However, bigger jump from canine/feline-analog to quarian than primate analog.

Also, due to Rannoch's unique biomes - few pest species - number of carnivores likely reduced due to lack of smaller prey species.

how are asari primate related?

and arnt canine/feline omivoresand not to cross universes here but look at the Na'vii from Avatar, they are of feline decent

Na'vi from Avatar invented by human director to ensure still look attractive to human audience. Thought did not go into evolution as a species.
Asari likely descended from mammalian-analog species, presumably similar enough to human predecessor. Explains similarity. Or are humanoid for same reason as above movie. Both likely.

It would make no sense for them to have evolved from dinosaurs seeing as they are earth creatures. Unless dinos didn't actually go extinct, they just packed their bags and hitched a ride in the transporter to Rannoch.

Accually he did, too late tnight but will try and find it, also you can deduce their evolution by examing certian parts of the movie

Face is very feline, particually the nose
Cat like mannerisums: crouching in perperation for attack/defence, hissing at potencal threat.
Tail acting as counter balance for speed and agility in jungel canopy

Look it up, it's better if you see it yourself. Lots of plot exposition included.
