Actually the devs have suggested that the original intent was for her to be a LI in ME1 but it was dropped when someone said no one would romance someone with chicken legs...

Boy were they wrong. XP

Sure you can use the "Ma'am it was obvious." line. I think I might use it myself...

There's no proof of that, though.

I'm pretty sure that was a joke. :wizard:

I think the devs said it in an interview, are you suggesting they lied and said that afterward. Didn't someone dig through the ME1 files and find references to it?

Released video games, such a mess of dropped concepts most of the time.

If I recall, it's just a rumor.

It was an offshoot comment by some random dev... It was not an official release, nor were there any files in ME1 suggesting Tali may be romanceable... And the manner it was quoted,  and published made it seem no more than a joke at how the community had taken to her.

*Shrug*

Anyway... I wonder if Bioware just had some devious plot where they said... "Yeah, lets destroy the ME1 LI in ME2. Make cheating really tempting. So, Tali and Garrus should be LI..."

I remember the first time I played ME1 and I was like... I was just being nice to you damn it, I didn't say I was attracted! Damn they were badly written.

You did have the option to turn them down, it just wasn't as abrupt and clear as it was in ME2... As for Tali and garrus, I think that was caving to fan demand, and not some sinister plot.

Anyway, that's what many fic writers do. They take things that happened or didn't in the games and explain it. I know a fan-fic that explains why, due to a bug in the programming, someone who was supposed to be Turian looked like a human.

Isn't the only way to turn Ashley down to pull rank on her when shes being racist or nuke her?

I know fanfics that go into Tali doing things that would horrify you. This is why I don't read fanfics, most are horribly written, or just plain dumb. :wizard:

I always endeavor to be well written and smart... XP

I don't expect Shep and Tali to have an easy time of it post ME2... lets face it some of the mechanisms Quarians use to adapt to each other simply aren't available to them. Link suit environments? Shepard doesn't have an environmental suit. Which means the only way for Tali to adapt to him is repeated exposure, which is dangerous as hell.

A lot of FF writers give Mordin a miracle cure for Tali just so Shepard and her can get it on easier... talk about a cop out.

In other words, a Deus Ex Machina. But the Talimance itself does this.

I think most talimancers overstate how exactly dangerous this is... Shepard isn't exactly stripping her down for a quicky in a tuchanka blast crater.

Please not this argument again Wolf, we don't need to discuss whether medicine is a DEM again do we?

lol. I know people overstate the dangers... I think the quarians themselves over state the danger aspect.

The ship has a decontamination airlock, probably got pretty good air filtering in life support. The primary danger is an allergic reaction to all the levo-based bacteria, dust, skin flakes, and so forth. So long as Garrus didn't visit the captain's cabin recently then there could be the threat of dextro bacteria.

Considering she survived with just a fever and congestion she'd survive repeated experiences and as her body acclimated she could cut down on the various things she used to fortify her immune system. She can't get sick from Shepard due to the bio-chemical barriers but she can have other nasty side effects if she's not careful...

That's all I was going to say, but I was discussing it with a person who hadn't seen my argument, so if you don't like it, don't read it. Simple as that.

Well that's the point isn't it, she can only have accute reactions as her body fights off the foreign  matter, which means most of her reactions would be limited to Shepard; as I'm sure a ships quarters are cleaned and sterilized regularly. Not to mention 2 doctors being on board.

Ironically I think the term immuno-booster is a serious case of 'did not do their research'. The danger of an allergic reaction means an immuno-depressant would be needed, and antihistamines for secondary allergic effects and so forth.

I wrote suppressant at first but thought it looked funny. XP Oh well...

The quarian immune system weak and hyperactive, awful combination there. In my FF I had a quarian exposed and I mentioned him burning through his supply of antihistamines trying to work through the reaction.

Snickers, does this mean I did better research then Bioware? Do I get a cookie? lol

Unlikely, I may not understand 100% how this works, but it seems logical that an immuno-booster used to target specific reactions would help her body recover and fight off the foreign matter quicker.
