else think?

I wonder what other quarians will think of Tali and Shepard's relationship in ME3. I am pretty certain that it is very rare that quarians have a relationship with a non-quarian. And given that they are a rather reserved species (and with good reason,) I can imagine that Tali+Shepard won't be received favourably by quarians.

Jake, you do realise your arguing with me about something I asked to clarify somebody else's post right? I don't actually agree with the idea.

They probably won't like it at first, but Shepard will probably earn their trust after getting their homeworld back.

If you don't agree with what i'm disagreeing with, then why are you arguing?

Who's upset about what now?

Besides the obvious lack of face reveals.

Rare, yes. But it does happen. We can only guess what the others think. Shepard isn't exactly a normal human.

I doubt it's rare... all Quarians go on a pilgrimage... Now if you were to ask if it's rare they engage in a lasting relationship with other species.. that'd be different.

I'm not sure they'll take it well, which is why in my fic (yes Jake, I'm a writer, put down the torch and pitchfork) they convene another hearing however this time Shep and Tali are represented by someone else, who puts forward their case.

If it's such a taboo, then there'd be hesitation on Tali's part, the Quarian wouldn't be talking so openly about it on Illium, etc.

Maybe that hesitation was ME1?

Doubtful, they retconned her attraction, so I suppose that if you want to imagine so......

That and I'm not taking something that was put in slightly as a 'Take that!' to people who wanted a romance-able Tali too seriously. But I suppose if you want a real reason, I'l say they don't care what happens on Pilgrimage as opposed to after it.

lol.

I think it's more likely Tali had feelings in ME1 but didn't understand what they represented... she is on a rite of passage for adulthood so maybe her experience with love and attraction simply wasn't there.

I seriously am curious about Shala'Raan's reaction. I think Kal Reegar would probably just laugh. "Ma'am... it was obvious."

Someone else who admits that it was a retcon? I'm starting to like this place after all.

You don't need experience to recognize base attractions... The fact is simply the devs didn't intend for her to be  LI initially, and that design shows in ME1. You can write your fanfics about how she was just hesitant, etc etc... But in the end it's because the attraction simply hadn't been written.

Actually the devs have suggested that the original intent was for her to be a LI in ME1 but it was dropped when someone said no one would romance someone with chicken legs...

Boy were they wrong. XP

Sure you can use the "Ma'am it was obvious." line. I think I might use it myself...
